I second the Sombreros, this is an underused piece of headgear in many fantasy settings.

haha - theres a second edition adventure somewhere that is made for two groups, one good and one evil, playing at the same time, racing through a labyrinth (starting at opposite ends and needing to get to the middle)... on of the rooms on the evil side has a lizardman in a sombrero. (it also has a Cadillac up on blocks somewhere in it)

A comedy... a comedy of manners, a screwball comedy, a slapstick comedy... whatever. It's a genre that's not been done nearly enough, given the amount of laughter around DnD tables.
A First Contact kind of a situation, in which the PCs lead an expedition to a new land, have to find supplies, deal with natives, map, farm, trade, etc.

I agree with Charles and also if you want my vote I suggest not writing an ultra high level adventure, in fact the lower the better.
After all how many adventures does Paizo do a year and how many of those are 10th level or less?
Also I like flumphs too.
And Trevor I hope it is a three way tie for fourth. Good Luck.
Cheers

I am sure there was that movie with Lassie you know the one where she was the bikini wearing, blink dog, pirate. Strangely I think the bad guy was a sombrero wearing, dinosaur riding, ninja monkey.

If that's the case, you're going to love my villain concept. She's a halfling/blink dog crossbreed, and a raptor-riding bandita sorceress with a spider monkey familiar.

That's so cliche!

Hmm... I like high level modules, but they're almost impossible to do well in only 32 pages.
I suppose the sweet spot would be levels 8-14.
And please have some variety with the monsters. there were a few encounter locations last round that were well written, but which had too vanilla monsters.
Good luck, I'm sure the winners will do whatever they think is best. :)
The only prerequisite I have is for the module to forgo any overwrought brutality.

A quarterling.
;-)
How about When Monkey Pirates Attack!!! They can wear sombreros, and their ship can be called The S.S. Dinosaur! They can ride blink dolphins.

Quarterling is the politically correct term, yes.
What about a pirate who is also a ninja? Talk about self-loathing...

too bad Giant Space Hampsters aren't in the SRD.
I believe that the pet in question was a Miniature Giant Space Hamster, which happens to be about the same size as an ordinary Hamster, but which has all of the same powers and abilities as a regular Giant Space Hamster. Those powers include, among other things, the ability to make a cute little squeaking sound whenever touched.

Actually, in the Spelljammer setting, there were over a dozen species of giant space hamsters, of which the miniature giant space hamster was only one. Other examples:james knowles wrote:too bad Giant Space Hampsters aren't in the SRD.I believe that the pet in question was a Miniature Giant Space Hamster....
- Two-headed Lernaean Bombardier Giant Space Hamster
Fire-Breathing Phase Doppleganger Giant Space Hamster

And no, sadly, I didn't make any of those up.
Fire-Breathing Phase Doppleganger Giant Space Hamster
Tyrannohamsterus Rex
Giant Space Hamster of Ill Omen (a.k.a. "Wooly Rupert")
What was even more impressive is that all of these were created before templates. Think of what kinds of Giant Space Hamsters you could make in 3.X!

that would almost make the universe imploding worth it. hell if we are going to make the universe implode we might as well make it an undead pirate ninja monkey, duelwielding a nunchuk peglog and flaming poo covered shuriken.

There are some very talented people who made drawings of some of the top 32 wondrous items. I would love to see one of them (or several in collaboration) draw this.
On second thought: no, I wouldn't. Please don't.

But ... overwrought brutality is awesome... especially in a comedy.
