I HAVE to find this so my wife can feel the same wrath my sister did 20 some odd years ago.Must find...
Yes, I used to play this game as a child. I loved it. In fact, if I had a set now, I would play "Strip Crossbows & Catapults".
wow a goldy moldy oldie; yep, I remember; lol, what does that say about me :)
Heh, I remember this game, with the little Vikings and Barbarians who looked like white and milk chocolate (but er... don't taste like it). I don't think I ever once played it according to the rules. Me and my brother just built things and smashed them.
Oh yeah! We used to put as many rubber bands as we could find on those crossbows. Could launch those disks @ about a thousand feet per second :)

And for this reason, "special" launchers like the dragon were always horribly underpowered when stacked up against the "use your own elastic" standards...
I also never played the game as written. In fact, the thought never crossed my mind that I ever SHOULD. It was really about building a wall, putting little guys on it (and the dragon next to them) and then shelling the whole thing with souped-up crossbows and (dangerously inaccurate when overloaded) catapults.
I freaking loved that game!! i'll have to find the new version so my son can try it out.
Mine's in a spare closet underneath my Raiders of the Lost Ark board game.
Haven't touched it in decades, but now I have the sudden urge to drag it and demolish stuff...

Gods how many of those damn disks did I shoot under the stove or refridgerator!?!? The kitchen was the only floor in my house without carpet. And Damn! the amounts of casualities caused by mom stepping on a few viking while trying to get dinner together.
I will pick this up just to have a new set for the kids and me, and maybe use my old stuff to suppliment.

The walmart near my house doesnt have it.Ill have to hunt one down next weekend.Has anyone seen it at walmart or target?
Shiny!
I can't believe that this game is actually back. I have been trying to track it down on the internet but with no luck. Has anyone found a place that sells it yet?
I too had this game back in the day. I'm sure these days folks would cry "Nerf the crossbow, it's overpowered!"
I saw this at Target over the weekend, but didn't pick it up. I think I'll have to make a trip to do just that (considering the nearest Target for me is an hour drive away, that's saying something).

My wife is a fanatic for Target, so this'll be too easy :)
WalMart also is carrying it...I know this because we ran into a stack of copies (not literally) after going there to buy back to school stuff for our daughter after being essentially chased out of Staples for reasons as yet unknown.
For sure. I had the minotaur, cyclopes, and dragon. The minotaur was the worst. You had to put the carems in its horns and the button was on its ass. The cyclopes had a so so throw and the dragon's was pretty crappy. But those crossbows were damn effective when you suped them up with about five elastics. It sounds like we all played his game pretty much the same way.

All I remember was the crossbow, and it was bad ass! Now they got Orcs vs Humans, must WoW change everything? <sighs>
Oh, I'll still get it for my nephews for Christmas...
My preteen son is very enamored with the marketing for this game. It is available at the local Walmart, but before he plunks down his hard earned money I was wondering if anyone has any experience with this modern version? How durable etc is it, and what ages would you say it is appropriate for?

A full review, too.
I saw this at Target the other week, I nearly had a heart attack.
Who didn't love the game of destroying household objects via flying plastic pieces?

Ultradan
This game invariably became more about hitting the opponent than hitting their fortifications when my brother and I played.
This was one of the best games I ever played. Just a flick fest beyond proportions. Juvenile and trite, and everything nice. Toss the rules out. Its more fun to just blow everything up.
