Gorrish River

I'm currently going over the Pathfinder Journal from Pathfinder #1 and translating it into German. There I found this, about the Galtan Lodge (emphasis mine):

Pathfinder #1 wrote:
In happier days, the Galtan Lodge at Woodsedge, where the Gorrish River meets the eastern borders of the ancient Verudran Wood, served as the repository of some of Galt’s most famous historical and magical artifacts.

I looked at the map in the Gazetteer, but found no trace of the Gorrish River. The river that seems to fit the description would be the Sellen River. Has this been renamed since the earliest publications, or am I missing something here?

The Gorrish River is a smaller tributary, I suspect, that isn't labeled (or might not even show up at all) on the larger map of the Inner Sea Region.

While that works, the fact of the matter is that the river I was talking about in that article eventually became the Sellen River. So you'd be fine translating that as Sellen, since that was the original intent.

Thanks, James and Erik, for the information. I have a few more comments and questions about locations mentioned in the journal.

immense tapestry maps of the Inner Sea region, adorned with sewn-in notes on sites of interest ranging from Cheliax and Mwalgi in the west to the southern rim of Qadira in the east.

Is Mwalgi supposed to be Mwangi? Mwangi is not, however, exactly in the west.

In the volume’s other pulse-pounding tales, marooned sailor Gregaro Voth explores monolithic ruins in the simian-choked Forbidden Jungle, and the merchant prince Selmius Foster of Absalom opens the spice markets of distant Vandu to western traders by racing a marid and an efreet through a series of heroic challenges.

The Forbidden Jungle doesn't seem to mentioned in the Gazetter, could it be the forest south of Sargava perhaps? Vandu sounds like if could be an early name of Vudra.

Which of the rivers that flows into Lake Ocota makes up these headwaters? Is the mountain lake maybe at the Ruins of Kho?

Is Bhopan on the Gazeteer map? As Adolphus flees from there to Quantium, is it the island off the coast of Nex?

Yeah... this article was one of the first things we did for Golarion, and not all of the names and ideas were yet set in stone. We CERTAINLY didn't have a world map at this point... at least, not one in any real solid sense (we had a big 1st draft version of the world relatively early... not sure if we had it handy THIS early...)

Yes; that's a typo, I believe. Mwalgi should be Mwangi.

The Forbidden Jungle was an early name for the Mwangi Expanse, I believe, while Vandu was indeed an early name for Vudra.

This one I'm not sure about. It's not the Ruins of Kho, since that would have been mentioned in particular in the entry rather than it just mentioning the headwaters. This might be a fragment we never followed up on.

Bhopan isn't on the Gazetteer map; this stuff happens to the south, I believe.

Thanks a lot, James! It's always great how quick you can get an answer here from you guys. :)

Bhopan is in the Obari Ocean between Garund and Vudra.

The "headwaters" lake became Lake Ocota.

Thanks, Erik. Not exactly what I'd call a mountain lake. :) I'll amend the text for my players a bit to fit the current state of things.
