That awkward moment when new posts in the discussion thread make you realize that you've accidentaly hidden the game thread...it's the checking the boards while half asleep that gets me every time. I'm guessing I'm pretty far behind now? I will try to catch up in the next day or so.
And I hope that things get better for you soon Patrick. I'm pretty sure you're due for a run of good luck.

No it's not good, but it is what it is. There's also an off chance I might be headed up to Cape Breton for a few years, so we might be province neighbours Guy (I'll have to work on my 'u' insertions and the metric system)
Well it is a Great part of the province if you don't mind snow, and the snow has been particularly bad this year, but they got lots of scenery.

Ragadolf |

Wow.
Um, I hope it's not as bad as it sounds Pat.
But if it is, I hope it gets REAL better REAL soon! :)
And hey, I don't think I'd mind moving to Cape Breton for a while.
Um, My wife wouldn't care for it much (Being born in Louisiana, she has an aversion to snow. It's fine when seen on vacation, but she doesn't want to have to deal with it when trying to get to work.) ;P
Well I hope things look up soon! We'll see you back here when your ready! :)

Hey is she Cajun? There's a lot of Acadians living in Nova Scotia and most Cajun/Acadians consider Nova Scotia their home land. It's a wonderful place for most of the year but the snow takes a bit of getting used to. Cape Breton usually gets a bit more snow then we on the mainland but for the last few years we haven't been getting a lot. We more then made up for it this year though.

I got plenty down here on cape cod
One thing I like about Cape Breton is it is like cape cod was forty years ago. With mountains. And it's colder, but not terribly so. 3-4 weeks of colder weather. Plus I have a bazillion rekatives there. I am mostly Hebredeian Scot heritage, but some Arcadian French, English and (apocryphal) Micmac

I've never been to Cape Cod but I've heard good things about it. It's a bit of a touristy location though isn't it?
Either way I hope you don't have to move if you don't want to.

Heh, well, TECHnically she has been called 'Cajun', but that's because most people think that anyone from south Louisiana is called that. She was born and raised in New Orleans, so she IS a southern Belle, but her family history is german on her dads side and italian on her mom's.
(Oi! The family 'discussions'!) ;P
So no, her family did not come from the Acadians/ Nova Scotia people.
And believe me, I got the italian history page by page long before I asked her to marry me. I think it's some kind of family/Italian requirement. Passing down the family history and all. ;)

Cape Cod, I think I passed through once as a teenager. Church youth choir trip probably.
Your family history sound much much exciting than mine. (Maybe because I don't know a LOT about my family tree?) ;)
Ditto on hoping you don't have to move if you don't want to!

Cape cod is pretty, but a toxic place to live. Seasonal economy (no one wants to visit in January) service-oriented (no manufacturing or otherwise, really) and prices are high due to the location and the thirst for summer residences for rich folk.
I'm done. I want off the sandbar. 14 years of scraping along and I'm just done

Heh. I feel you there monkey. I really do. :P
Good luck. I'd give you some of mine if I had any left. ;P

Ragadolf |

By the way, do any of you think we need a fighter-type to replace Issac? I know you guys do some damage, but I just wanted to get your thoughts on the matter.
Good question, and my first instinct was to cry 'YES!'
But then I realized that Karrin and Rhiannon aren't lightweights either. :)I'll go with the group on this, but I think we might be fine with who we have. We are almost evenly split between warriors and casters right now. (Unless the question was a GM hint that things might be getting very nasty very soon?!?!?) :(

Patrick Curtin |

I'll tell you what. For now I'll open this to personal recommendation. If you all know someone who'd like to play a tank type of character, let me know, and let them know. If I don't hear anything, I'll open up a recruitment open call in a few day
This is assuming no one has any objections to adding one more player.

Ragadolf |

Justin feels you can never have enough meat shields,... er,... FRIENDS to hide behind while casting! ;P
I have no objections to adding another. As has been mentioned we are short on skill monkeys, and another healer, even a backup, is never a bad idea! :)
Plus, as we all keep getting busy, another player lets us keep moving forward while the RL busy one drops unexpectedly off the map. :P
(Warning, at end of this week I am loading in the Opera show. We are doing Le Miz, and not only am I the Tech Director for the facility, I have the dubious honor of being the Lighting Designer as well. I will either be able to check in once/day, or will fall off the face of the earth for about a week.) :)

Patrick Curtin |

I think the channel energy is good enough. Turning is a dicey move anyway. The undead are still in play.
I thought tank type just because Karrin is kind of a glass cannon. Ekuur deals good damage, as does Rhiannon, but there's no one who can stand up and take the hits while the others unload.

![]() |
I think Rhiannon is a pretty solid tank, better AC, likely better HP then Karrin, so I think the only area we might be difficent at the moment is utility. We don't have a skill monkey at the moment. A bard would be ideal, they bring skills and limited healing, a straight up rogue would be cool as well.
I got no problems with more front line fighters, but as is we have Karrin, Rhiannon and Ekuur as our front and Merle, Justin and Nari to rain down pain from the back line. I think we're pretty balanced on offence, but that's just my opinion, and I'll bow to whatever everyone else thinks.

Ragadolf |

Triple,... digits,.... Damage,...??? <drool>
(Goes to work the evil MATH vs his current spell selection,...) ;P
Yes, Justin has (painfully) discovered that being able to TAKE a hit is just as important as being able to dish it out. (He's still researching his future immunity to fire. Being on the receiving end of a fireball isn't nearly as much fun as shooting them!) ;P
Again, I'll go along with the group. I'm pretty sure that those players interested in joining this madcap band will probably fit in nicely. :)
Annnnd, if the GM is hinting that we are headed into 'Spook Central', and is asking if we want to replace Issac?,...
Hey, I admit I'm slow, but I can take a hint! :)
EDIT/RE-EDIT/Dangit,...
I keep trying to say something witty, but when I re-read it, everything I type just comes across as annoying, or worse. :P Must be Monday the 13th! I'll just stop while I'm ahead,... :/

1 person marked this as a favorite. |

Right back at ya Pat!
I've said it before, and I'll say it again, thanks for letting come join the party. (Figuratively and literally) :)
You have a great storytelling style, and obviously like to have fun with it. And your fortunate to have gathered a bunch of people who like to play with as well as in your worlds. I'm just grateful for your letting play with you and have fun too! :)
Here's to 250 more pages! (For starters,...) ;)

Ragadolf |

No worries Mark. It happens to us all. :)
Actually, I might vanish shortly. :(
I'm already so tired I can't see straight, and I have to load in the Le Miz show tomorrow, and do a week straight tech, and then performances,...
So If you don't hear from me, I either passed out from lack of sleep, or got ran over by the barricade! ;P
(Which is even funnier if you know that I'm also playing the bit part of Fauchelevant, who is the guy that gets run over by the cart!) :D
See you soon,... maybe,... :/
