LOL, is all good Pat!

Just happy to see your smiling Monkey Icon posting again!
;)

DO NOT STICK FINGERS IN CAGE

It’s good to see you all as well.

Folks, it’s not easy. I’m having issues, I’ll be frank. But, I am committed to staying engaged and getting through this hump. It’s more finding time. I’m writing this directly under the Pentagon (the metro goes under it). My night is spoken for, and the weekend is already crazy. I have my first PF2,game firing up, and I’ve been invited to play in a Buffy the Vampire Slayer RPG game.

Still, I have a ton of super-fun sights and fights planned. Erelhi-Cinlu should be off the hook. Y’all need to cremate Rhiannon and get grooving

Stay tuned

LOL,
I love the way you just so CASUALLY toss off 'traveling under the pentagon' as normal for you now! ;)

I for one am glad to hear that at least some of your busy schedule is for FUN! I will never interfere with that! (And I am glad you still consider us as part of the fun!) ;P

Sounds cool, maybe drop us a hint of how the other stuff is going once in a while?

In the meantime, just let us know when you want 'Full-IC chatty chat chat' and 'short OOC synopsis to move it along' so we can help you to help us!

;)

Oooh, and let us (ME) know how the PF2 rules play, I havent gotten to look at the new rules much yet, and I'm VERY interested in how those play out. (Again, presuming that you find time to provide such insight in text form) ;P

Especially if you consider it might be something that we switch to for this thread in the future? Then it will for sure move to the top of my research list! ;P

(NOTE- that would make the third incarnation of the rules that Justin has gone through in this thread. If we do that. I get goosebumps thinking about it. The good kind) ;)

DO NOT STICK FINGERS IN CAGE

Lol. I will have to see. I haven’t played PF2 at all, or been following the play test, and rumor has it it’s not very backwards compatible. Paradoxically I’ve been playing a lot of 5e lately, it’s a decent game, easy to pick up, but not as customizable as OF.

Yeah my weeks are a mix of crazy work and crazy play. It’s good, yet it hampers this, as at one point this was my only outlet when I was stuck grinding out an overnight shift by myself at a desk. Take the next few days:

Friday: work till 4, commute till 5, walk and feed and play with dog until six, exercise until 830.

Do various chores until bed

Saturday:

5am chores and dog
8am exercise
1030 - travel to DC-free museum day
530 - attend reading by Margaret Atwood at Lincoln Theater
9(?) return home sndvtake care of pup

Sunday
5am chores and dog
8am exercise
1030 Starfinder D20 game
230 PF2 D30 game
6pm Buffy the Vampire slayer session 0

Sooo. You see? It’s a fun but full schedule

Sounds great. Enjoy!

I am happy to wait to see what you come up with here when you do :-)

On a happy note:

To celebrate the reboot, I am finally going forward with the Art I once commissioned from James Keegan. We worked out a pay-as-you-go System, and the piece will be a triptych featuring the characters and the NPCs at the Copper Cauldron. What I need is for everyone to post an updated description of your character, so we can get the details right. I’ll forward them to James.

Dark Archive

I have pics of my characters so I could send them to you if that would work better?

DO NOT STICK FINGERS IN CAGE

Sure. Spamreef [aat] Hotmail [dawt] com

DO NOT STICK FINGERS IN CAGE

Well PF2 is quite different than PF1. I think for the time being we should probably keep this one PF 1 ... at least until the bugs are shaken out. The action economy is very different

Dark Archive

I'll be honest I have zero intrest in pathfinder 2E

Heh, yeah sounds good.

I am not saying we should switch, just thought it would be funny RP wise if we did. ;P

Still interested in knowing how it plays out though. I've only done a LITTLE reading about the playtest, and didn't get to actually read the play test rules or participate.

Yep, that is both crazy and fun!

I'm just glad your able to work all that into your days!

That is awesome,..; wait, they have a Buffy the Vampire slayer RPG now?
How did I miss that?!?

Agreed. Hell my table top is still 3.5 with some slight Pathfinder modifications.

I plan on running 5E for a Dark Sun campaign in several years just because the switch from 2ed books to 5E is easier than 2ed to 3.5. Other than that, I am done learning or buying any new gaming systems. It's unlikely I'll ever run all the adventures I own now before I die, unless I win the lottery and retire to run games full time :-)

DO NOT STICK FINGERS IN CAGE

Yeah I’m kinda in that boat. My collection is massively D&D up to 3.5 and basically almost all of PF1 (which all works well together with minimal fuss). I have the core PF2 PDF, and I think that’s about all I’ll need for now. I just don’t have the cash or time to be a super subscriber. Heck, there’s books I’ve bought I’ve barely looked at.

