Male Human Ranger 1

Location: K14 Corran and Ehlissa sit on a bail of hay in the back row, leaving the closer seats for the children, as they watch the festivities.

Turning around to watch the butterflies, Corran notices several things going on in the crowd, and overhears a bit of gossip.

Perception 19.

Gather Info 16

As the goblins appear, Corran jumps to his feet. "Ware! Goblins! To arms!"

Corran rushes towards the wagon, intent on not loosing the goblin in the crowd. Corran knows a fair bit about goblins, afterall, he expects to spend most of his adult life fighting either goblins or bandits. Knowledge: Goblins 26!

Initiative 9

Female Human (Chelaxian) Knight 1/Fighter 1/Paladin 1 (2)

Ehlissa doesn't make an effort to get any gossip from folks but she does notice some distinctive characters in the crowd as she looks round. Perception (1d20+1=19)

When the poor dog appears, she nearly jumps out of her seat with concern and then when she sees the goblin, her look of shock turns to a grimace of disgust and anger (shocking on her normally smiling face). She doesn't have time to think back to Gramps stories, and only concentrates on making sure the townspeople are protected Know (nature) (1d20+5=7)

As Corran warns the crowd, Ehlissa draws her sword and starts to rally the people "Quickly! Protect the children!" she cries aloud with a heretofore unseen note of command in her voice. Dip check? "I'm with you, Corran!" She says tersely, ready for battle.

Watching with amazement at the gathering, she stays quiet, nibbling on a meat-stick and trying to stay out of the way. Realizing this is an event of religious important, Naelah follows the customs of her clan, taking a small tub from a pouch, smearing some of the red paste in several lines on her face - down the center of her forehead, and across each cheek, angled away from her nose towards her jawline.

She was pleased by what she had the fortune of witnessing, even noticing the hungry dog - giving it a morsel of her food. When the goblin appeared, she was jolted from her reverie. "Stormraven!" She hissed at her companion, pointing at the creature.

"Kyrdol!"* She calls, in her surprise forgetting that most people in the crowd wouldn't understand her. Hefting her quarterstaff, she whistles to Veren, directing him to attack the nearest goblin.

I linked this HERE Because I didn't believe it myself!

Slidell is in his element. Feeding his patient new friend Naelah a constant stream of info about the things he knows about, and absorbing all he can about what he doesnt know. He is a little more perceptive than usual, noting the possible suspect dressed in the blue & grey of the town gaurd, but by the time he tries to get Vesh's attention, he has lost sight of him.
His clumsy attempts to actively gather new info do not reveal anything that he had not discovered his previous 3 days in town.

Slidell most enjoys the performer's rendition of current events. His previous 3 days of nosing out the current social/political scene allowing him to catch most of the jokes and innuendoes. It also reminds him of some questions about the "Late Unpleasantness" that have been nagging him for the past couple of days. He resolves to visit both the guild offices and town hall tomorrow, after visiting his friend the sage tonight.

He is a hit with the children as his supply of rock candy seems to be unlimited. When the loud bang goes off, he gives a large jump. This brings what sounds suspiciously like a chuckle from the Raven on his shoulder.

When the goblin appears from under the wagon, Slidell appears to freeze. Which brings a look of concern from his soft-spoken companion. In truth, Slidell is merely concentrating as his sifts through his encyclopedic brain for what he has heard about goblins. He starts to smile as he realizes he knows a lot. "Goblins,..."

Naelah's emphatic hiss of "Stormraven" snaps him out of his reverie.
"Goblins, oh, wait, that's bad, very bad!"
"Veran! Roof!" He shouts as he unslings his staff from his shoulder.

The raven immediately launches, landing on the roof of the tent next to Naelah, Looking for all the world as if he is searching the square.

Staff now in his left hand, he unconciously flexes his right hand as he tries to look everywhere at once and figure out what is actually going on. He hears a woman with a commanding voice shout "Protect the children", and he snaps his gaze towards the stage.

