"So about eighty gold apiece in assorted coinage.." Mel thinks for a while then shakes her head"..it hardly seems worth it,perhaps we could leave the chest with the trader for safe keeping whilst we search for the temple..I say no"
Hasim Bin Omar
"Is there anyone we can trust with the money? If not, then I should explain myself..." ...in case I can't post again for a while.
"Usually, in this sort of situation, I would entrust all the party funds to one person. But we've encountered an owlbear and a harpy. To be frank, I've never been on such a dangerous expedition before. That's why I brought this matter up."
Adjunta Paul

"Hmmm," Adjunta hums, "it's funny but I can't quite remember how we got to this point."
Adjunta glances down at his share of the coins. He quickly gathers them up and packs them away in his coin purse.
"Still," he muses, "it's good to have this settled once and for all."

Ianthe , the collateral for each scroll is 50 gp (the cost of the scroll ) which means you have to fork 200 gp .
Furthermore, it costs you 30 gp to copy three level 1 spells in your spellbook and you have to make a DC 16 Spellcraft for each spell (11/20 chances of succeeding ). If you copy these from a scroll , the scroll is then destroyed in the process even if you fail in the spellcraft check . Recreating a 1st level scroll cost you 25hp in materials .
So in total 105 gp if you succeed in all your spellcraft checks
I'll let you rethink your strategy there

"what is it that you want Mr Edgral," Adjunta asks, "I have a duty to the church and to my people, but even a man living alone in the woods needs something. Money could provide some material comforts, fine weapons or tools, but we're quite willing to make another offer if you wish. Perhaps there's a favor we could preform for you."
robin
"Ok ! I'll show you where it is then . Just let me finish my meal and we can go . It is but one day far from here"
With this , Edgral continues to eat . Once finished , he leaves the inn and leave the village (with hopefully you in tow) . Once out of the village , he shouts some grunts and you can see a wild boar joining him looking at you suspiciously but accepting your presence .
Melissa Evendale
Mel looks distinctly sceptical..if this gruding help is the best they can expect she has no great faith in ever achieving the mission they have been set..still she follows along behind...at the sound of the grunts and the appearance of the pig she almost giggles.

Sorry I didn't want to do all the talking there
Despite his noble priestly barring Adjunta is an extremely good traveler on foot. Although he was content to ride in the wagon the priest doesn't seem in the least bit bothered by travel on foot.
Also I am still here :)

"We are friends " . With this , Edgral continues to walk . After several hours , you stop for the night which pass uneventful . The next day , Edgral continues to guide you and then at about eleven o clock , he stops
"Temple is about 150 meters ahead . I'll leave you now. You'd better take care with the brigands who live there "
Ianthé Jack
Ianthé was out of sorts, having to play 'catch up' since the man left the inn, and the trek through the woods did not change that, the jingle of her braclets coming often as she kept up. It was not until the break for the night that she was able to really catch her breath, and the next morning, it was much the same. When Edgral departed, she looked around at everyone, looking to see how they were doing.
Heren Andercrote
Mel doffs her pack and looks to the others..
"I guess I had better scout ahead..give me 100 count then follow on behind but try not to be seen huh?"
Stealth 1d20+8
'I'll give you 150, I'm in armor on a horse, get into a good position and be ready to jump out if they engage. Whistle like a wren if they are heavily armed. Sound good?'
robin
Moving fast and silently , Mel goes in the direction Edgral has given . She sees after a moment some batiment ahead lodged amongst the trees and bushes
Approching still nearer , she can see a piazza of stone still in good state even if some herbs are growing in the cracks . the piazza is in fact sureleved with stairs going up to it and pillars . there are two small structures in the center and beetween these two structures is a high statue of a headless man blessing the crowd ( think Rio de Janeiro statue only with the head missing )
Mel is coming from the south east and can spot quite easily a man in leather armor and spear going back and forth in the south side of the piazza. He is evidently guarding the place but is only doing so passively .
Ok , as I might have mentioned already , I am an internet inapt and quite incapable of knowing how to post a map there . So here are the technical descriptions .
The piazza is 30 m x 22,5 meters so a 20*15 combat square numeroted A-U in horizontal and 1-15 in vertical . The A ,B , T , U lines ares stairs going up as lines 1 , 2 , 14 and 15 . Squares C3 , H3 , N3 , S3 , C8 , S8 , C13 , H13 , N13 and S13 are occupied by the pillars mentionned . Put a wall between E and F for squares 6 to 10 , another between 10 and 11 for squares F to I . Put another between 10 and 11 for squares M to P . Another between 5 and 6 for squares M to P
The statue occupies squares K6 K7 K8 L6 L7 L8 and finally the man move betwwen squares K12 and P12 .
I would put Mel in square F19 at this point. Any questions ?
Heren Andercrote
This about right?
Heren waits for Mel's call, mounted atop Harstandir, his lance and shield and the ready.
It'll take me four rounds round to get there, 3 runs and a charge. My horse moves 35 ft. so I'd be one round quicker than the others on foot. Or we can all move together as one and charge when we come onto the map.
robin
Thanks for the map , heren ! there is somme corrections to make
all A , B , T and U squares are stairs as are all 1 , 2 , 14 , 15 . the statue is on J K not K L my bad and the man visible is on L12.
Also bad news , but you won't be able to charge , there are enough bushes on the way to the temple to hinder this
Melissa Evendale
That's a hell of a lot of stairs the young rogue thinks to herself as she takes the scene in
Mel settles into position spanning her crossbow and observing the apparently lone guard.

Mel grins to herself and picks up a fist sized rock then worms her way forward to the bottom of the stairs at F15
Stealth1d20 + 8 ⇒ (19) + 8 = 27
Once there she bellys up to behind the pillar at H13. and throws the rock as hard as she can to her right hoping to draw the guard out.

Mel
Mel move stealthily to F13 (H13 is occupied by the pillar) and has the surprise to find another man sleeping his back to the pillar at F12 ..
The guard reacts both to your stone throwing and to the sounds of a large horse moving through the forest . He hisses 'Guys , company , Herb wake up !" and hides himself at N12
Everyone but Mel
you are coming in sight of the temple , there is no one in sight ...

Ianthé Jack
Stealth1d20 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 2 = 20
Ianthé tried to keep herself as quiet as possible, but the occasional muted 'clink' from her bracelets made her think that she could probably use something to wrap them with in the event that she has to sneak again 'Grandmother allow that those occasions be few', she prayed.
She assumed that their intent here was to clear the ruins of bandits and then retrieve what they were sent here for-- it made the most sense to her.
Hasim Bin Omar
Stealth has never been Hasim's strong suit. He's certain that he will step on a twig or make some other noise, and prove more of a hindrance than a help, if he runs ahead. Instead, he hangs back with Heren and Paul.
And after having said all that, I'll be as stealthy as I can...

Mel takes the obvious course of action and shoots Herb at point blank range
Coup de grace with light crossbow auto crit damage+sneak attack 2d8 + 1d6 ⇒ (8, 6) + (6) = 20
Herb needs to make a DC30 fort save or die
