Death Note Anyone?

Dark Archive

This manga is about Light Yagami (or Yagami Light, in the Japanese form) who through a twist of fate was able to get his hands on a Death Note, a notebook with the power to kill anyone whose name is written there.

So Light Yagami starts cleaning up the world by using the Death Note and killing all the criminals in the world... until L, the foremost detective in the world, declares that he will capture the mysterious vigilante-killer, Kira (Light Yagami).

Very exciting stuff.

There is also an anime series and a live action tv series.

I'm loving it. Death Note (the anime and manga, at least) is a real gem. I haven't seen the live-action.

It's intelligent, thought provoking, and full of moral ambiguity--just what I like. Lots of ideas for a campaign.

Death Note is very awesome. I've seen the anime through (just past) the err...Logical stopping point. Anyone whos seen the series knows what I am talking about. I still want to see the rest, just haven't gotten around to it.

I especially like the rivalry between Yagami Light and L.

The concept of shinigami or death gods is not new. Bleach, another manga and anime series, also features shinigami.

If you are intrigued by the moral issues posed by Death Note, I'm sure you'll also be intrigued by the concept of "equivalent exchange," as discussed in Full Metal Alchemist.

Death Note is a good currentish series but yeah, Full Metal Alchemist I would think does it(moral ambigiouty) about 10 times better.(Not talking about all of the preety obvious bits or the movie or games , but the bits with nena and the hollow suits, and the mother I think are reaelly top notch delimas and touching in a way that Death note's seem to lack due to egoism and such)

and yeah, that logical stopping point hit me like a train, I don't know who thought that was a good idea, but Its one series im never gonna finish or at least only in my head.

Either way I got the wallet , and i think that its worth a watch very kewl

I love this series! I only read the manga, though, and it got boring when Light lost his memory. I named a paladin of mine Light Yanagami after reading it :) He was a shadowbane inquisitor, which have a lot more freedom in fighting evil than normal paladins.

Death Note is damn good. I love the fact that it has a definite beginning and a definite ending- a rarity nowadays. I love the way Japanese mysteries unravel and reveal themselves, whether it's anime or live action.