@JSL-

Spoiler:

This is where the familiar comes in handy, making up for his master's weaknesses!
On his (my) action, the raven does a spot check with his +5. If he sees something I do not, he warns me. (Saving his ability to speak as a 'surprize' for when that happens.)

Slidell is actively looking for both threats, and people being threatened, (Children, etc.)

I cannot write a detailed post now (kids are up), but I don't want to lose my rolls, so consider this a placemarker for another hour or two, please.

Vesh's perception check=12
Vesh's knowledge (nature) check=22, but maxes at 10.

Without having read everyone's post real closely, I'll assume Vesh is at the table, near both Naelah and Slidell at K-5.

Vesh's initiative roll=24!

I'll write more (ironically) when I get to work. Or, should I say "work?"

Male Human Wizard 2/Sor 1

Grrr, missed my edit time limit again!

@JSL-

Clarification, is this "round 1" or "Surprise round" IE- how many actions can we take this round?

IF Slidell has enough time, he would cast mage armor on himself before an obvious battle, but if he sees someone in dire peril, (especially a child) he would forego his own protection to try and help them.

Initiative:
Vesh K5
Malcolm J7
Naelah J4
Slidell J5
Goblins M7, O8, M9, P6, R6, R8
Corran K14
Ehlissa L15

Vesh:
You see a pair of goblins streaking towards the crowded center of the square (M7 and M9)

Malcolm: As you scan under the wagon, you see a number of goblins approaching the square from High Street at a dead run. They are brandishing foul looking knives, grinning evilly, and singing a horrific goblin chant. You can see all of the goblins.

Naelah and Slidell: You can't see any goblins from where you are, but you can hear them to the SE. Seeing you momentary hesitation, Veran squawks violently and launches into a high orbit above several tents on High Street.

Corran and Ehlissa: You see a pair of goblins running towards you and the rest of the crowd. As fleeing people jostle you on all sides, it is all you can do to loose your weapons and prepare to fight. Thus your bad init.

If you speak goblin:

Spoiler:

Goblins chew and goblins bite
Goblins run and goblins fight
Stab the dog and cut the horse
Goblins eat and take by force!

Go ahead and post your first round actions and we'll sort it out in the right order later.

I'm treating it as a full round. Though you are not threatened in your current position, so you can likely armor up.

I quickly move over to the goblin hiding under the cart, tumbling at te last second to avoid an attack from the goblin.

Move to nearest goblin (one of the two running towards me) the one in M9? Declare fighting challenge against that goblin as a free action (whichever goblin it may be) and attack with longsword (2 handed)

Ehlissa makes sure that innocents are out of danger before tackling the creatures. She confronts the nearest one and issues a challenge in its own tongue, anyone else speak Goblin?

Spoiler:
"Stand and fight, coward!"
and gripping her trusty blade, takes a swing at the wretched cur! Attacking the goblin (1d20+4=16) and if that's a hit, Damage to Goblin (1d8+3+1=6)

Yeah, roll dice and everything right now. What I'm thinking will happen is that everyone will declare their action w/ as much info as possible (like cleaves, tumbles, etc.) and then I'll wade through it in order of initiative. If something incongruous comes up, then, depending on circumstances, the person can take a different action or I'll adjust their action given their stated intent. It is not as tidy as the table-top order of battle, but I think it reflects the chaos of the situation. And it makes it so that if you want to coordinate actions, you need to plan a little in advance or holler out something like "setting a flank for X" or "save the guy on the dog for me". We'll see how it works out and refine as necessary. My only goal is one combat round/24 hours and if at all possible one post per person per round.

Male Human Wizard 2/Sor 1

Slidell takes a few steps to the side, trying to see exactly what Veran is showing him. He stops suddenly upon hearing the voices and the eerie chant.

Upon hearing the chanting, and seeing a couple of small, green creatures darting towards the crowd, Slidell's face loses it's usual daydreaming look and focuses, becoming almost frighteningly serious. With rapid, precise movements he sketches a mystic pattern in the air with a finger that now trails light behind it. He finishes with his hand held straight up, palm out in front of him and clearly says "TEIROS EISYS"
The light from his hand seems to spread to his body, then fades.
Staff in hand, he turns his gaze towards High Street, listening.

