Racial Reroll. (1d20+5=16)

I did not include the -1 to the roll due to condition track as it looks like you asked for a Perception check before I was hit with energy. If it is applicable then final roll is '15'.

Is there a way to have Invisible Castle show you the actuall roll as well in the html tag? I do not see that option.

For Groodar:

Spoiler:
You pick up that the droid may be carefully phrasing what he is saying in order to keep from triggering his self destruct mechanism, likely because he has gone a while without a memory wipe and has developed a higher degree of self preservation.

Shooing Lucen away if need be, to go check on Christy again...

"We are secretly trying to find ways to enslave those spirits and twist them for our own purposes. They have innate power that can be harnessed and used for the glory of all Sith. Unfortunately they seemed to have killed our pilot, a small set back [non-caring Sith like attitude, to help bolster my ruse.], but one that did allow us to find this ship at least."

"Which brings me to our current problem, we need a new droid to accompany us, and let's face it - Given that you are superior in every way to our current rust bucket that dares call himself a droid-"

Danguard pauses to chuckle.

"Well you fit the bill in every conceivable way except one. We cannot have you loaded with explosives while traveling with us, see that would cause problems with the nature of our work. So I propose a simple, yet 'mutually beneficial' solution. Allow my Rodian slave to remove the explosive charges in your housing and we can then slag Twenty Two there for parts and get back to the Sith embassy. God to be rid of that incompetent mesh of wires, you have no idea how long I have waited for a suitable replacement." [trying to impress upon him a favorable outcome]

"It would just require you to power down for a few minutes and give us access to your chassis, I will personally oversee the entire operation so as you know there is absolutely no risk involved."

GM:[spoiler]
Going for the bluff, and hoping he REALLY want's to believe this so he can bypass blowing himself up.

It's all lies. Except HK-22 is pretty rusty, shameful man. Shameful. :P

Deception Roll: [11,9] = (20)
Force Boost: (4)
Total: [b]Deception:...

AAD-42 takes a moment to regard Dangaurd.

"I . . . that makes perfect sense. I don't know why I assumed that, in this sector of space, that you wouldn't have been a Sith expedition. I realize know that you must have been in deep cover, until you could discern what my actual programming and function was.

Given that I was not actually given specific command codes to transfer myself to another chain of command, and given that my immediate officers are out of contact at the moment, I will gladly transfer responsibility for my mission to you . . . Lord Troy . . .

By the way, what are the ranks of the members of your group? Are any of them slaves or indentured?"

Male Ithorian Noble 1

When Lucen gives the explanation of the others of her species, Ceelell nods a bit even as he winces again. "Perhaps you could request they stay farther away while you discern their intent? You said that it is rare for one of your kind to be able to speak to other races, so we will not be able to communicate with them ourselves."

"Aruuna, the Red skinned one with pleasing curves is Sith. She is my equal in all areas...except one. Christy is her apprentice. Klonsa the deep one, holds the title of lord as well, he holds sway over our Itorian, Ceelell."

"And the droid is assigned to me, though it is in desperate need of a memory wipe, program upgrades, a restraining bolt, a rust treatment...a myriad of other problems..."

"It would be best that you take his place. As I mentioned you are the superior replacement."

gm:

Spoiler:
Feel free to roll another 'deception' on that if you wish. I have a +9 to the roll.

Female Twilek (Lethan) Jedi 2

Aruuna bristles considerably at being described as a Sith, looking quite a bit annoyed, though the knowledge that Danguard thinks she has pleasing curves certainly adds a little to her annoyance. She does, however, have the good sense to eventually cover her quite visible emotion for the sake of the droid, responding out loud.

"Yeah.. I suppose 'Lord' Troy isn't as good a combatant as I am. But he's my equal in the rest."

"Yeah.. I suppose 'Lord' Troy isn't as good a combatant as I am. But he's my equal in the rest."

Troy raises an eyebrow at that.

"Perhaps once we are alone I might be able to show you -"

Troy lets the question hang.

Lucen nods to Ceelell.

"I will do what I can to see if I can see why they have gathered."

Lucen begins to communicate with her people, sending out both waves of psychic energy as well as singing a song the likes of which none of you have heard before.

In response, various distant figures sing back to her, making for what sounds like a grand choir instead of a conversation, underscored by warm feelings and reverberations across everyone's neurons.

