Yes. You can show him how to get thrown in jail. That should be educational.

Ha! I don't need any training on that! Great way to sleep off a hangover, lemme tell ya...

It's well-known that Lord Bleys Thrandarl had some private means of planar transport, although he's been missing for some time now. I've got a 10th level or so adventure involving that disappearance, using his son as a hook...
Sheraviel's after-effects from the fountain sometimes manifest as a weird sort of double-vision, so that she feels like if she walks around a tree to the right, everything will be normal, but if she walks around it to the left, maybe she'll end up somewhere slightly different...

After the excitement of d'Ansac's rebellion, Agun is enjoying his new appointment as a student at the University of Hylore's Department of Wizardry. Along with studying, he has plenty of time to scribe scrolls now... (This post is also a reminder to myself to email you the list of spells in the book you took from the "half-azer.")

Hooray! Agun wants to spend some of that time researching the summoning ritual stone we found a while back. His Knowledge (Planes) and (Lore) are at 9, and his Spellcraft is at 10. When you send me the list of spells, if you wouldn't mind summing up what he knows about it, please, I'd appreciate it.

Did I miss something? Are Rim and Agun supposed to go up a level?
No; the rewards for this adventure are social, rather than personal:

Andostre |

Very nice! That's pretty cool for all of our characters.
Regarding the other group: Can someone refresh my memory? Have we actually played those characters since they've reached 2nd level? Because if not, I'm thinking of replacing Jazeed's 2nd cleric level with the 1st level in Kirth's Favored Soul (Lore mystery). I think it would fit really well with the background I have for him, and at the risk of min/maxing, just the one level would help patch up some of his weaknesses in his role of cowardly, secretive know-it-all.
(And from the Favored Soul's Tongues curse: I know what Aklo is in literary fiction, but how does it apply in Aviona? Is it a racial language, a specific cult's language, or something more general?)

Go ahead and swap out one or both levels if you want; I have no issue with it. Be aware that if you split levels, though, the spellcasting won't stack, which kind of sucks. BTW, the bonus spells for the Favored Soul now come at levels 1,3,5,7,9,11,13,15,17, instead of at 3,5,7,9,11,13,15,17,19.
P.S. I'm almost done with a full set of revisions for the Favored Soul and the Sorcerer which makes both of them worth playing despite the lag in spells and lack of ability to swap out from day to day. I'm VERY pleased with how they look now -- hopefully Siodra and Jack will remain a important NPCs so I can sneak some sorcerer playtesting in for free, as it were.(And from the Favored Soul's Tongues curse: I know what Aklo is in literary fiction, but how does it apply in Aviona? Good question! I think it should be included, but I haven't strictly defined it yet -- the multiverse is a big place, after all. You and Jazeed get some input there!

Yeah, I know. I'm only planning on taking the one Favored Soul level for now, and I figure that the loss of a spell level is offset somewhat by a few spontaneous spell slots and the Identify spell. And the image of him huddling behind a small shield during a battle is hilarious.
BTW, the bonus spells for the Favored Soul now come at levels 1,3,5,7,9,11,13,15,17, instead of at 3,5,7,9,11,13,15,17,19.
Hmm. The version of the class that I have gives the spells at levels 1, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 14, 16, and 18. But either version won't affect this one level, though.
Kirth's Favored Soul? Bwwwwwwwhaaaaat?
I should have said "Kirth's version of the Favored Soul class," so you didn't think he included his own username in the class title. :)

Cadogan |

Cadogan has a number of minor arrests and suspected felonies removed from his record. Although he initially falls under suspicion of Mr. C's organization as a "Royalist stoolie," his criminal reputation is restored (and then some) when word leaks out that he assassinated Lord Fairpoint's daughter.
So, um, I can reasonably assume that there aren't an excessive number of beings that may want me dead for this? Perhaps just some random cultists and a demon lord or two?

Righto! TOZ -- I've been working on making Paizo's "Oracle" a viable broad-base class, so I've merged it with the 3.5e Favored Soul, the OA Shugenja, and the Dragonlance Mystic. I'll send you a copy when I'm done with the current round of revisions.

On the surface, you'd think so, but remember that demons are CE embodied, and practice a ruthless form of social Darwinism -- so they're more likely to want to recruit you for it, than to kill you for it. More importantly, though, is the fact that most extraplanar beings don't give excessive heed to random human criminals' rumor-mills.