For those who speak Elvish, (and if you can't guess what he's doing)

Spoiler:

teiros eisys = "Mystic Armor"

@JSL- In game terms,
Slidell takes a 5' step to the side, ending up in J6, where he (presumably) sees the 2 goblins heading toward the square.
He then casts mage armor, and looks for the nearest threat/person to help.
If possible, he also tries to tell if there is anything 'unusual' about the chanting. Is it spellcasting? or just singing? etc. Spellcraft (+7)= 21

Male Human (Varisian) Spellthief 4 (XP = 6405) as of 7/28, Wrathspawn and Shrine (10,000xp = 5th level)

Vesh enjoys the festivities and the company of his new companions, blah, blah, blah. And now for something completely different!...

At the sound of the screams, Vesh sees the two goblins sneaking into the square. All in one fluid motion, Vesh pulls his dagger, moves down the table, and launches the blade at the nearest of the wretched creatures.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Vesh takes a 5-foot step (west) to K-6, draws his dagger (move action), and throws it at the goblin at M-7.

To hit goblin (M-7) = 13

Damage (if hit) to goblin (M-7)= 4

Is this a sneak attack? If so, the additional damage is 4. (If not, good try, me.)
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Seeing a man with a rapier (Malcolm) moving in to close, Vesh shouts, "Cut off the other one!" The one at M-9.

Vesh wrote:

Here is opposed Stealth vs. Perception 15 > 10; so the goblin does not notice your attack until too late. Sneak attack applies.

I'll sort out the rest of the results later this afternoon - I have parent teacher conference to go to and stuff...

Male Human (Varisian) Spellthief 4 (XP = 6405) as of 7/28, Wrathspawn and Shrine (10,000xp = 5th level)

If it helps, I've got a color map of everyone's starting positions before our stated actions, HERE.

I had to take some liberties with where, exactly, the animal companions are. (In yellow; R = Raven, W = Wolf, of course.) Sorry if they're out of position.

If Vesh and then Slidell move over one square to K-6 and J-6, respectively, in the stated initiative order, the wolf might have a clear line to get to charge the goblin in M-9 if he 5-foot steps into I-5 first, as Naelah's action will happen between Vesh's and Slidell's. Again, though, sorry if I put Veren out of position.

Male Human Ranger 1

Corran unslings his shield and readies it as he advances towards the nearest goblin still standing. (M9?) If I can't reach one with a move action, I'll ready my sword to strike the first one that enters my threatened squares

"To arms! Die Goblin scum!"

I think I missed, only got a 10. If not, the damage is 11

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think that FRIENDLY figures may move through each others squares without trouble. (Tho you cannot stop in a friendlies square, you must end up occupying your own). It is only ENEMY figures that cannot enter/pass through your square.
[ooc]
@JSL, @Arctaris, shed some light on this for me?

Male Human - dash of elf Miniature painter/ Heroic

You're right, allied figures can move through one another's squares (except when charging). So if the wolf is going to charge, then you gotta get outta his way, but quick, boy! ;)

Vesh:
You step sideways and in a single motion draw and throw a dagger at the nearest goblin as it rushes past. Your aim is true and the creature collapses in a fit of thrashing and gurgling, your blade lodged firmly in its side. You are now in K6 and the goblin in M7 is down and bleeding.

Malcolm:
Sliding your rapier from your sheath, you charge, spinning and leaping between the two nearest goblins. As the goblin to your right falls to Vesh's dagger, you whip around and impale the creature on your left. It slides from the end of your blade in a heap; not yet dead, but mortally wounded. I've placed you in M8, your kill was in M9

Slidell:
Since it is unlikely that it will interfere with Naelah's plans, I've updated your position and moved Veran to the roof of the nearby building.

next up is Naelah, then the goblins, then C and E.

I just wrote a cool post, and the boards ate it. So here's a short one.

Naelah summons the power of the wind, and her left hand bursts into flame. To get a better view of the goblins, she moves past the tables and into the view of the small fey.

Casts Produce Flame. Moves to H7. Veren moves to I7.

