Im wondering how progress is going at Pazio Hope there are none of the delays and we can get it tommarrow or Friday
It's still in layout. After which it goes to edit. After which it goes back to layout, and THEN it gets turned into a PDF. It's a big document. Bigger than a volume of Pathfinder, at this point. It's going to probably take till Friday to get through layout, and then it'll likely take one of us all weekend to edit it, and then Jason will, enter the edits into the document on Monday, which means we MIGHT be able to get the PDF done as early as Tuesday. That's assuming nothing goes wrong and all that, of course.
My prediction, to be on the safe side, is that we'll have release 2 up by the middle of next week. If something happens to delay it further, we'll certainly let you all know.

Waiting for the next alpha release is starting to be a more excruciating than watching for UPS after the AP ships.
. . .none of you really need sleep, do you?

Yes, but this is even worse. There's no electronic wonder fairy going to bring us the PDFs before we get the actual book. This time we're just waiting for the PDF! Arrrggh!
Paladins and Sorcerers are my favorite classes of all. This is killing me, too.

NO!!!
Can I have the sorcerer at least? I don't care if it were a poorly formated Rich Text Doc, as long had the info by my next game...
Please? Petty Please? Maybe..?
Alright, I be good. *Quietly waits for Alpha 2*

I hope it has monster conversions in it. My groups players have just been completely decimating all encounters with the new classes. The only things that can stand up to them are npcs who are classed with pathfinder levels, and those only last 2 rounds instead of 1. its ridiculous.
This is exactly the problem many of us were worried about having happen w/the newly tweaked classes. Either have to tweak all the npcs to PF classes or figure out how many extra bad guys make things equal for each fight
| KnightErrantJR |
I'm actually kind of relieved, since I was worried that it would come out right before game night, and then I'd have to have the very hard choice of introducing it without much preview and slowing down the session to convert more characters over, or just ignoring it until next session. Now, at least I don't have to make the choice myself . . . ;)

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOoooooooooooooooooooooo ooooooooooooooo*gasp*oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo......o.
I was so looking forward to a weekend of updated sorcerers and barbarians too Q.Q
i PRAY sorcerers are equal to wizards in when they get their spells now. I always found that as underpowering and unnecessary.

Bummer I was hoping to have this by the weekend too, but oh well. Once I've got the second batch of classes, I think I'll see about getting some people together and trying an actual playtest. Maybe run them through RoRL or CoCT, or maybe just do something back in the prehistory of my homebrew setting. (The "present" of which is so incredibly loaded with psionics, steamtech elements from several different companies, and alternate magic systems that I'm not sure any data I got would be useful...)

A PDF of Ptolus? Reading the hard copy was difficult enough, and I don't mean from a readability standpoint. You don't realize just how HUGE Ptolus is until you actually try to digest it all.

Yeah I pre-ordered The Brick(tm) thru Monte's site and it really is as insanely big (and awesome) as people say. I can't very well suggest people go look for it locally tho. Unless they have a lucky gamestore who still has a copy, then I say buy it as quick as you can, worth every penny.

BLAST.
Is there any chance we could get a few text copy-pastes from class abilities? This would sate my hunger for new information.

So impatient. You guys do realize there's a very good chance that in a year + a few months from now, the Alpha will mean nothing right? Hell it means nothing right now, everything is subject to weekly changes. Something you like.. like the new skill system.. could be gone in a flash.
The point is, you all need to calm down. A new class that's subject to change isn't going to make your weekly game anymore complete then it is now. And if you're not in a game and dying for Alpha 2, you need to go find a game instead of obsessing about something you can't use.

They're just excited and enthusiastic, and these comments are in a thread specifically on the topic of when it comes out (as opposed to being in another thread).
So why exactly do you care?
Let 'em be excited. It doesn't diminish you in any way. It's not like you couldn't tell what the topic of the thread was by the subject line.
Just cut 'em some slack.

