Gyorgy Elberion
Kenzo knocks the doors open and his dagger flies from his hand into the throat of a surprised goblin.
There is another goblin within sight, a small furtive looking fellow still gripping his javelin and a buckler. He prepares himself to throw through the once more open door.
Mitnal will be able to charge after the other's before him have acted.
I frown in consternation and send a beam of heavenly fire toward the goblin.
I am heartily sick of you greenskins!"
DM Wicht
The other two goblins do not attack.
They instead run to where their javelins have bounced on the ground and pick them up, only to run back to their respective corners to try and throw the javelins again.
Mitnal has no visible targets to charge. The two goblins are out of his line of sight until he moves into the room. As soon as Mitnal acts, the remaining foe will act and we'll move into the next round.

Mitnal, frustrated that the others are taking up all the fun, enters the room and attacks the nearest goblin. He attempts to clear the doorway if possible so as not to block others.
Use the previous sucky roll.
DM Wicht
Mitnal races into the room, turns sharply to the right and moves towards the lone goblin on the right wall. His enthusiastic swing easily clears the short goblin's head.
"Yurzam!" cries the goblin with some trepidation, eyes wide.
"Hikom, jum il!" cries out a high pitched, gravelly voice from somewhere over the central pool of water.
A monstrous spider, with scarlet fur and a sulphurous smell easily the size of a large dog, is suddenly at Mitnal's back, biting at him.
Spider bites at Mitnal: (1d20+4(+2 flanking))=14)
Mitnal, though surprised, manages to turn just enough to block the venemous attack with his klar.

I run in striking at the hideous spider attacking my new friend mitnal, rarrg!
attacking spider, plus charge, plus flanking (1d20 +6 +2 +2=29)
Kenzo
Kenzo enters the room, following quickly behind Mitnal, and just as he moves to pass the larger man, the air starts to shimmer and he feels a strange sensation course through his body, almost as if he was passing through a large, thick web. Although the monk immediately leaps into a kick at one of the remaining goblins, the distraction proves too much, and he misses high as the goblin ducks.
Remember! Kenzo has mage armor!

I believe that threatens a critical.

Forgot to post the new round :/
Goblins and Demons - Round 3
Kenzo: Initiative - 26 Acted - missed
Eugen: Initiative - 25 Needs to roll for a possible critical.
Jessa: Initiative - 19
Gyorgy: Initiative - 18 Casts mage armor
Goblins: Initiative - 18
Mitnal: Initiative - 17
Erylium: Initiative - 7
Jessa's readied action in rounds 1 and 2 moves her up in initiative. She can act before the goblins.
Jeslara "Jessa" Eventide
Feeling a confidence she probably shouldn't, Jessa quickly follows after Eugen, encouraging Gyorgy to hurry along as well. As she gets slowed down just inside the door, she surveys the remaining opponents and realizes it's probably best if she simply aids those trying to fight their way in.
Standing behind Eugen, she places a hand on his back, whispering a few words of power to provide insight and clarity to his skillful attacks.
"Cut down everything you can so we can focus on the quasit," she urges him over the fray.
Jessa moves up behind Eugen, but stays behind him and out of reach of any goblins...or the spider. She then uses her diviner's fortune supernatural ability to impart a +2 bonus on his next attack, save, skill roll, etc. It's a one-time use, and it has to apply to his next roll. If he doesn't use the bonus within the next 3 rounds, it will dissipate.
DM Wicht
for critical (1d20=6)
With the +10 in bonuses, that's a 16 total, good enough to get the critical.
critical damage: (1d8+3=6) Total damage = 16With a single well placed stroke, Eugen slices the spider in half. It melts into a foul smelling goo that immediattely begins to evaporate.
DM Wicht
Jessa moves behind Eugen and imparts a bit of arcane insight just after the spider is slain.
Meanwhile Kenzo and Mitnal each are confronting a single goblin, who in fright drops his javelin to pull out his dog slicer. It sounded to me like Kenzo was following after Mitnal.
On the other side of the room, the other goblin, finding himself without an opponent, gleefully chucks his javelin towards Eugen's back.
Ranged Attack at Eugen: (1d20+3=6)
The javelin sails harmlessly through the air, deeper into the room and safely away from any actual target.

The quasit appears in mid-air, well above the central pool, shrieking insanely. She gestures towards Eugen, there is a loud ringing noise and the very air seems to ripple as some sort of power streaks towards his blade.
The cold-iron blade vibrates in Eugen's hand as the spell hits it.
Eugen can make a Will save to negate the effects. DC 15.

Eugen can make a Will save to negate the effects. DC 15.
FYI...I believe Jessa's diviner's fortune bonus will probably wind up applying to Eugen's save rather than any forthcoming attack. So he should have a +2 bonus on his Will save. I think...

Seeing the quasit for the first time, Jessa points and shouts to everyone, "There she is!"
Then, she immediately begins casting a spell to aid her in targeting the quasit as she fumbles to retrieve the tanglefoot bag tied at her waist.
"Vraieja-grevas!"
Jessa will spend an action casting true strike, hoping to target the quasit next round with the tanglefoot bag.

