Are we getting a DM screen? If not PLEASE.
If there are plans for a DM Screen, please make it Landscape and use heavy. One of the things I thought I read somewhere was that the 4E screen from WotC was going to be of a thickness similar to that of a board game (I believe Monopoly was the example given).

Good DM screen, easy to transport, unfold, and easy to decipher. Yes, please.

YES to Landscape: Much easier for me to see over when I need to check out what's happening on the Flip Mat.
HELL YES to Heavy! When it's warm or stuffy, I like to have a ceiling fan going but the traditional cardstock DM screens just aren't sturdy enough to remain standing. If the DM Screen was as heavy as a Monopoly board though, that would be great.
Other suggestions:
DM-Side: Apply the same coating that is used on the Flip Mats. I'd love to be able to circle or highlight info that is important to the current session without permanently staining my DM screen.
Player-Side: Use a parchment texture (like seen behind overland maps) rather than actual artwork cover, and cover it in the Flip Mat coating. This way, DMs can use their Sharpies to sketch out quick overland maps, leave notes about key NPCs and places (using the correct spelling of proper names), etc. in a place where the rest of the party will always be able to see it.
Magnetized: It would be very cool if the extra magnets from our Combat Pads could stick to the DM screen. This would also be useful for sticking notes or a printed illustration on the DM screen the without need for tape or clips that could damage the screen.
For a well-made, well-designed tool like this I'd be willing to pay as much as I would for a good splat book.

We won't be coming out with a DM screen until the PFRPG is finished next August. But soon after that, my friends, soon. :)

I just bought a landscape insert DM screen from Paizo, and I'm assembling insert sheets to go in it, on both sides. If you guys can give me some suggestions on what you have found useful, I'll incorporate them and post the sheets for everyone.
Of course, you will need to buy the blank DM screen from Paizo ... :)

Holy cow, there are some cool ideas in this thread for new screen! I love the idea of a water-soluble material on both sides, and the reverse side for quick player reminders.
My suggestion: During todays session, the DM was hunched over leering into his 3.5 screen and remarked
"I wish these things were a little taller so I didn't have to lean in like this"
I fully agree, make the screens taller. This is especially a problem with the Wizards 3.5 screen, as it is almost impossible for a player not to see your horde of minis, dice rolls, DM notes, or other stuff. It would be fine if we were 12 years old and short, but alas we are not.
Again I say: Taller DM Screens Please!
OOO! And weights to clip onto the sides for summertime screen-door-open gaming!

Found it! The World's Greatest Screen
That's pretty damn close to what I was sugesting above actually. Except the panels are in portrait orientation (tall) vs. landscape (low). Also, while wet-erase panels are nice, I've got a collection of nearly a dozen Flip Mats now. I can almost guarantee that screen would last for maybe 3 sessions before I forget that I can't use my dry erase and Sharpie markers and end up ruining it like I did my old Mega Mat (see my reviews).
Still, for someone who is more careful...

Thanks. Looks like what I have been looking for for a while. Score.

This one is the one I have. Requires a little work to make your own panels, but it's 3 panels wide (landscape orientation). Put two of them together and it might be exactly what you need.
If I could find it on the Paizo site I'd link it here, but this was the best I could do.

Slanky, it looks like Paizo is selling that one here. I think it's the same as the one you linked to. It looks good :)

Anybody looking for a landscape GM screen should check this one out. It's very high quality (plastic backing over heavy cardboard, about the weight of a 3 ring binder cover). It has see-through pockets to place your own DM screen material (meaning you can focus on what you can never remember).
Hmmm...maybe I should buy a second.

I picked one of these up at Origins, and it is a thing of beauty. I can even slide my new Gamemastery Combat Pad initiative tracker into one of the sleeves, although it sits sideways. But I can read sideways, so it's all good.

Perhaps it could be included with the 2009 PRPG release! Just a thought! ;)
They'd have to raise the price. Maybe as a bundled 'deluxe' pack where you save $5 or so off buying them separately.
I'd like to ask for four panels, rather than three. Like many DMs, I use a laptop, and a three panel screen barely gives enough room for the laptop, plus maybe a few 3x5 cards. With four panels, I'd have enough room to have the computer, plus dice and a book or two (Like, say, the current Pathfinder AP.)

I might do something similar - but with another company's screen. If I'm going to glue stuff onto it, I can as well support another company. :)

Thanks for that link, Grindor! I tried the one Slanky provided (thanks anyway!), but it didn't work for me; think IE was having a hissy fit again. :-P
But the one from Paizo was successful. Good Website builders! Extra cookies! ;->

I'm working on a 3-page landscape Pathfinder GM reference doc for insertion to the Savage Worlds screen.
Right now here's what I'm planning to include:
* Skill base DCs and standard modifiers (excepting Craft, Knowledge, & Profession -- this is the bulk of the info)
* Attack Roll Modifiers
* Defense Modifiers
* XP Chart
* CMB stuff
Any other suggestions? Once I've got something I'm more or less satisfied with I'll put it up (somewhere) for free download.