Oooo, I hate that too, sorry.

Here is suggestion that helps me. (You all see how much I write! I don't wanna haveta do it over!!!)

BEFORE you hit "post", highlight everything you have typed, and right-click "copy". (YES, I know that I am a smart-@$$. Sorry, but this simple solution seems to escape so many of us!)

I have actually lost several posts, but fortunately had "copy"ied most of them before I hit send, so was able to just paste it back in and send again. (Fortunately, I had read about how easy it is to lose posts here,)
Also, it could be just me, but it SEEMS like I lose less posts if I "preview" often while typing. SEEMS like, no promises. ;P

Goblins:
As their comrades fall to Vesh and Malcolm, the goblins hesitate briefly assessing the new threat, then streak forward gibbering in their strange, malicious language.

In goblin:

Spoiler:

Goblins race and goblins jump
Goblins slash and goblins bump
Burn the skin and mash the head
Goblins here and you be dead!

Die longshanks - die!

A goblin spins and rushes towards Malcolm, clumsily attempting to move past him and swinging weakly with a jagged piece of broken steel.

Gobin from O8 > N9 > M9 > L9; Tumble +6 (DC 15) to avoid AoO RESULT =11 (fail); Attack +3 vs. Malcolm (AC 16) RESULT = 15 (misses anyway); Malcolm, you can take an AoO. If you drop this guy, the other will still hit, but he will do less damage.

A second goblin rushes to the other side of Malcolm, but inexplicably drops his weapon and retrieves Vesh's dagger from the helpless bleeding body of Vesh's victim. He shrieks and laughs at his good fortune.

Goblin from P6 > O6 > N6 > M7

Vesh, you spy a goblin charge towards your position, leaping over the wagon yoke and darting under the table in front of you. He has cover under the table and you will have to bend down to poke him.

Double move from R6 to L6 in a straight line.

The last goblin gives a guttural yell and charges towards Malcolm, neatly sidestepping at the last minute before swinging with all his might, connecting with the swashbuckler's exposed midsection, opening a brutal gash.

Charge from R8 > N7; Attack +7 (w/ charge into flank) vs. Malcolm (AC 16) RESULT = 20 (hit) damage = 4.

Ehlissa:
Hefting your sword comfortably in both hands you survey the field of battle. The civilians are fleeing to the north, mainly behind you. Dead ahead, you see the goblins swarming over the sailor chap whose stories you have enjoyed listening to at the Rusty Dragon. Funny seeing him here, you think. As you watch, he takes a vicious hit from a goblin armed with a sharpened piece of scrap metal on a stick. Bellowing your challenge, you charge the nearest goblin (actually slightly behind the sailor) and hew it down with a two-handed blow.

Moving you straight across to L10; you hit the goblin at L9. Depending on the results of Malcolm's AoO, he is either down and bleeding or dead.

Corran
Taking advantage of the gap Ehlissa opened in the enemy's formation, you move behind the wounded chap and swing at a goblin. However, the creature ducks to retrieve some items from a fallen goblin and in so doing avoids certain death at the edge of your sword.

Moved you over and down to L8.

Vesh is up. Also if you could all give me a Perception (DC 20). One more thing, if your speed is not prominently featured on your profiles, can you add it. I think you are all at 30 feet, except Naelah, who is 35.

MY KINGDOM FOR A LIGHTNING BOLT!

Perception Roll(s):
Slidell: 5-1=4
Veran: 17+5=22

Veran caws loudly, dances on the roof and flaps about to get Slidell's attention.

For Slidell and anyone else who makes the Perception check

Spoiler:

The cause of the bird's annoyance is a trio of goblins slinking along the north wall of the building he is perched on. They are moving under and behind the tables set up in the patio area.

Slidell Stormraven wrote:

It does not appear to be an incantation, only an annoyance.

Botched my Perception check horribly.
Who's turn is it?

Male Human (Varisian) Spellthief 4 (XP = 6405) as of 7/28, Wrathspawn and Shrine (10,000xp = 5th level)

Vesh botched his perception check with a 3. As his move action, can he try to flip the table, and then attack the goblin underneath?

