Was watching Attack of the Show earlier, and found out that Warner Bros. has purchased the rights to make a live-action Ninja Scroll flick. Watchmen co-writer Alex Tse is to write the screenplay

Interesting.
My friend and I were just talking about live action movies being made from Anime on Saturday and I mentioned that I would like to see Ninja Scroll done (as long as it is done well, the original movie is one of my favourite Anime).
Robotech (Macross Saga, not Masters and/or New Generation) is the other I'd like to see.

Flash, Death Note has two live action movies.
Yeah my friend was raving about them and said I should watch them, but I haven't seen the Manga. I'm more of an "Old Skool" Anime man though (Ninja Scroll, Akira, GitS, Wicked City, Bubblegum Crisis, Dominion Tank Police, etc...). I did like Cowboy Bebop, but a lot of the newer Anime hasn't really caught my interest as much.
Forgot to mention Leonardo DiCaprio's company will be producing this, and of course the two live-action Akira movies.
Yeah my friend mentioned they were making a live action Akira. My heart nearly stopped with joy until I heard Leonardo DiCaprio was meant to be playing Kaneda (personally if he had to play anyone I would have said Tetsuo) and they were changing it to an American setting!
So they are doing 2 movies then are they? I wonder if they will be true to the movie or the Manga? The Manga is 6 thick volumes and while the movie is actually drawn directly from the Manga, what's in the movie could fit inside the first volume (which is the smallest btw). That leaves 5 more massive volumes of unused material.

The two movies are supposed to based off the manga. With part 1 taking the first volume, and two taking the second.
As for the move in location. The movie takes place in New Manhattan, a city rebuilt by Japanese money after being destroyed 31 years ago.
