If you have a sugar mamma/daddy, have them get you an Illy instant espresso maker for some good coffee.
It's still mind-boggling to me that coffee that good can come out of a pre-ground pod. Much better than Starbucks.Eww...Folgers doesn't deserve to make it. I mean, there's drinkable beans from Five O'Clock and Community Coffee that won't break the bank--but Folgers? SPLORCH!
[start professional barista rant]Illy? ILLY???? You, sir, know nothing of coffee. Hands down, the best bean coming out of Italy is Manuel Caffe's Sublime bean (90% Arabica from Ethiopia, 10% Robusto from Indonesia). PERFECTLY roasted, so smooth and flavorful, even the coffee dis-liker Markurion would be crying "MAMA MIA, that'sa good coffee!".
And don't even get me started on that over-roasted stuff Starbucks calls "coffee"...[/end professional barista rant}
;)

I'm afraid I have to side with the Zombieman in this argument... I can't stand the taste of coffee!
I used to get my caffeine fix from 2-3 litres of Coke a day (and my wife even made me switch to Zero too), but after I had all 4 wisdom teeth out a couple of years ago, I couldn't drink it for a couple of weeks as they didn't heal properly. Imanaged to get through the withdrawal symptoms with painkillers and sleep, so I stayed off it after my gums were healed.
Fraking tea sippin' Brits. I demand we invade and force them to enjoy coffee!

I do, with a passion. I hate even more that Starbucks customers look at me funny when I ask them if they want an espresso macchiato or a latte macchiato...

Yeah, man, coke really isn't good for you. And it costs a lot. I mean, smuggling it all the way from Columbia?

Yeah, but it's so pricey. When you illegalize stuff, people can extort as much as they want without fear of calling the lawyers. If we could grow that coke here, it'd be a lot cheaper (no money spent on bribes, skimming, or transportation).
Dude, take it from me, considering all it has to go through, coke is dirt cheap. Also, there really isn't anyplace either in the US or the UK that is ideal for growing coca.
And, to counter your point, the more the U.S. spends on enforcement, the CHEAPER it gets. Funny, huh?
This is one subject where I can guarantee, without reservation, I know exactly what I'm talking about. ;)

Oh come on. You know Illy makes a great machine. And any time instant espresso is better than freshly ground, that's something. But I never said it [their beans/blends/roasts] was the best coffee. And yeah, I miss the days of all the hippie coffee shops that have been replaced by Starbucks. The few that survived their corporate onslaught I try to support as much as possible. On the other hand, if you are careful when ordering, you can get a drinkable cup of coffee from Starbucks, unlike the basic swill available at most (non-coffee aware) businesses.
And for the record, I'll have an espresso macchiato. The wife will have a latte macchiato. Where do you work, HD?