If so, here is a strength check to flip the table = 5

I guess not! Here's attack and damage on the goblin under the table.

To hit = 11 *groan*

Damage (not likely)=6

Sorry for the rushed post. I didn't want to hold folks up.

Raven- Tiny Magical Creature

Veran caws loudly, dances on the roof and flaps about to get Slidell's attention.

Seeing that his 'Master' is clearly preoccupied with what would have been a wonderful 'Lightning Bolt' scenario, Veran sighs. The raven then clears his throat, and shouts in high-pitched, but perfectly clear common,
"Three more here! Three more here!"

Ignoring the surprized glances he recieves, he then shouts over the edge of the tent, " Get lost dog-bait!"

Game terms: Veran takes no moves (It's not his/our turn yet) merely shouts as a free action, and uses the roof as cover from any attacks the goblins might make.

I believe that @JSL said that Vesh is up,...? EDIT: NM! He posted 3 minutes before I did! That means Malcolm is up?

Yes, it is Malcolm's turn. The three newcommers are in N11-13. They have cover amongst the tables.

Vesh:
You are unable to get good leverage on the table and your hasty swing at the goblin is well off the mark. It taunts you in a high-pitched squeal.

In goblin:

Spoiler:

Ha ha, longshanks! Maybe you luck better after Glort cut off you legs! Mmm... Legs!

Malcolm:

This is your AoO from round 1
You plunge your rapier into the goblin as it skitters past, but it is a glancing blow. A young lady runs from the east and, swinging her sword two-handed in a wide arc, cuts the goblin down.

Since the AoO did not drop the goblin, the game state is unaltered. Ehlissa charges over and finishes that goblin with authority.

Now, round 2:
Where is your 5' step to? You are threatened by two goblins and will take AoOs unless you tumble away. Of course, you still have an attack this round, too.

OK, here is Slidell's actions, which should take place after Naelah's, (If that is still possible).

Slidell is caught in the flurry of combat all around him. He watches Vesh's quick reaction, and dagger, down one of the little imps with a single movement. He sees what appears to be a sailor run in to engage one of the first Goblins with a rapier, and sees two armored individuals run in from the new chapel to help the sailor, who seems surprised to find himself injured. From his location, Slidell cannot tell if it is serious.

'Who am I kidding' Slidell thinks to himself, 'Of course it's serious. Of course, to me a paper cut is serious'. He smirks grimly.
'I just wish they'd stop that incessant chattering, it doesn't seem to be any sort of incantation or spellcasting, but it sure is annoying! Catchy tune though,...'

Slidell tries to study the chaos before him, intent on figuring out how to apply his knowledge to deal with the gibbering menace. Despite the feelings of anxiousness and frustration through his empathic link, he does not see the continuously increasing antics of his familiar on the roof across the square. So intent is he, that Slidell is as surprised as the rest at the new, high-pitched voice that joins the din,...

"Three more here, three more here" His familiar cries, exercising his right of free screech, "Get lost dog-bait!"

'Aw well,...' Slidell thinks as he finally spies the three shadows making their way under the tables & chairs, THAT cat's out of the bag at least. Good, Veran was getting to be a pain about having to be so quiet.

"Oh, to Hades with it," Slidell mutters as he notices that Vesh is having trouble with another Goblin under a nearby table. "The little rodents are everywhere!" He plucks a small item from one of his many pockets, and makes another small, precise gesture with it. "Master always said, the best way to deal with a problem, is to remove it yourself!"

He points his forefinger at the nearest Goblin and says simply, "THYRORI" As a thin, pale beam flickers from his pointed finger to strike the goblin in the side.

Elvish translation,

Spoiler:
Thyrori = 'Frostbite'

Game stuff;
Slidell casts Ray of Frost at the goblin in M7, unless Naelah or puppy kill it by his turn, in which case the target is N7.
Ranged Touch Attack; 17+2=19
Damage= 3 WOOT! Max Damage! (Thppt!)

