I believe was looking for Justin to make Merle a headband of charisam +4 and a belt of dexterity +4?
FIFY ;)
Yeah indeedly doodly!
I'm sure that we dont have time for me to craft EVERYthing, but major items like that, and several smaller ones for peeps (like a beneficial bandolier for Blayze, and a few Handy Haversacks, etc) is on my 'To-Do' list.
(I might add that Justin's 'To-Do List' is the only thing I know of that might be longer than my OWN RL to-do list!)
;P

Probably should pick up one of those null stone things. Any utility items you'd recommend for Alessia? If not, in the interest of traveling light, she'll probably just stick with the stone.
Question: are smoked goggles necessary for someone who technically doesn't have any eyes?
I would pick up spelunking gear. And a mining pick. If you don’t have eyes ... the goggles ... they do nothing..

?!?
Looks like I have Googling to do.
(Sorry, havent watched a Simpsons episode in YEARS now. It kind of lost its charm after so many years/episodes. Cant believe they are still making it?!?)
Arkhan??? <Gooes to Google,... gets lost in the web-i-verse,...>
FYI, I will be out of town, out of my state, and likely out of my mind over Mardi Gras break. I will be leaving either late Friday or EARLY Saturday morning, drive to Florida where I will spend 3 fun-filled days and sleep-deprived nights playing in Harry Potter World at Universal Studios, and then drive back on Wednesday. Because Only my Son has the rest of the week off. Me, my wife and my daughter ALL have to go back to Work/school on Thursday.
;P
SO, if I don;t post, sorry! I'm probably playing Harry Potter Wizards Unite IN Harry Potter world! ;P
I WILL (try) to post Justins shopping/creation list before I escape though!
:)

Yeah they actually do. The quality has suffered. That quote was from its golden age though.

Joe Mangiello’s character. Probably the most famous DND player. Google his game room. Absolutely sick.

Lol. While most want to go to New Orleans now, you flee. But, having lived in a highly-visited area I can sympathize. Fourth of July weekend was a time of evacuation on the Cape.
I WILL (try) to post Justins shopping/creation list before I escape though!

Coolio! Have fun in FLA!

OK,
From Magic item Compendium,
Armor Crystals (attach to armor, only 1 at a time may be attached, but can be swapped out for another if desired)
Armor Crystal of Adaptation- Least- As Endure Elements spell
Cost 500GP to buy, 250 for Justin to make.
With The Master Monkey's permission, these may be the easiest/quickest means of getting us all Endure Elements. :)
Also, 'Clasp (Armor Crystal) of energy protection' Least, also 500GP (250 GP to make) acts as Resist Energy 5,(must pick one of Fire, Cold, Acid, Electricity, Sonic when made) absorbs up to 25 pts of energy Dmg per day, then becomes inert until the next day.
Again, can only wear ONE of these at a time, but if you buy/make one of fire, cold, etc, you can be ready for the next situation. :)
Just ideas,... ;P

Dear Dungeon Monkey,
;)
Justin's proposed purchase/creation list & costs
-Justin's BASIC Blasting Rod (+1 Fiery Rod, adds +1d6 to all fire spells)3,000GP
*From Magic Item Compendium: (previously OK'd, but as you decide!) :)
*-Slotted Staff 1,000GP (Must buy, he does not have create Staff, yet) :)
Holds 1 rod and 1 wand, which can be used without having to trade items
*-Rod of Frost, 1,500GP (750 to make)
3/day 30' line of frost, 2d6 dmg, extinguish fires, freeze water to 1' depth & walk on it
-Lesser Rod- SELECTIVE- (1,500GP to make)
-Lesser Rod- EXTEND- (1,500gp to make)
-Lesser Rod- GIANT SUMMONS- (1,500gp to make)
(Applies simple giant template to summoned critters, basically +1 AC, +2 to hit/dmg IIRC)
-Casters bandolier 1,000GP to buy, (500gp to make)
(Same cost/powers as Beneficial bandolier, but for casters stuff, scrolls, wands, potions, etc) basically holds 20 small items, 1/rnd may draw/swap an item as a Swift action with no AoO, (teleports to hand)
-Handy Haversack- (1,000gp to make)
-Beneficial bandolier (500gp to make) Justin will make this for Blayze, in exchange for the Efficient Quiver that held the arrows she turned into ammo) (He'll NEED it for those rods, staff, etc) :)
-Belt of Dex +2- 4,000 (2,000gp to make)
-Empowered Spellshard 3rd level spells (Add to Justin Bound Item/amulet, actual cost 6,000gp, 3,000gp to make, bound item cost 1,500gp)
-Hat of Disguise Lesser (as Disguise Self) 1,800gp, (900gp to make)
-Sleeves of many garments- 200gp (100gp to make)
-Bottled Blade- 1,500GP (750gp to make) alchemical item, 1/day you may empty the bottle and turn the alchemical formula into a weapon of your choice, considered masterwork , lasts for 1 hour. IF you mix a weapon blanch with it first, the blanch lasts the entire hour, instead of just the first hit as usual.
-assorted weapon blanches, 250GP :)
-Assorted scrolls of spells, to be scribed into spellbook, including 'Crafters Fortune', 'Masterwork transformation' & 'Fabricate' to aid in item creation. 1,000GP
-Wiz Lab set up- 1,000GP
*-Armor Crystal- LEAST- Armor Crystal of Adaptation (As Endure Elements)
500GP, (250 gp to make)
I THINK that adds up to 20,000GP, (BUT I suck at math) ;P
Justin will take and make shiny trinkets for his girlfriend too :)
his 10th lvl feat is Create Rod
For the items that he does not have the prerequisites, (Feats for Rods for example) he will take the +5 difficulty to the DC creation roll. (And use Crafters fortune to help make up for it!) ;)
If you decide that he must have failed at least a few rolls, even with Memnons help, I will cut some of the 'fun' stuff to make up for the increased GP cost. :)
Oh yeah, I need to buy some heavy duty gloves and such too,... ;P
ON WITH THE SHOW!
Ragadolf
Cool!
Um,.. sorry for the long post? (Not sorry, JUSTIN!) ;)
I WAS only going to write ONE paragraph, really! (OK, maybe TWO) honest!
Buuuuut I started writing,...
;P
On the plus side, I have decided (with YOUR permission) that when I (FINALLY) stat up Memnon for us, I will give him 1 level of wizard. This will give him easy access to a few low-level spells for potion-making, AND give him access to cantrips like Prestidigitation, and Mage Hand,
Invaluable tools when you are a Genius Alchemist Crystal Skull with NO HANDS trying to mix potions! ;P
Busy day, gotta prep and pack for my RL trip today,... (Nope, Havent started. Yet.) ;P So this will likely be my last post(s) til after Ash Wednesday.
Happy Mardi Gras Ya'all!!
:)

