Bowen unstraps his shield and puts away his axe before drawing his bow and sets an arrow, "I'll take lead. Give me a short distance and follow behind as quietly as we can. Lets see if we can get this done quietly and quickly."
Chloe nods with grim determination.
Talk about rolling crits outside of combat...
Holy cow! Now you'll probably roll a 1 when it's time to shoot something with your bow.
Chloe takes the javelin they removed from the choker and carries it with her so she can 'return' the weapon to the kobolds who made it.

The Chronicler |

Bowen moves quietly through the room in which they battled the mounted kobolds towards the large tunnel in the north-eastern corner of the room.
Entering the dark tunnel, Bowen can see that there is a light somewhere up ahead.
The tunnel goes for about twenty feet before it opens up into a larger worked chamber filled with large boulders. Bowen, moving behind one of these boulders can see a trio of kobolds on the other side of the room. Two of them are digging with pick axes, the metal ringing on the stone, while the third examines ore by the dim light of a lantern. He does not seem to be happy with what he is looking at. The third kobold has short skinny legs and a stunty face but also a massive, muscled torso.

Rall Kirnast |

Rall takes the rear.
Stealth: 1d20+7=15
Things are getting really busy now. Anyone able to run Rall for me?

Arla Kalandras |

Rall Kirnast |

Chloe "Clover" Verjust |

Chloe quickly ensorcels one of the kobold javelins and hurls it at another of the miners.
Swift action to apply Arcane Strike.
Ranged attack with javelin... 1d20+2 = 15 to hit
Damage... 1d4+2+1 = 7 hp
She then draws her scimitar and prepares to charge.
Initiative... 1d20+2 = 15

Arla Kalandras |

As the surprise attack is sprung on the kobolds, Arla and Ash dash forward with their companions, hoping to drop the creatures as quickly as possible.
Arla's attack: 1d20+2 = 4, Damage: 1d8+1 = 2
Ash's attack: 1d20+3 = 12, Damage: 1d6+3 = 8

The Chronicler |

Chloe "Clover" Verjust |

Do you have a map yet? Is it possible for Chloe to use her initiative to run past Rall and the remaining kobolds to head off the pending arrival of more kobolds from the tunnel? Her strategy would involve hitting them with a color spray once the newcomers arrive...leaving the other kobolds for Bowen, Rall, Arla, and Ash to sort out this round. Is that feasible without provoking a bunch of AoO's?

Rall Kirnast |

Arla Kalandras |

Sorry, for some reason I thought my turn was done for this round.
Arla glances back over her shoulder at the noises approaching from the hallway. Calling Ash, she darts over to the last remaining kobold in an attempt to fell it before its friends arrive.
Arla's attack: 1d20+2 = 5, Damage: 1d8+1 = 3
Ash's attack: 1d20+3 = 16, Damage: 1d6+3 = 8

The Chronicler |

Ash grabs the kobold with his teeth with a savage bite. The kobold yells but still has the presence of mind to blow out the lamp light, plunging the room into pitch blackness.
Chloe, though she can no longer see the oncoming kobolds, still unleashes the spell when she thinks the kobolds are close enough.
The flash of color illuminates the hall long enough for Chloe to see that she has hit four of the kobolds.
Will Save: (1d20-1=10, 1d20-1=8, 1d20-1=18, 1d20-1=18)
The two unaffected Kobolds rush at Chloe, unhampered by the lack of light.
Kobolds Attack Chloe: (1d20+1=4, 1d20+1=18)
Damage: (1d6-1=3)

Rall Kirnast |

Bowen's arrow finds it target, though it seems to be a superficial hit. Rall cuts down the other kobold miner.
Arla and Ash? In the room remains a single kobold, injured by an arrow. There is the sound of movement from the hall and Chloe is moving to cover that.
Rall attacks the injured kobold that remains in the room. 1d20+3=10, 1d8+2=3

The Chronicler |

Bowen can move to attack the kobold with a single move action.
The light flairs out, surprising the kobolds, allowing Rall to move over to where the barrel chested kobold stands near the table. Rall's sword however misses the kobold who ducks quicker then one would expect in such an ungainly looking creature.
The light also allows Chloe to just make out the kobolds in the tunnel, including the two on the ground, unconscious.

Chloe "Clover" Verjust |

With the renewed light, Chloe quickly swings to hold back the two unaffected kobolds.
Melee attack with scimitar with Arcane Strike... 1d20+2 = 14 to hit
Damage... 1d6+2+1 = 7 hp

Arla Kalandras |

Arla grimaces as her aim turns out to be far wide of the mark. Fortunately, Ash's strike turns out to be far more accurate, although not enough to down the kobold. As the light flares back up again, the pair strike out at the kobold again.
Arla's attack: 1d20+2 = 20, Damage: 1d8+1 = 9
Ash's attack: 1d20+3 = 11, Damage: 1d6+3 = 6

The Chronicler |

Arla attacks the kobold near the table, cutting him, but not fatally so.
Chloe cuts down one of the kobolds threatening her but she soon finds herself facing three of them as the rest all rush forward, stabbing at her.
Kobolds attack Chloe: (1d20+1=14, 1d20+1=6, 1d20+1=5)
The other kobold, the strange barrel chested kobold, steps back, away from his attackers and drawing forth a whip, flicks it towards Arla.
Whip attack: (1d20+4=17)
It wraps around her legs and he pulls it and trips her.
I believe CMD is Touch AC + CMB meaning Arla has a CMD of 14. All will be clearer in a couple of weeks. :)

Apologies for the rules-lawyering, but I'm curious...
Rule Clarification for Color Spray?According to the description for color spray, it indicates... "2 HD or less...The creature is unconscious, blinded, and stunned for 2d4 rounds, then blinded and stunned for 1d4 rounds, and then stunned for 1 round. (Only living creatures are knocked unconscious.)"
So, shouldn't they be down for longer than one round? They should be unconscious for at least 2 rounds...then stunned for at least 2 more rounds, right? Or were they somehow playing possum? Or maybe the darkness impeded the spell somehow? Or are these all new kobolds who just rushed up from the tunnel after the initial group?
It's not a big deal. I just want to know how I should have Chloe interpret this development.

Chloe "Clover" Verjust |

I'm sorry I was not more clear - there were a total of 6 kobolds in the hall. Four of them were caught in the color spray, two of which made their saves. The other two were out of range, moved closer and this round moved in to attack.
Ah! Got it. Makes perfect sense. Even if I'm now quite worried for Chloe's safety. ;-)
"Uhh...guys! A little help?" Chloe asks.
On her next action, I'll have Chloe go to total defense. Should increase her AC to 20, I believe. But no more attacks from her until the others can arrive to help...

Bowen Quaid |

Attack (battleaxe)
1d20+5-2=21
Damage
1d8+3=8
Attack (shortsword)
1d20+5-2=22
Confirm Critical
1d20+5-2=14
Damage
1d6+3=8
Bowen moves to meet the kobold with the whip and swings both his axe and shortsword at the creature trying to cut him down quickly.
Add two to attacks if I'm flanking with someone. Don't know where Rall is.

The Chronicler |

Bowen moves in attack the Kobold.
A flick of the whip though and the kobold trips up Bowen before the large ranger can get close enough to attack.
Trip attack (AoO): (1d20+4=20)
The kobold barks out some sort of orders to the kobolds attacking Chloe, indicating clear authority.

Does he get an attack of oppurtunity?
...The whip is treated as a melee weapon with 15-foot reach, though you don’t threaten the area into which you can make an attack...
Sounds like he only does in the normal 5 foot range.