Veran will keep a lookout on the roof, happily throwing insults at the goblins (now that his ability to speak is no longer a secret), unless it looks like he will come under attack, and then he will high-tail it out of there!

Female Human (Chelaxian) Knight 1/Fighter 1/Paladin 1 (2)

Ehlissa turns to see the troop of goblins trying to out-flank the newly formed band of defenders. "Not very honourable at all! I'll show you what for!" she snarls at them. fighting challenge against nearest goblin With a strange elegance, her longsword in both hands, she brings it to bear on her nearest foe, Attacking a goblin (1d20+4=19) Damage (fighting challenge + two-handed) (1d8+4=7), blood spraying over the festive setting.

Male Human Ranger 1

Corran shifts slightly to the south to support the injured swashbuckler (?I'm referring to Malcom) who has been wounded by a goblin slasher. Move 5' to M8, the square Malcom just vacated

Corran punches his shield out at the goblin on his left (N7) and makes a backhand cut with his longsword on the goblin directly in front of him. (M7)

"For Iomedae! Sandpoint!"

Longsword vs M7 hit AC 13 for 10 HP

Shield Bash vs N7 hit AC 5 for 6 HP

I spare a glance and nod my thanks to the newcomer for his assistance before returning my attention to goblin before me.

Naelah:
Chanting a quick prayer in Shoanti, Naelah hurls the blossom of fire in her hand towards the goblin who retrieved Vesh's dagger. Her aim is true, catching the little bugger full in the chest and enveloping him in smokeless orange fire.

Ranged touch attack at +2 RESULT = 16 (hit) for 1d6+1 = 5 damage

Veren:
With a deep growl, the wolf charges the goblin fighting Malcolm. Head low to the ground and fangs bared. The goblin under the table lunges at the passing beast in vain.

Goblin's AoO vs. AC 14 RESULT = 8 (miss)[ooc]

Leaping over the still smoldering goblin in his path, he reaches his target, bites hard and shakes at the goblin's leg. The goblin staggers back, bloodied.

[ooc]Attack at +5 RESULT = 19 (hit) for 1d6+1 = 2 damage; trip = 4 (fail)

Slidell:
Slidell's ray of frost strikes the reeling goblin, sending it to the ground amid a stream of curses. A wisp of steam rises from its fallen body as the magical frost thaws and evaporates.

Both goblins are exactly unconcious (0 hp); I'll get to the other goblins and a map update later today. I'm sorry if I've offended by doing Naelah's actions. But I don't think any can criticize the result.

I know that this is out of turn, that the goblin under the table still has a chance to swipe my ankles (bastard), and that JSL still has to take into account Ehlissa and Corran's actions, but there's a good chance that I won't have time this afternoon to post my third round actions, so (if no one minds) here are my planned actions for round #3 (assuming they still apply).

----------------------------------------
"Die you little..." Vesh grunts through gritted teeth as he jabs his shortsword under the table at the foul little creature.

Attack at +1 = 13; Damage = 2

Seeing Naelah roast the first goblin beyond the table, Vesh stands, stretches out his hand to his fallen dagger, and speaks the word "Hither." Thus casting Mage Hand on his dagger to retrieve it.
----------------------------------------
Again, JSL, modify as necessary to reflect the actions that take place btwn. now and round 3.

Goblins:
The goblin under the table lunges at Vesh with his knife, cackling as he does so. Vesh steps awkwardly to the side a moment too late. The goblin's knife opens a deep gash in his leg.

In Goblin:

Spoiler:
Cut you down longshanks - I will! Shin bone! Shin bone!

Attack at +3 (AC 17) RESULT = 21 (hit) for 1d4-1 = 3 damage

The damage done, the goblin scurries from under the table and runs past Vesh and a distracted Slidell.

L6 >L5>K4>J4>H4>G4; No AoO because he has cover under the table.

A pair of goblins lunge towards Ehlissa, scattering chairs and dishes in their wake.