From what I understand the GM of that game is a kid I grew up with from Jersey. Didn't bother to look him up as he wore out his welcome with me.

Yeah that’s fine. Probably he needs some expert levels in sage or the like. We’ll figure it out

Oh and I’m afraid Memnon’s voice is going to become less like Bob and more like Skippy the Magnificent from the Expeditionary Force Series by Craig Alanson. If you haven’t read them, I highly suggest doing so. In fact, I would recommend the audiobooks which are expertly read by RC Bray.

Huh, is that a GOOD fear or a bad one? ;)
I do not know this series, but your suggestion of Kevin Hearne's Druid series was awesome, I shall check THIS one out as well! :)
<Adds to list in IPHONE. A very large, ever-growing list,...>
;)
Well, I'll AIM for Bob the Skull in the meantime, and I have you to correct me if I go TOO far off course! :)
Happy Mardi Gras!
I am OUTTA HERE!
Wizzie has LEFT THE BUILDING! ;P

I enjoy it greatly as well. Waiting for the next book. Sometimes it's a curse to be a speed reader!!!
Maybe he drinks and/or eats the various potion ingredients and swishes them around in his mouth? I don't see how that works either, with no flesh, but it would be funny, at least.
...
Is he going to call us stupid monkeys a lot?

Hah, perfect. :)
(PS-) I'm BAAAAACK!
(PSS-) I went to hobnob with my fellow wizards at Hogwarts, (currently located in Orlando, FL) to get away from Mardi Gras.
And what did Aging Wizard find when he got there?
All of Universal Studios Decked out for Mardi Gras, complete with a parade (including a scaled down version of the infamous "Baccagator" float) ;P
Some days, I Just. Can't. Win. >_<

welcome back! Good to see your bearded face about.
I’m going to try and keep the narrative moving by making Memnon a bit bossier. Only if we have a lull. I think when things start stalling it becomes a self-perpetuating cycle. I know I am the most guilty, but I want to work on keeping things rolling.
If anyone feels like posting ‘color’ feel free. It’s the main strength of this medium.
Flash, buddy, I hope you are out there. HAvent heard anything from Sophi lately.
Monkey ... OUT

welcome back! Good to see your bearded face about.
Thanks! I Had fun, (seems like I spent most of the trip walking around Universal Parks with my daughter, both of us wearing our Harry Potter robes that I made) but its good to be back home too.
(Sadly, my son is in that 16-year-angsty 'I'm WAY too cool to be caught dead doing something like THAT' phase right now,... ;P

Ooh, I think that is brilliant! AND fun! Memnon IS pretty bossy anyways. ;P Have fun with that!
Oh yeah, Flash?
Heck, I cant even keep track of myself lately! I'm busy at work, AND I got talked into doing two shows that overlap. (Yeah, they didn't have to talk TOO hard, the shows are fun, and I'm a glutton for punishment) ;P
ON with the SHOW! :)

Dave, I think in the interest of moving the narrative along, we should just write up a bit where you talked to Mara at the funeral and got the Ioun Stone.
I have been thinking about making a discrete thread for individual narrative stuff. That way people can go do something they want their PC to accomplish and we could agree it happened and still role play out the events without slowing the main story. Things are complicated for sure.
Just like you Rags, I ended up re-reading basically the last three years of story. It’s great, but I noticed a lot of details I had written in that I totally forgot. There’s items, treasure, details on Erelhi-Cinlu, etc. it’s my fault with the gaps in time, the writing process I use which is often shoot-from-the-hip , and my increasingly faulty memory. But I am going to try and get a ‘story bible’ together to track the important bits.
Patrick Curtin
OK! I thought this was a good idea, so Dave, a solo bit of role play for you on the shiny new thread!
If anyone wants to do a side piece, or explore a facet of their character in detail but don’t want to bog the main story down, this new thread will be a good spot to do it. We can explore times spent with NPCs , shopping trips, or even past events in your characters backstory. I’m going to make an OOC thread there you can propose things you’d like to do with your character.

I'll see what I can do, though I've found that after 20 years of RPGs, I'm better at the "G" part than I am at the "RP" part. I'm really fine with staying out of the spotlight most of the time. (Much like my other long-running hobby, Magic: the Gathering, I get most of my kicks from trying out weird builds and seeing if they work.)
David M Mallon
I can see that(?) Although I have not read too many of the short stories, mostly the novels. (Which, by todays standards, would be considered 'Novelettes")
;)
I pretty much ignore anything not written by Robert E. Howard (other than a few relatively recent comic books), so I guess I'm including one novel and one novella here.
