SINISTER ADVENTURES = Not an April Fool's Joke...
That's right Lords and Ladies of Paizo.
I've launched my own publishing studio, nothing gigantic, but we're scrappy, and we don't disappoint. Come check us out. We've got adventures and articles by Greg A. Vaughan, Wolfgang Baur, Craig Shackleton and myself for sale right now here:
Pick up an adventure by Greg Vaughan for $3. That's also not an April Fools' Joke...I'm just an April Fool!
Get an article on adventuring under the sea by Wolfgang, or one on the dueling arts in D&D by Rambling Scribe, both for a $1.50.
Come snag a Core Beliefs style article on an all new deity - an ancient Shark God of slaughter newly re-risen from the deeps, for $2.
Or read a little bit amount the DARK VISTAS, the main event yet to come.
Or just drop by and check out the Game Designer Blog
Or listen to our official podcast DARK WHISPERS
Let the madness begin!

You.. and Pett? Working together? Surely this heralds the end of all things! Fire in the skies! All chocolate transformed into carob! Doom, I say! DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO*gulp*OOOOOOOOOOOOM!
I need to pre-order some of that!
Be afraid...be very afraid...I know I am...I'm very afraid of Pett! :-(
;-)

Whoa! Pett and Logue writing an adventure together? I will have to take a look at the Ebon Shroud when it comes out.
Best of luck Mr. Logue, I hope your firm is able to make a go of it.
One question, who will be doing the cartography for the Razor Coast and Ebon Shroud?
The wildly talented Rob Lazzaretti is my go to guy for map glory!

Nick - can you give a little more info on how all this stuff works? Is this like legos, where you can buy each piece separately and then put them together? Is the 130 page adventure going to be sold piecemeal? How exactly will it be non-linear?
Great question!
The first chapter of every Dark Vista details the mini-campaigns main villains and their dread agendas (most of which involve awful things for the people living within hundreds of leagues of them) and also gives detailed info on the three major potential story arcs for each. The second chapter is called "Inciting Incidents and Chance Meetings" and basically supplies the GM with a bunch of tiny teaser encounters that draw the party into the three main arcs or one of several side treks. There is no linear plot. The PCs have a bunch of encounters in their face, and they can get involved with the adventures behind them in ANY way they want. The mega-modules build to a climax, but the PCs actions could completely avert it, or make it even worse for everyone. It's all about hard choices and conflicts you need more than just a sturdy sword or fiery spell to overcome. Though those will definitely help when you are staring down the bastard spawn of demon and kraken. ;-)
The Indulgences are all unique content...they aren't previews as much as they are supplemental articles to the Dark Vistas. You can plug em in and rock em out (in the case of adventures) or you can just run with them and use the content in your own games (they are not "wed" to the Vistas, only dovetail nicely into them).
I hope that makes some sense. The podcast is pretty informative about all this. I highly recommend giving it a listen. But shoot any more questions my way!

But maintaining the celebratory tone, I love the water and underwater based content!
That's a sure sale for me!
There's a TON of underwater action and action on the waves in Razor Coast. I personally LOVE this genre and wanted to do it up right. If you dig on undewater adventures, Greg's "Blood Waters" is pretty cool and the "Death Beneath the Waves" article Wolf wrote is really pure brilliance and a must have for GMs who dig on diving the life aquatic.

That helps. Will there be an absolutely complete bundle or subscription option or some other method to tag which articles fit the best with which adventure?
Sounds pretty cool though.
The Indulgences available now are all tied to Razor Coast. They will be for the next two months or so.
Around June you'll see some Indulgences that relate to Cold Black...ohmigods, TONS of the Werecabbages are hard at work right now on a project for me that has me absolutely drooling...their think-tank collective outline they just sent me blew my mind.
Around August you'll see content tying into The Ebon Shroud.

Nick, from your description on the podcast, it sounds like everything needed to use the Dark Vistas as campaign settings will be right there in the books.
Do you see these settings as branching out into product lines? Or are we looking at one Dark Vista per setting, surrounded by a bunch of indulgences to back it up?
Or is this something you have yet to decide?
What's up there now looks awesome!

This is pretty spot on. There is another feature that will be available soon that I don't want to give too much away about.
But...
I am very excited about the Dark Vistas growing in a very organic way, and the storylines of each one being further explored and extended by Indulgences BASED ENTIRELY ON WHAT CUSTOMERS WANT TO SEE. Power to the people. Much more to come on this soon.
But yes! You don't need the Indulgences to run the Dark Vistas and vice versa, but they go really well together like peanut butter and world domination. :-)
What's up there now looks awesome!
Thanks!

Holy s#*@!
Congrats my man. The new site is awesome, and the product lines sound really good.
Btw, do you hear that? That's the sound of my gaming budget expanding.
Thanks eyebite! Your work on the Open Design Blog is AWESOME! In fact you inspired me to whip up one of the Cloven Nine...with your blessing of course, if I can have it?
I'll post him tonight if you say okay!

Wait . . . I like gritty games, they're my favorite type!
So methinks me is going to like this too!
Now for the question I have to ask because I tend to be *that guy*
Seriously, Mr. Logue, you have outdone yourself again. Bravo, bravo, and good luck. I can't wait to get my hands on some of this stuff.

No problems on my side. Had a little trouble doing the checkout process, but it was caused by my own security settings.
Can you please work out some sort of FAQ, especially related to those pesky shipping&handling issues for print products that we overseas customers have to deal with?
BTW, I skimmed the Indulgences. Great art and clean layout overall, and "Art of the Duel" is S-W-E-E-T. Parry! Riposte! Lunge! Ah!

Thanks for the tip Dark Joy! I'll check it out!
Edit: Hmmmm...working okay on my browsers. Anyone else having troubles?
Anyway, I am entering that challenge of yours. Might even purchase that Dajobas PDF, although that risks getting into your mind ;>

HA! I'll be dancing to the "where's that GSL WOTC!" tune just like everyone else for now! No plans for 4E yet!
Castles and Crusades, True 20, Runequest...oh yes, I think so!

Nick, I'm so stoked I can't sit still!
Yeah, I knew Craig could sword fight like a demon, but I had NO idea just how cool he could make it in D&D. He's a maestro with sword and pen if you ask me...though I'm not sure which one is mightier in the Scribe's poet-swordsmaster's hands truth be told.

This is fantastic news, congratulations! Hear that? It's my wallet crying!
But a little sad, too, I mean if the clones Nic had made of himself to work for Paizo's organized play, write Pathfinder and Gamemastery modules, run Iron DM, be a husband, freelancer, AND running his own imprint don't all go heyday bonkers and try to assassinate one another, that is.