1: Move N11>N10>M9 Attack at +3 (AC 11, right?) RESULT = 15 (hit) damage 1d4-1 = 2
2: Move N13>M13>L12>K11 Attack at +5 (AC 11) RESULT = 24 (hit) damage 1d4+1d6-1 = 7
roll to confirm crit: RESULT = 13 (confirm) extra damage 1d4 = 3

Please adjust the damage if your AC is not 11 - I saw the comment that you are unarmoured on the discussion thread

The remaining goblin N12 ignores the furious battle and jumps on top of the table to pick through scraps of hastily abandoned food. Finding what looks like a custard pie, it settles down to enjoy an evening repast.

Ehlissa:
Haggard and bloodied, you swing ferociously. Channeling your pain into your blow, you are rewarded by the sickening sound of shattered bones and crushed organs. Your foe crumples at your feet. Goblin at M9 is down

Corran:
You move to Ehlissa's side and chop the other goblin with your sword. The creature falls in a bleeding mass of rent flesh and viscera. w/o the -2 for two-weapon, your sword attack hits. Goblin in K11 is down

Female Human (Chelaxian) Knight 1/Fighter 1/Paladin 1 (2)

Frak! Down to 3HP! Those little gits!

Ehlissa grits her teeth against the pain of her wounds. She thinks back to a time only a few years ago.. "Remember, Lissy, anger costs on the field of battle. Don't let yourself be governed or distracted by your emotions - they can be used against you!", her grandfather demonstrated a move he called "Dragon's Tail Cut" - she thought it was a silly name but she didn't like to say- "But, Gramps," she asked, "What if someone gets you so, so angry that you just want to whallop them?", she swung her fist through the air by way of demonstration.

"Part of growing up, part of making the world a better place is knowing how to look at your feelings and make sure you control them rather than the other way around. Too many people use anger as an excuse." He frowned and seemed to have his mind elsewhere for a second and then shook himself out of his reverie, "Well, here endeth the lesson," he said with a grin, "Now, let's see if we can't snaffle some of Cook's jam tart's, eh?"

Ehlissa turns to Corran, "Thanks" she says hoarsely.

lol

"Your welcome" Corran says somewhat unsteadily as he surveys the results of his swordstroke. First time I killed someone in battle. Its.... messy "Are you okay?"

Obviously, I underestimated the little f#$%@! under the table. Disregarding my last post...

"EEEEEEEEEEYARG!" Vesh winces in pain, squeezing his eyes almost shut against it. His world wheels about, and all becomes slow.

The gash ... red blood ... Stay up! ... the goblin darting from the table ... Stay up! ... the wolf ... a gleaming, steel ... the dagger ... My dagger! MY DAGGER!

Vesh can only hear his heart beating, only feel his heart beating. He reaches out to the dagger, like in a dream. No noise, no smells, no pain. All is the dagger. Hither. His tattoo is ice on his skin. His arm outstretched, he hears himself say, "Hither."

The dagger flies into his outstretch hand. He whirls. Stay up! He throws...

After getting hit, Vesh sees his dagger lying in M-7, casts Mage Hand on it, and throws the dagger at the fleeing goblin (now in G-4). Attack at -2 for range = 16! and Damage = 3.

Can we get an 'update' on HP's? IE-How bad does it LOOK like your hurt?
I know we have Malcolm, Elissa & Vesh wounded, but how BADly they look will affect my action. (After Malcolm & Naelah move)

The reason I ask is because of the very good reaction-post from Vesh. Good job!

Thx

I suppose that it doesn't look good. It was only a 3 hp hit, but that's almost half of Vesh's hit points! I guess it's all relative--this'd be a hangnail at 10th level! BTW, I keep a "current hp" count on my character profile. And, thx.

EDIT--In re-reading my reaction post this morning it sounds like the guy's about to die. He's not, he's just in pain. His thoughts about staying up come from getting hit in his leg. I was imagining that it might be difficult/painful to put weight on it or remain standing.

Yes, it's all relative.
A 3 HP hit is OVER half of mine! So I feel your pain!

And the reaction is fine, and understandable. Like I have any room to cry 'over reacting' with my character's personality. (Wait until you see Sly's reaction after HE takes a hit. Can you say "Oscar Wining performance anyone?") :)