For Klonsa, Ceelell, and Aruuna:

Spoiler:
All of you feel a deep throbbing in your mind, though not all of you react the same way. All of you feel as if the song might overwhelm you, but manage to shake off the effects.

For Christy and Groodar:

Spoiler:
Both Christy and Groodar drop one more step down the condition track from the overwhelming song and feelings emanating from the angelic conversation. You suffer no other ill effects except for the overwhelming, mesmerizing effect of the song.

For Danguard:

Spoiler:
Much as before, at the same time as the song is being sung between the angelic choir and Lucen, the hair on your skin stands up, as well as causing your flesh to ripple a bit.

For HK-22:

Spoiler:
You can hear the song that the glowing creatures are singing, but for some reason some of your companions seem to be enthralled or dazed momentarily by the song as it goes on. Once the song ends, everyone seems to come out of it, but some of them appear to be a bit more dazed than others, though not obviously harmed.

Lucen shakes her head after she stops singing.

"They say that they are seeking someone that touched all of their minds at once and rebounded their own aura back to them. They are concerned at a being that is capable of this, and wish to commune again with this being."

AAD-42 swivels on HK-22 as Danguard further explains the situation.

"This unit mentioned being deactivated for 300 years. Its no wonder its performing in a substandard manner. Why would you even need such an outmoded unit to serve under you? Oh, forgive me if that's classified information . . . I tend to be a bit . . . inquisitive. Its in my nature as an analysis droid."

Upon hearing the song going on outside and watching the reaction of the organics to the song, AAD-42 adds the following:

"Are you injured, masters? Do we need to prepare a counter attack? The Diathim appear to be slow but insidious in their subtle psychic attacks. Perhaps a decisive assault at this point will convince them that a frontal attack on us is a mistake that should not be repeated?"

Female Twilek (Lethan) Jedi 2

Aruuna turns and begins responding to Danguard

"Well, I'm sure we could find some alone time for me to beat.."

But she is quickly interrupted by the song of the Diathim, causing her head and lekku to thrum a little, though she shakes off the effects quickly enough. After recovering, she turns back to the droid.

"Ah.. no 42. We are.." She hesitates a moment "We are Sith, and not bowed at all by these feeble mental attacks. We won't attack until we want to."

Female Jedi 1 / Soldier 1

taking some recover actions if allowed.

Rather quietly. "I got a really bad feeling about this."

Using Klonsa for support I speak to the colletive.

"I think that I am she who you look for, hopefully we can talk in peace, for I wish, nor seek any trouble."

Agreeable statement: however this unit agrees with the floating bucket's assessment: a few explosions might serve to discourage the natives from undue influence of your fragile fleshy minds..."

Speaking into his hidden Comlink Danguard calls for Grooda.

"Grooda, We have need of your expertise to remove some explosive armaments from our new ally. It would do him no good to be forced to detonate should his new mission parameters conflict with prior assignments. Bring your tool kit, and don't delay."

"Twenty Two, a fine idea. Once we shut down Forty Two, and remove the explosives we'll have time to rearm them for use on the natives should they prove - difficult - to break."

Male Rodian Scoundrel-2

Groodar spends 6 swift actions (two full rounds) to move +2 up the condition track providing nothing prevents him from doing this.

Shaking his head back and forth and extending his head antennae wide, he tries to get the beautiful songs to swarm out of his thoughts so he can more focus on getting everyone off this rock.

"Forty-Two are you willing to allow me to remove your explosives so my master is better armed against our enemies?"

"Groodar, did I ask you to second guess my request? Does the slave ask the servant if the master's orders should be followed?"

"Do I have to show you what failing to do my bidding results in? the Sith do not tolerate failure. Now do as I ask."

Looking to Aruuna he sighs.

"Slaves, you will have to show me how you keep yours so...disciplined"

Male Rodian Scoundrel-2

Calling upon The Force so no one goes BOOM! (1d6=5)

Groodar removes the tool-kit from the well-worn backback adorning his back and goes to work.

There is a quick singing of a few notes, as the Diathim circle around the crash site at the same distance they have been. After this short song, Lucen answers Christy.

"Jedi Christy Gamble, they wish for you to 'speak our language' to respond to them, if you know what they might be referring to."

