Besides the Forgotten Realms / Eberron-Exactly Where is 4e Taking place?

4th Edition

Since Greyhawk got the boot and will recieve no support from Wotc except the plundering of Greyhawk names and place for future products;

(Against the Giants Miniature set.)
Did you know that The Isle of Dread is now a part of the Feywild!
I did recall hearing they are stealing other locations from Greyhawk lore such The Temple of Elemental Evil and so on, so on.

(You'd think these guys could come up with something original, like new gods and new world? I guess when your worried that a succubus and erinyes looking the same, or the power attack feat is too much work,or half-orc are the product of rape! or your doing 45 minute podcast where all you do is talk about BO9S...
there little time for world creation.

So where is 4e taking place exactly? Has anybody heard anything?

It took 18 minutes for this to show up?Why Gary Teter Why?(Dig your new Avatar Btw...

Nowhere specific. They're just giving some basic (and I use that term loosely) "assumptions", and leaving the rest to the DM (who may homebrew, purchase the FR setting in 2008, or the Eberron setting in 2009).

There is no plan (so far) to provide world maps or anything else.

Tobus, have WoTC DEFINITIVELY stated that Greyhawk will not be supported? If WoTC is to abandon the setting, then I agree that plundering various famous adventure sites from the Greyhawk campaign is pretty deplorable.

I know I found the plundering of Greyhawk to be deplorable with the so called generic "core" greyhawk of 3e.

From what I gathered Yes. Living Greyhawk Rpga got the axe and it was replaced by the Living Forgotten Realms Rpga, And I was at the Wotc message boards for Greyhawk a while back and things looked rather bleak for the setting. Except of course, plundering names and Kewl locations...The 4e DMG was rumored to have a Iconic village "Hommlet" however they dropped that and called it something else, I'm sure it will be a mirror copy of Hommlet.

I pray they don't turn their attention to Greyhawk, Planescape, Spelljammer, and so forth and try to cram it into "Points of Light" like poor Faerun.

Hopefully they'll survive intact until 5e.

Scarab Sages

That's why I need an rpg that plays wherever I do - a place called Greydarkjammeloft.

The Exchange

It has no specific setting. Its just a lexical framework for generic references and proper names.

Jammeloft should be a word.

I think, by that time, it will just be Points of Dim.
