A second edition dungeons and dragons adventure crawl set in the Forgotten Realms campaign setting in the Year of the Watching Cold 1320 DR. This adventure is set some 35 to 40 years before the Time of Troubles so a wider and more original flavor of the realms may take place. Any current and archival realm’s lore is however under interpretation by the Dungeon Master.
On August 1st, I send each player a PDF file outlining what I expect of the players and characters in terms of game-mechanics, background information and gaming etiquette. Included in the file will be a list of second edition books and other content I will use and except in my game. All other books are banned.
I have an extensive library of gaming materials
This list will be open for character submission on August 1st 2007 and first posting (hopefully) will be posted on August 27th or the 29th.
I have yet to decide which list server I will use. I’m in the process of choosing either Goggle Groups or Zoomgroups for the sake of storing maps and possible character handouts. You must be a member of either of these lists to play in my game. No exceptions. I will not use Yahoo or Hotmail as my server and their grouplists have several unresolved compatibility issues.
There’s the possibility of posting maps on a weblog like Blogger.
I will use the Invisible Castle for my dice server and will have a log or rolls for both players and the DM.
As of yet, I do not want any character sheets until I call for them. Do not send me any attachments, as I will feed them to my pet gelatinous cube with no saving throw. I store the hungry critter on my computer’s hard drive.
However, if you wish to send any character background, goals, history, identity, and any other information to generate ideas, you may do so.