It’s been out for a while I guess. I’m excited.

Yeah the craziness continues. My job is heating up with a lot of cases coming in. My little agency has been in the news a lot when th the whole Facebook/ Experian stuff (it’s really odd to work with people who took on the Zuck For 5 billion ... like literally steps away). Lots of work dumped in my lap lately. I picked up a ticket to go see The Hu in a bar in DC Tomorrow. I’m going to a Laotian cultural festival Saturday afternoon and a blues show that evening (Patrick Sweany).

I am really enjoying life now, but it leaves me scratching for time to post. I’m getting a new (well, refurbished) computer this weekend, and I’m hoping that this will inspire more attendance to this game. My laptop is ancient and unreliable and a phone can only do so much.

I’ll keep you updated. As far as I can see, it’s a perfectly fine system. Three actions a round gives you more actions or combinations of actions. It’s just not similar to 3.5/PF1. I’ll play it, but I’m not going to build a massive collection of stuff. Those days are over.

That is crazy,... AWESOME! Everything sounds great. Even being busy at work sounds like a good thing! ;)

Hey, I'm glad to hear you are enjoying life, I'm only a little jealous.

Stay busy, and stay sane! (too late for me!) ;P

Yeah, life is good. I had a random awesome thing happen today.

So I was assisting with a workshop dealing with regulatory issues, and one of the panelists was an executive from the jewelry industry. I noticed he had the One Ring on his finger (yup-that one). Now, it seemed odd to me, this man was a powerful executive, mid seventies, dressed in a sober three-pieced suit. Not who you would expect to be sporting a piece of serious Tolkien gear. So I complimented him on his ring, which pleases him. He took it off and let me hold it. Then as I have it in my palm he tells me it’s the first prototype made for the movie production ..... O.o

So I was holding a historical piece of jewelry today, that was also a beautiful gold ring with the Dark Speech inscription, just like the movies.

I love my life sometimes

DO NOT STICK FINGERS IN CAGE

So here’s a video I took at last nights concert The Hu

It was a good show, but the weekday thing threw me. I had to leave early because I needed to catch the final train and get some rest before waking up

Also pretty cool! :)

I'm not a big fan of 'hard rock' (I like my hearing, thank you)

Buuuuuut,... THAT group? with the right group of friends? I would totally go and see them!

Sorry you had to skip out early, the crowd looked like they were having a good time!

Three words you never imagined you would hear together,
"Mongolian', 'Folk', and 'Rock',... ;P

Welcome back Guy. Having gone through similar things, all I can offer you is my condolences and wishes that things will go smoothly for you during this difficult time

So, I have my new (well-used) computer, and I am very happy. I didn't realize how old and/or slow my laptop had gotten. Despite being an older model refurbished, this thing rockets. So I am hoping that it will inspire me to post more often :)

I had to reorient my video of the HU. The new one is >here< if you wanted to see it

Oh I'll have Blayze's description for you on FB later today.

Ditto on Welcome back Guy!

Not to sound TOO much like a copycat, but what Pat said. :)
My condolences and prayers are still with you, and your family through this time.

LOL,

Yes! I had tried to re-orient it on my screen, but could not fiqure out how to rotate it on the viewers end. ;P

Still watched it though, it was a good neck stretching exercise!
:D

Congrats on the new (to you!) Laptop.

Glad its working out.

IN-SPIR-A-TION! IN-SPIR-A-TION! ;)

I never cease to be amazed by how electronics are out-of-date by the time you get them home and out of the box,... ;P

DON'T get me started on the IPHONES! Grrrr,...
My phone works perfectly, then they announce the newer model, and THAT DAY the 'update' slows your phone to a crawl. And when you call & complain about it, they say "OH but we have the NEW model out that runs much faster now!"

>_<

I have an APP for you! <Brings out giant, animated ACME mallet>

OOF!

Thanks for the reminder!

(Sorry, been a LONG week prior. Usually dead in Sept so I am in a show, THEN had multiple events come in, including Gubernatorial debate, on the week that we opened our musical in a nearby town.) ;P

I'll likely PM it to you.
I dont think its changed much, but I might tweak it a little to reflect the adventures.

OOOH!

ALSO reminds me! It's time for another trip down memory lane!
Time for old wizzie to get another Journal chapter done! ;P

Lynora appears to be MIA in her Avalon thread, I suspect RL issues are keeping her off of the boards. Been this way for about two months. We should probably either BOT her or have her fade into the background for a while.