Re: The sorcerer, the current model uses a unified mechanic for the 1st level energy ray powers, the 9th level breath weapon/energy burst powers, and the Reserve feats that provide blasting powers. The current progression looks something like this:
Level : Abilities
1 : Bloodline, bloodline arcana, minor bloodline power, 1st level bloodline spell
2 : Bloodline feat, sorcerous blast (ray; 1d6 per level of highest-level spell slot remaining)
3 : 2nd level bloodline spell (if Cha high enough for bonus slot), minor bloodline power
4 : Ability to shape sorcerous blast (cone, line, or burst)
5 : 3rd level bloodline spell
6 : Bloodline feat
7 : 4th level bloodline spell
8 : Doubles range of sorcerous blast (30 ft. to 60 ft.)
9 : 5th level bloodline spell, bloodline power
10 : Bloodline feat
11 : 6th level bloodline spell
12 : Adds "rider" effect to sorcerous blast
13 : 7th level bloodline spell
14 : Bloodline feat
15 : 8th level bloodline spell, major bloodline power
16 : Some other improvement to sorcerous blast (TBD)
17 : 9th level bloodline spell
18 : Bloodline feat
19 : TBD
20 : Capstone power
Thoughts? Ideas? Opinions?

Rolled some decent stats for Falandar. That 7 should make it interesting...
Can't get the link to work.

Worked OK for me! Interesting stats... three superhuman, one slightly above average, one slightly below average, and one in the pits. It would be interesting to see someone -- just once -- put that "7" in something other than Charisma!
Oh, I've put it in strength before. On a aged gnome beguiler.
Her to hit at 7th level was 0. Her damage with a spear was 1d6-3. It took her three tries to successfully coup de gras a helpless enemy. :D

Have you seen the Strength scores of both of my characters?

Kirth Gersen |

Well, I put it in Int, Kirth, so it's only a 9 now. :) Lemme tell ya, those max ranks in Endurance and Survival from the ranger class helped. I barely had the points to get the other skills I wanted.
If you don't mind the hit to hp (or take Toughness to cover for it) you can always use the favored class bonus for more. Of course, a human gets an extra skill point AND a bonus feat...

Hey, Fiachra put his 6 in strength. And his 8 in Charisma. ;)

Thanks for the files Kirth. I am sad panda that you kept the staggered casting, but oh well. I notice it does require a serious rebuild to unstagger it, but I have the patience. Also, working on a ninja rewrite that might satisfy your 'magical rogue' craving while agreeing with everyone's aesthetic opinions. Kind of hybridizing the rogue and monk together. I'll post a link when I'm done.

Kirth Gersen |

It's not quite as staggered -- you can get 5th level spells at 9th level now, for example, if your Charisma is 20+. It's a trade-off for the buckets of abilities they get -- that 9th level sorcerer in Pathfinder gets an 30-ft. range energy ray 3/day for 1d6+4, whereas the new sorcerer gets a 60-ft. range shapeable energy attack at will for up to 5d6, for example.
Although I kinda really did want to reset spells known according to the wizard table, so as to have a unified spell table.

Sorry to barge in and threadjack, but Kirth mentioned in another thread (here) that Jess Door might have some insight on the Jade Phoenix Mage prestige class (from WotC's ToB/Bo9S for 3.5). Jess, is there any chance that I can persuade you to share your experiences with and thoughts on the class?

Although I kinda really did want to reset spells known according to the wizard table, so as to have a unified spell table.
I hear that. I'll have to go back a read a bit closer then.
Posted what I have on the ninja. Thinking I'm going to make the ki powers list more utility than offensive. Things like knock, as you mentioned. I kept the 3.5 ki pool mostly out of personal preference, and because I wasn't going to put invisibility on the powers list. Stole most of it outright from another ninja revision on the boards here and have been editing it. Cut a lot of typing out.
Overall, it's kind of a middle ground between monk and rogue, and a decent multiclass option for either. Not sure if I want to let it stack for ki power progression or not. Don't want to make it too good. Also have to figure out what would be a good capstone ability for Ether Walk. The writeup I copied from didn't have anything. Thinking of maybe some kind of planeswalking ability.

I was beginning to wonder what had happened Monday night.
Trog, Virac, Fiachra, and Jazeed have taken jobs as caravan guards, as a cover for their search for the ever-popular head-in-a-box. Along the way they've been ambushed (twice now) by robed dark creepers called "Berbers," who evidently serve someone named Kalgis Borr.
The caravan successfully crossed the mountains into Aramni (where worship of Asmodeus is the state religion and secret police abound) and on to the ancient city of Xandiev. In Xandiev, they've managed to secure clothing close enough to local standards to prevent them from being totally shunned. Experiments in eating the local food have largely met with failure, but luckily the hotel for outlanders offers bland (but stomachable) fare.
Another caravan is due in any day from the south; with luck, the box they seek is with that caravan.
