A little over four hours ago i was mugged. They got my wallet, but not before stomping on my head two or three times and kicked me, in the head, several time.
Sufficed to say, i hate the world right now.

My faith in humanity is the most damaged thing. I should be fine. Though i am going to have to ask my mother for some money to tide me over until i get a new bank card. My wallet was fortunately empty other than plastic. I had some minitures with me...their box is a right of and i have no idea of the state of the minitures yet.

The mugging, while I certainly don't condone it, is merely a symptom of society and isn't to be dwelt upon too much.
The violence for no reason is another matter entirely. People like that need to be punished in the extreme. Violence for the fun of violence is not something we should be lenient on.
I hope they catch those bastards!

That sucks man. Hope your'e ok. If you haven't done so yet, go to a doctor and make sure there's no serious damage to your head. And make a police report.
Group of guys tried to mug me once. In retrospect I probably should have just given them my wallet and the five dollars or so in it rather than telling them to f*@& off (in my defence I only saw the one guy who asked me for it, not the five or so waiting just around the corner). I managed to get away with my wallet and only a bottle smashed against my head for my trouble, but it could have been really bad. I feel for you. And it does really screw with your faith in humanity.

It seems i got of lightly...they appear to have optimised their 'speak chav' daily power, rather than their 'beat up geek' encounter power. I have a couple of cuts on my nose, my right hand is scratched to buggery and i have some cuts in side my mouth. Beyond that my head actually feels frin other than sort of being brused. The worst feeling ingury is my throat where one of them put is hand over my mouth and pulled my head back threatening to break my neck if i bit him, my throught now feels like it has the mother of all sore throats.
As for the doctor, i was taken straight to hospital and they checked me out.

Been there. It's a lousy place to be, but it does get better. I've been mugged 3 times now (two of them during the X-mas season of all times), and assaulted for no reason once. You just have to realize that there are far fewer a$$hole$ in the world than decent folks.

Coincidently, I just found out that, yesterday morning, a 17 year-old kid on his way to school was mugged at knife-point not far from my home. I told my wife to be very careful when she left the house this morning.
This is, of course on top of the recent rash of break-ins in my area. It never used to be like this. Even my next-door neighbor was hit about two weeks ago. The wife and I have an alarm system now, and I already own a hand-gun, but I still worry.
I guess it's just a sign of the times.

I’m really sorry that happened. I’ve been robbed, but thankfully never mugged. My uncle was mugged once though. Believe me, you came off easy! One of his assailants had a brick, but he’s better now.

sorry to hear about your bad luck ZN, but if misery loves company just know you aren't alone in the string of bad luck that has been sweeping over paizonians. Unfortunately as the economy falls so too does civility...
Look on the bright side, you're alive, you don't need major surgery, you have family to help you, and you have a community of people who you can vent to. And hopefully your miniatures are OK.
Now, how did it happen? Did you cross the street to get away from them before the attack?

ZN the memory fades but it does make you a bit weary of people when you are out.
I got rolled a few years ago, I had come home from uni for the holidays and met up with some mates at the pub. I got very drunk and decided walk home, next thing I know these 3 little turds (they would have been 15 or 16 years old) jump me, smack me in the head with a tree branch and the face with a brick. The funny thing was I had drunk all my money, all I had was some change which I threw at them. I then ran for my sisters friends house that was only a block away. I thought I was going to die, I got away with a bloody nose and some lumps and bumps.
I still tense up a bit at night if I see people walking towards me. Other than that I don't think about it.

Hope you are doing OK. As weird as it sounds, a rape prevention course is a quick way to learn how to protect yourself in this type of situation without devoting a ton of time to self-defense classes. I used to teach an 8 week(once a week) course that was free. We focused more on preventing yourself from getting into a situation where something happens and less on moves to take down your attacker. Stuff like always scanning your environment for exits, improvised weapons and dangers, screaming bloody murder at first sign of trouble, and other similar stuff. If you want moves to take out an attacker, I suggest 2 things: Aim for the groin or aim for the throat. Both are really hard to shake off and, unless you have great aim and good power in regards to the throat, rarely fatal.
