The Chronicler |

Bowen and Chloe, followed by Arla and Ash, come quickly to a fork in the passage. The right hand passage appears to shortly open up into a torch lit chamber. The left hand passage extends out of sight, but there is a suggestion of torchlight in its depths as well.
Rall, quickly looking over the possessions of the dying king sees firstly his large crown. The king also has a high quality ax, an oversized red and gold satin cloak with a crude painting of a
gold dragon on the back, 2 gold lip rings and four gold earrings.

Rall ponders the predicament and then decides, muttering to himself "Here goes nothing."
He begins to get dressed in the kobold's clothes as much as they will fit him.

The Chronicler |

Thirty feet of cavernous tunnel leads at last into a torch lit chamber. The chamber is unadorned except for a single large stone altar in the middle of it. The altar is bloodstaind. Lying on the altar is the naked body of an elf whose chest bears a gaping, savage wound. Standing atop this body is a wizened looking kobold with long white horns holding a bloody dagger in one hand and a bleeding mass of tissue (a heart perhaps) in the other. The kobold is in the middle of giving orders to two other kobolds who are holding a terrified bound boy between them.
Chloe recognizes the dead elf as her former comrade in arms.
The kobolds are surprised as they realize their sanctum is being iunvaded and they all three begin chattering angrily at the party as they ready their weapons. As the party wasn't trying to be stealthy, no surprise round. Initiaves if you would.
Kobold Initiative: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (19) + 1 = 20
If you beat the kobold's initiative go ahead and post an action.

Notice:

The Chronicler |

Not sure if Rall would be there yet, but here is Rall's initiative: 1d20+2
Since Rall took the time to loot and dress while the others went on ahead, I think it fair to have him come in after a couple of rounds have passed. I didn't get the feeling anyone was slowing to wait for him.

More than fair. Rall was considering staying home with his 1hp for this battle anyhow. Tell me when he can come in.

Bowen Quaid |

Initiative 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 2 = 16
Attack (battleaxe)
1d20 + 4 ⇒ (17) + 4 = 21
Damage
1d8 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8
Attack (klar)
1d20 + 3 ⇒ (20) + 3 = 23
Damage
1d6 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8
Bowen moves as soon as he is able to get to the white kobold that looks to be in charge.
I added plus one to the battleaxe rolls because I realized it was a magic weapon.

The Chronicler |

The wizened kobold chants out a string of arcane words and reaching forth, touches one of his subordinates with his bloody dagger, all the while clutching the bleeding heart in his other hand. The kobold on the recieving end of the spell seems to almost swell for a moment as his muscles ripple under his skin.
The enspelled kobold charges forward at Arla.
The remaing kobold warrior places himself between Bowen's charge and the kobold sorceror, hurling a javelin as he does so.
Charge at Arla: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (1) + 8 = 9
Javelin at Bowen: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (12) + 3 = 15
Arla attacks the kobold: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 2 = 20
damage: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6
Confirm Fumble: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (12) + 8 = 20
Ash attacks: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11
The charging kobold swings very wildly and is answered by Arla stabbing him in the side.
The thrown javelin grazes Bowen's side but his armor works to turn it aside without harm. It flies past Ash as the dog moves in and tries to bite the kobold Arla has already stabbed.
Bowen moves forward at the kobold between him and the spell caster and with a series of savage attacks kills the small warrior in seconds.
Recap: One injured kobold in melee with Arla and Ash. One kobold spellcaster atop the altar holding a knife and a bloody heart. Chloe's action...

Chloe "Clover" Verjust |

I'd like to move Chloe into position to use color spray, but I'm unsure of the positioning. Obviously, I don't want to knockout Arla and Ash. So, I'm looking to move Chloe close enough to the "enhanced" kobold warrior to hit him...and if the spellcasting kobold is within the extreme range of the effect, I'd try to include him, too. But, my primary target will be the warrior if that's not possible.
Chloe moves into range and then sends a blast of familiar multi-colored light at the face of the kobold attacking Arla.
Casting color spray (DC 14)

The Chronicler |

The final fight! (maybe) - Round 2
Kobolds - Initiative: 20
Arla - Initiative: 16
Bowen - Initiative: 16
Rall - Initiative: 7
Chloe - Initiative: 5
The kobold spellcast mutters something and the heart in his hand bursts into flame. A second later so does the knife in his other hand. Then he steps back to the edge fo the altar and begins muttering and gesturing.
Arla begins killing the kobold at her feet.
Bowen may move 5 feet forward and attack as the kobold will just be within reach. Chloe could also move forward and attack but she can't charge.

Chloe "Clover" Verjust |

Chloe leaves the fallen kobold to Arla and Ash, stepping forward to punish the kobold who slew Tynan.
I'd like to spend one of Chloe's three remaining action points to gain an extra standard action this turn so she can launch two attacks at the kobold.
Her scimitar thrums with arcane power as she furiously slashes at the menacing creature.
First melee attack with scimitar... 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 2 = 21
Damage with Arcane Strike, if applicable... 1d6 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 2 + 1 = 5
Second melee attack with scimitar... 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6
Damage with Arcane Strike, if applicable... 1d6 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 2 + 1 = 9

Bowen Quaid |

Attack (battleaxe)
1d20 + 4 ⇒ (12) + 4 = 16
Damage
1d8 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10
Attack (klar)
1d20 + 3 ⇒ (20) + 3 = 23
Damage
1d6 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9
With the end so nearly at hand, what ever it may be, Bowen takes his step towards the casting kobold and throws himself into battle hoping they can save the child.
"Get kid! Get Gone!"

The Chronicler |

Bowen and Chloe both strike the kobold spellcaster, staggering him for a moment. Whatever the spell he was casting was, he falters and loses it.
He leaps back from the altar (thus putting it between himself and his attackers) and then casts a spell at Bowen.
Bowen needs to make a saving throw (Will DC 14) or become frightened.
Rall enters the room this round.

Chloe "Clover" Verjust |

Chloe rolls her eyes and takes advantage of any momentary hesitation on the enemy kobold's part to attack him again.
I'll spend Chloe's second action point to gain another extra standard action this turn to make two attacks against the kobold.
First melee attack with scimitar... 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7
Damage with Arcane Strike, if applicable... 1d6 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 2 + 1 = 7
Second melee attack with scimitar... 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 2 = 22
Damage with Arcane Strike, if applicable... 1d6 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 2 + 1 = 8

The Chronicler |

Rall will never know for sure whether his bluff would have worked or not for by the time he gets to make the attempt, Bowen and Chloe are busy killing the last kobold in the room. As the kobold spellcaster dies, his burning knife drops to the floor and is extinguished.
The bound child is gagged and barely alive by the looks of him.

Rall Kirnast |

Does Rall take the dagger? Who is going to carry the kid? Back the way you came?
Rall takes the dagger and will carry the kid. He's not going to be much good in a fight at this point.