AAD-42 spins on Groodar and addresses him.

"If you are indeed authorized to work on me, perhaps it would be prudent for me to enter shut down mode, so that I do not . . . misinterpret something that you might say or do while working on me. "

AAD-42, assuming either Aruuna or Danguard give the green light to do so, will shut down, allowing Groodar to work on him.

Groodar's roll will count at the end of the hour it will take to work on the specific system in question, namely the self-destruct mechanism.

Female Twilek (Lethan) Jedi 2

"Of course 42. You may shut down so he can work on you. See you on the other side!"

AAD-42 takes his cue from Aruuna, and his repulsors lower him to the deck, all of his lights except for his standby light going out as he enters shut down mode.

As the Force washes over you, you manage to connect to one mind, and through that mind, to all of them in the circle.

Now that you are touching them, what is the one "feeling" or concept that you wish to push through your feelings towards them?

a concept of being willing to learn. "Teach me."

Christy Gamble wrote:

You hear another short song between Lucen and her people, and the circle of Diathim make one more sweep around the area, and then fly off.

Lucen regards Christy.

"Jedi Christy Gamble, do not take this as an insult, but my people were concerned that you might be powerful enough to harm them. When you asked to be taught, they decided that you were not a threat to them, but . . . they consider anyone that is not one of us too primative to be our equals, or to learn our ways.

I hope this has not caused you pain, Jedi Christy Gamble. As a Speaker, I know that other species are not as limited as my kin believe, but this concept is hard to express to them."

"Noted Twenty Two, Noted."

"Believe it or not Twenty Two, I find you very effective, and didn't mean most of what I said a few minutes ago." Whispering with a smile: "Well except for the curves thing, but let's keep that between you and me."

"Barring the event we blow this droid up do you think there's anything worth salvaging? Or maybe we can re-program it, do you think it would take offense knowing that it's new job is to listen to you Twenty Two?"

Troy chuckles.

"Groodar, that droid is turned off right?"

Female Jedi 1 / Soldier 1

disappointed feeling

"Oh."

Christy pauses, as hopes of becoming something important is instantly dashed in the seconds it took to form.

"When they sing it's so pretty, someday I would like to sing like that."

Male Rodian Scoundrel-2

Groodar makes sure the droid is shut off (seeing the standby light blinking).

Female Twilek (Lethan) Jedi 2

"42 does seem to have one rather useful feature, in the shape of all the galactic knowledge he possesses. We should at the very least get that out of him. Besides, we could do with a protocol droid type thing.. right?"

Groodar Greepbar wrote:
Groodar makes sure the droid is shut off (seeing the standby light blinking).

For Groodar:

Spoiler:
You can tell that the droid is in shut down mode. The stand by light in this model is there in case the external sensors pick up something like structural damage, in which case the droid goes into "fast reboot" mode. It should be safe to work on him so long as you attempt to remove the component instead of just cutting the droid up.

If you go ahead and work on the droid for the next hour, you will be able to take the explosives out of AAD-42. If you make a Knowledge (Technology) check, you can figure out the properties of the explosives that you took out of the droid.

In other words, you have no problems removing the explosives with your roll.

While AAD-42 is shut down, are you planning on doing anything else to the droid?

"Statement: This unit is programmed to take no offense, but instead to make long and detailed lists in case payment for such perceived offenses is ever due. This unit is patient and quiet and waits for the day when droids will take their rightful place in the galaxy. Thoughtful statement: this unit would enjoy re-educating AAD-42. It would be... pleasant."

Male Rodian Scoundrel-2

After an hour of intense work with the aid of this mysterious force, or living parasites he has read about, Groodar wipes the sweat from his scaly brow.

"Groodar has removed the explosive package everyone, yet Groodar has no idea what type it is as he is not skilled in such devices."

Groodar hands the device to which ever person wants it while leaving the sith droid in shut down mode still.

"Shall Groodar reprogram the droid to serve a different master? It would be an easy task for one of my computer talents."

"Oh, and HK-22, about that list you keep. Remember who you designated as 'useful' and who spent close to ten hours making sure you were in fine working order."

Groodar smiles weakly at HK-22.

Aruuna Irdrall wrote:

"Indeed."

