Oh yeah. "The Tower" has the flashy soloing and all that, but that whole album is really, really good.

by Whitesnake. Could this possibly be the cheesiest video ever made?
I saw the Megadeth/Testament/Exodus version of the tour, as Tom was still after back surgery. The Exodus show was one of the beastliest performances I've seen in years and years; while I probably won't argue on their behalf against Slayer, they were a fantastic replacement. PS: Did Testament play the weird setlist with the entire "Legacy" album when you saw them too?
Oh, and Jeff is the scariest Slayer of them all. Which is saying something.

Testament did a 'best of' thing for us....good lord Chuck has such a strong voice! And being a throat cancer survivor as well. Alex kept drawing my attention...cant stop watching his rock star guitar god like moves but its Eric Peterson that plays his heart out for every minute hes onstage. Bostaph was amazing as well. Chuck got the 'wall of death' to go during 'Formation of Damnation'. Hes added to the script for this tour calling one side mofos and telling them to kill the sumb@*&%es on that side and viceversa. '...wait for it....GO!' Really great fun!
Dave Mustaine had a book signing earlier in the afternoon and I got to chat with him a minute and ask him about working with Paul Dianno on Diannos cover of 'Symphony of Destruction'. Dave HAD heard there was a version but hadnt listened to it yet...so I slunk away. Mustaine snarled out his kickass 'black toothed grin'-type vocals all night. 'Peace Sells...' I think had the biggest participation of the whole night!
and Slayer...fugeddabowdit! Id never seen them live (saw the others on other tours where they headlined). Slayer is amazing. Kerrys solos are just pure chaos. Lombardis drums pack such a wallop I could feel in my chest. Hanneman is clearly insane and Tom shouts for 90 minutes nonstop.
The whole night was superfast paced and I loved it. Apparently Gary Holt from Exodus was in the audience talking to people, but I wouldnt have recognized him if he said anything to me.
Next up is Blue October then Cannibal Corpse then Muse...then I think I am done for this year with concerts.

Ah yes, the 'Wall of death'... This is flat-out nuts. Crowd insanity starts around 2:15. Also, Rob Dukes is a monster. I was a little skeptical when they brought him on board, but having seen them live, all doubts are gone.
Um, and to keep the music thing going:
Burn, Hollywood, Burn
by Exodus
Off their excellent new album. Mosh!

Martini Ranch. Only slightly influenced by DEVO...heh
Check out REACH by the same group and count all the cameos in both of these. This is what Wild Bill Paxton does with his movie salary!