So nobody is allowed to be excited at the prospect of the new classes? Nobody is allowed to be anxious to implement the new classes into a game for Playtest purposes? I started this thread for those reasons. Who cares that it is gonna change, my playtest may be one of the reasons for that change. WE are being included in a very cool playtest process and most of us are excited about it. Everything is subject to change because WE are helping to figure out the problems and help to make the system into what it is becoming.
Why the sour grapes? Something get changed that you liked? My point is, you need to calm down and stop harshing on people that are enthusiastic about this process.

Excitement and asking on a daily basis "is it out yet" are two different things if you ask me. We were told it'd be out this week or next week right off the bat and now people are disappointed when it didn't make it out this week.
If it's not exaggerated posting, then some people need to dial down their excitement before they burst a blood vessels, get a nose bleed, or something else. :P

I watch the ripples change their size
But never leave the streamOf warm impermanence and
So the days float through my eyes
But still the days seem the same
And these children that you spit on
As they try to change their (game)
Are immune to your consultations
They're quite aware of what they're going through
Lol... :P

I'm just as eager as the next guy -- but I can wait. I'm using the Alpha rules that fit my game, and I'm giving feedback on those selected rules. As more come out, or are refined, I'm streamlining my House Rule document.

I am as eager as the next guy after the next guy trying to cut into line. Although I can wait for next week for this product. It sounds like it is going to be huge in size, so I guess it is re-writing a good amount of items from Alpha. With that being said I wouldn't want it now for my game on Sat, definitely need some time to read it so I can explain it to the players.
But...still as eager child for that first toy!!!

This is the complete list of sorcerer bloodlines in Alpha release 2.
Aberrant

Each one has a list of 8 bonus feats you get to choose from as you gain levels and five different powers that you gain as you advance. I'll post up another bit tomorrow.

Hmm quick question Jason.. is the Arcane bloodline the bloodline for sorcerers that "don't want to be a freak" family tree? Kind of the Universalist for Wizards.
Does Alpha release 2 contain all NEW material only, or does it contain the info from release 1 updated from feedback along with it?
Unless something changed since they last answer the question, it should be formated like 1.1, One big PDF of all the rules. Then a PDF on the side with change/design notes that you don't use for gaming. :)

Considering the scope of changes and additions that occured with this document, Alpha release 2 will contain all of the content from release 1. We wanted to do them as seperate documents, but the amount of changes meant that it did not make much sense to do it that way.

The thought behind the arcane bloodline is that this is the bloodline that 3.5 sorcerers take. For backwards compatibility and all that; they're the ones who are easiest to fill in that specific theme and role.

Of course. I happy because a small bit of what I was thinking it would be like is true. Heck, the sole reason I am playing a sorcerer in the map group is because of these changes. The moment I saw the little note at the end about the bloodlines, I had an idea of where this was going. If half of what I see this going is true, I will be happy.
Otherwise Seth would have been my PC for the maptools group.

seths fine where he is I have plans for him lol.
Yeah the whole take has got me excited to see where it goes. Its funny I ended up the fighter I normally am a spellcaster when I get to play. I cant say I have seen any class change I have not liked really.
I have not as well. Even if it does not tickle my fancy, I can see where they are going with the changes.
And you may like Seth now, but Seth is the test character for a build. While not a true min-max, I intend to see if my build is over-powered or not. The idea is to use Devastating Blow along with the scythe for 200+ damage as a standard action.
If I can get Seth to a STR of 30 and at level 20, picking the scythe as my weapon mastery for the Crit 5x. I use Devastating Blow along with Power Attack:
Damage: 10d4+220(5 heavy blade weapon training+ 5 enchantment bonus from the weapon+15 STR bonus+15 from power attack+ 4 from greater weapon specialization)
For 8 of Seth's 23 feats. I am not sure that one shotting a Pit Fiend is overpowered(In comparison to what others can do).
I *heart* the new fighter. The secret to the new fighter is to multiply that weapon bonus using feats. Two-weapon fighting gives you an extra 40 points of damage for example.