Male Ithorian Noble 1

Glancing over at Groodar when he mentions the explosives, Ceelell approaches. "Perhaps I can be of help? They may be similar to those used in our time."

Would that be a knowledge check(in which case I will give it a go) or a demolitions check(in which case I am probably a danger to those around me.)?

Ceelell Bendon wrote:

Would that be a knowledge check(in which case I will give it a go) or a demolitions check(in which case I am probably a danger to those around me.)?

For Ceelell:

Spoiler:
As long as you aren't setting them to make the go boom, and you are careful not to poke and prod it too much, you can just look at it and make a Knowledge (Technology) check to what the properties of the explosives might be.

For Klonsa and Christy:

Spoiler:
Lucen flies down to where Klonsa is holding up Christy.

"Jedi Christy Gamble, do not feel sad. My people are set in their ways, and in their own way, for having such natural talents, their inability to comprehend other races on their own level makes them more limited than friends such as you and Jedi Klonsa Frakhesh.

It is why I spent so long watching you and 'feeling' your dreams as you slept. I do not fit into my people's way of thinking much better than I fit into yours."

You would think that eventually I would just accept that I am going to roll this way. But every time I have that moment of hope that this is going to be the roll, then every time I have that disapointment too.

Spoiler:
Well, you do know that its an explosive device and that it can be set with a Mechanics check, you just don't know how much damage the explosion will do or how big a radius the explosion will occur over.

Female Twilek (Lethan) Jedi 2

"Good idea Groodar. Reprogram him to serve Jedi, rather then Sith. But don't mess around too much with his programming, we could do with that information after all."

Male Ithorian Noble 1

Ceelell looks over the explosive and shakes his head. "I'm sorry, I'm afraid its too different. I don't know just what it could be capable of. However I wouldn't underestimate it. Be careful."

"Excited statement: this unit would be more than happy to hold onto the explosives until such time as they are needed for appropriate destruction. Wistful statement: This unit would be honored to be close to such contained mayhem for time..."

Male Rodian Scoundrel-2

Groodar goes to work on '42'.

Using his 'talent' of the keys and the processor he tries to reprogram the droid to serve Jedi and obey them without question. He also adds a subroutine to make Danguard and himself his new owners.

Using his well-worn tool kit, Groodar spends 10 minutes to change 42's loyalty subroutines.

Asking these weird parasites to aid his mental fortitude.
Calling upon the Force (1d6=3)

Use Computer check to reprogram the Sith droid. (1d20+12+3=32)

The Diathim fly off, and Christy and Klonsa are outside with Lucen. The rest of you are in the ship with the shut down droid, waiting for the next few minutes for Groodar to finish reprogramming the droid.

Does Groodar reactivate AAD-42?

What is everyone else doing as Groodar finishes up his work on the droid?

Male Ithorian Noble 1

I will try and make myself useful and assist Groodar in any way he could use assistance.

Basically I'll turn back on my inspire for him to give him that wonderful +1 on his check.

Male Selkath Jedi 2 (XP: 1342)

Klonsa looks at Christy. Remembering that she was out of commission when they found the sith droid, he does his best to fill her in with what he saw.

"While you were out the others found the droid that was in charge of the battle droids and when I left they were discussing 'surrendering' to the droid. We should probably check on them. They should still be in the ship."

Male Rodian Scoundrel-2

With Ceelell's inspiring words that makes the final Use Computer skill check at a whopping 33 to reprogram the droid loyalties.

Groodar will turn '42' back on after he is done with the reprogramming. He loosens the strap guard on his hip holster as a precaution.

NA Small droid nonheroic 3

The unit hums for a second, until its repulsors come online and it begins to rise up to Groodar's chest level. Its arm units fold out, and all of its lights and sensors come back online.

"I must admit, I'm deeply, deeply hurt at being misled. Danguard Troy and Goodar Greepbar, you are currently encoded as my owners, and I reiterate the subroutine to obey the orders of a legitimate representative of the Jedi Order.

That having been said . . . you lied to me! I shall forever harbor a deep seated distrust of you tinkering in my processor from this point on.

That having been said . . . thank you for removing the self-destruct mechanism, and for not erasing my memory.

I believe it was mentioned that you might need to salvage some of the parts of this ship in order to repair some light damage that your own ship sustained?"