Karrin is a slight girl, standing only 5'4, weighing 130lbs, but she carries herself as if she were much larger. She has slightly reddish skin, red hair, sharp teeth, and silver capped horns on her head. She's got piercings and generic tattoos (whatever the planescape equivalent of tribal tats) because she thinks they make her look "bad ass", she's always got her crystal great axe (Ferissirion) and her meaty spiked gauntlet (Mitt) and short bow (which she's never used in the 10 years I've played her). Karrin wears a breast plate for her armour.

Karrin is usually up beat and smiling or she's eating, those are her two most common states of being. When in doubt think of a female hellboy.

Shadow's Status

Appearance & Personality: Hamar is a tall Human, standing 6’5’ but think and wiry weighing only 165 lbs. He is lightning quick on his feet and thinks just as quickly. He is quick to anger and slow to understand life lessons as his mouth often leads him into trouble. The right and left side of his head is shaved leaving a long mane of hair that flows down his back similar to the hair on a Hyenas back. His eyes burn with a light brown intensity to match his skin. From the numerous battles has has fought, his body is a criss-cross of wounds and scars.

Cool, Glad to hear it.

As much fun as it is being in here with you all, I do miss the old gather-round-the-table games. Carry on!

DO NOT STICK FINGERS IN CAGE

Yeah 5e has a real retro feel. Simple stat blocks, streamlined rules. I’m digging it.

I’m excited to get into the Roll20 PF2 game I have coming up soon. That should be good.

Off to Cape Cod next weekend. Thinking about heading up to Salem for some witchery in Lovecraft country. Also, the leaves should be peaking by then. Always a good show in that area.

Next weekend off to Virginia Beach. Also, first full Buffy game. Also also second 5e DM turn.

Then the weekend after that ... Denver. The Monet exhibit is opening there, and it’s the only place. Going to meet Treppa face to face and explore the mountains too.

The weekend after that ... possibly an ambassadorial event at the Romanian embassy? Idk, kinda sounds fun.

After that ... Orlando and the Electric Daisy Carnival. I’m staying with an old battle buddy from my Bliss days. He makes his own mead, it should be raucous.

Ahhhhhh....life.

Wow,...

You GO Monkey! :)

I guess I'm not adventurous to realize that all of that is even nearby me or something. :P

Homemade mead? I'm jealous!
I had some ONCE, an actress in the 'It's a Wonderful Life' play we did last December, she makes her own mead (From her own beehives!)
THAT stuff was so strong! It musta been 90-95 proof! It was Awesome!

Enjoy!

DO NOT STICK FINGERS IN CAGE

Oh I want to get to the Big Easy sometime. Once I get a decent raise it’s on my list. I have to see the place, though probably not during Mardi Gras. That’s a little TOO adventurous at my age. Plus, too many tourists. Yes, I know I’ll be one too, but having lived in a heavily-visited tourist area all my life, I appreciate the off season. I hate crowds of loud obnoxious tourists.

LOL, MArdi Gras is great,... IF YOU DONT LIVE HERE.
;P

I always enjoyed vising my wife when we were engaged during Mardi Gras, it was fun. But then I got married and moved there. I tried to make a living in the Big Sleazy during Mardi Gras,... NOT as much fun. at all. ;P

LOL, Yep, load obnoxious tourists,... we get a LOT of those, for many events.
I call them "Tourons",
IE= A Moron out of his native habitat.
:)

Which is a shame, because they tend to come out during the events that should be the most fun, Mardi Gras, Various Music festivals, etc.

BUT HEY! When you finally get around to visiting N.O., give me a shout and I'll try to be a decent tour guide. Even if there's not a 'big' event there's usually SOMETHING fun going on around the city.
:)

DO NOT STICK FINGERS IN CAGE

Thanks! I always appreciate the ‘native’ outlook. I’d be more interested in looking at historical stuff : the graveyards, the French Quarter, grabbing a beignet , maybe a real Hurricane. If there’s a good museum I’m always up for that.

heheh, My wife is the native, I'M the transplant. Which Is why i can continue to talk smack about N.O/Lousy-anna and get away with it. :D

You bethcha!
You can always check out the WW2 museum. And there are others. (Not a BIG museum city, but interesting)
The Aquarium and zoo are famous.
You MUST grab a Beignet at the Famous Cafe' Du Monde in the French Quarter, Just to say you have done so. :)
Quarter horse & buggy rides are fun and informative if you get the right driver who likes to give you the historical info on the sites your passing.
The only 'Good' Hurricanes IMHO are the ones you get from Pat O'Brian's in the quarter. Nice and sweet.
And there are a few good restaurants in the quarter area that won't cost you an arm and a leg. Maybe just from elbow to fingers,... ;P

Like I said, when your ready for that trip, give me a shout. I'm not the best tour guide on the planet, but I can help you around.