Having missed with his hand strike, Kenzo shifts his weight to lash out at his fleeing target with a roundhouse kick.
Attack 1d20=16+2=18, Damage 1d6=1+1=2
Sure, roll a miss w/ 6 points wasted damage, then roll a hit and connect with 1 damage. I think Kenzo should infuse his dice with some fresh chi.

so i guess i should throw away those nice rolls huh? does anybody have any opinion about whether it would be better for me to keep the cold iron sword with all of its drawbacks, or better to switch to one of the fallen goblins' weapons?
You didn't bring a spare sword, huh? :)
There are still two goblins you could attack and I would let you keep your attack roll.
Jeslara "Jessa" Eventide

In terms of hurting the quasit, it's still going to be your best weapon...because she won't have damage resistance against it. Even with the -1 penalty to hit, you should have a decent enough attack bonus to ride that out. And, even with 1d3 damage, you still get to add your Str modifier. You're pretty much down to a cold iron dagger with your ruined sword, which is similar to what Kenzo has to fight her.
Still, it's a real shame we invested so much in that sword only to have it ruined before even getting to use it against her... :-/
DM Wicht
Eugen charges and hits the goblin that has been giving Mitnal some trouble with the shard of his sword. The little runty monster squeals and then hisses in anger.
The other goblin runs past Kenzo, getting whacked in the head as he darts by. Gyorgy then strikes the fast moving monster with his heavenly strike. The goblin yips, stumbles and then makes it to his javelin which he picks up and holds above his head in triumph.
"Kill them you stupid little runts!" shrieks the still visible quasit.
Mitnal
DM Wicht
Mitnal finishes off the already injured goblin leaving only one goblin left, the goblin shouting in triumph holding aloft his javelin.
The quasit shrieks and casts another spell from her vantage point above the watery pool. Each person in the room feels a sudden surge of panic as the arcane energies summon feelings of dread and fear.
All combatants in the room must make a will save (DC 14) or be affected by the fear spell.

Jeslara "Jessa" Eventide
Jessa swallows hard and does her best to fight back against the compulsion.
Will save... 1d20+5 = 14
"Stand firm, everyone!" she encourages.
Then, the young Pathfinder runs through the melee, being careful to keep Eugen, Kenzo, or Mitnal between her and any remaining opponents. Once she gets close enough to the quasit, she boldly defies the evil creature.
"Take this, you evil wretch!" And she hurls the tanglefoot bag straight at the tiny creature's face.
Touch attack with tanglefoot bag, empowered by true strike... 1d20+3+20 = 40 to hit
If it hits, the quasit should take an immediate -2 penalty to attacks and a -4 penalty to her Dex. She'll also face a DC 15 Reflex save (using her reduced Dex?) or have her wings entangled enough that she can't fly. The goo remains sticky for 2d4 rounds. After that, it becomes brittle.
DM Wicht
heh :)
Eugen screams in fear and turns to flee the room, dropping the shard of his sword.
On the positive side, Jessa's arcanely inspired throw is dead on and catches the quasit in mid scream, the gooey substance temporarily quieting her. She falls like a stone into the water in the center of the room.

I whirl about in shock as my allies quit the scene, but as my mind settles the quasit drops and there is only one target left in the room.
I turn to face the goblin; "Will you put that damned stick down!"
heavenly fire (1d20 4=19, 1d6 1=7)
yes, you will
DM Wicht
Kenzo's throw, coming just before the bag of sticky goo hits the demoness, flies just past the back of the quasit. The dagger clatters to the floor on the other side of the room.
Gyorgy's blast, however, catches the triumphant goblin in the chest, throwing him backwards. He falls on his back right into the pool of water.
The quasit struggles for a moment in the water and then goes still, dissapears, and casts a spell, all in that order.
Though she is invisible, her place in the water is still fairly obvious. It is like she is lying still, waiting for something.
Eugen, running out of the room and into the dark halls beyond, is quickly overtaken by Mitnal. But as soon as they turn a corner, they are in the dark and terrified.

Jessa groans as she sees their only remaining cold iron weapon sliding away across the stone floor. But her eyes stay fixed on where the quasit fell into the water, as she hurries forward.
Gyorgy's blast, however, catches the triumphant goblin in the chest, throwing him backwards. He falls on his back right into the pool of water.
Jessa senses the rush of heavenly fire streaking past her to cut down the only remaining goblin.
'Good for you, Gyorgy!' she thinks, 'We can do this!'
The quasit struggles for a moment in the water and then goes still, dissapears, and casts a spell, all in that order. Though she is invisible, her place in the water is still fairly obvious. It is like she is lying still, waiting for something.
"Kenzo!" Jessa's spell brings her whispered voice immediately to the monk's ears, "Get that dagger back! And hurry to the pool! She's fallen in...and held tight by the tanglefoot bag! We have to strike now while she's down! Hurry!"
Jessa herself stops by the poolside to maintain sight of the quasit's position. Then she casts another spell to protect her against any further magic the foul demoness might conjure.
Casting protection from evil on Jessa...something I should have done long ago, now that I think about it.
Also, a rules question for you:
I can't find any mention of shocking grasp functioning any differently (positively or negatively) underwater. So, if Jessa were to use the wand of shocking grasp to try and zap the quasit while in the pool, what would happen? Normal effect? More damage to the quasit due to the water? Potential damage to Jessa because of the water? I'm curious...and I'm wondering if Jessa would know the answers as part of her Spellcraft or Knowledge (arcana) skills as well.
Also, what about a ray of frost? Can Jessa fire it into the pool and still target the quasit? Any unusual effect because of the water?
Kenzo
A little surprised that he missed with what felt like a good throw, Kenzo is moved to action by Jessa's words. He quickly collects the dagger and moves to the side of the pool. Pausing for only the briefest of moments at the thought of putting his hands in the water that gave birth to the monstrosities they fought earlier, he reaches for where the demon should be with one hand, preparing to strike with the dagger in the other.
