Do they have more information in say a regular full-sized GameMastery Module, or in Pathfinder? ie. More background and personality write-ups, along the lines of Valeros & Seoni's write-ups in the Blog?

Due to space constraints, this is about the most information we can provide in the GameMastery Modules. We will move to a slightly larger format for the higher level adventures which might give us the room to add background info.

It's a chick fest. And, here I was hoping to see more iconics pictures... darn.

I like the format however, I could see printing those on cardstock.

I think it looks awsome. So far I am very impressed with the effort everyone at Paizo Publishing takes to work with there customers to put out a good product.

I agree, they look great. Can't wait to get my hands on the module Saturday.

Hopefully as soon as Pathfinder #2 we'll be able to go into a bit more detail for the iconics' personality and history and all that.

I like the characters overall. What I don't like is:

A) The 25-point "elite array".
B) Giving the rogue an 8 Int. Less skill points is way bad for a rogue.

I'm not a fan of cookie cutter elite array either (for anything other than cronies). You can always assign/roll new stats though.

I'm actually going to be running D0 Hollow's Last Hope next Wednesday night. With a group of 5 to 6 players, however, the 4 pregens aren't going to stretch far enough. For those who have played or run the adventure, are there any recommendations on what kinds of additional characters would have been useful? An extra Fighter or Cleric, perhaps? Maybe a Ranger or Druid?

Eagerly awaiting my copy of D0 (wasn't able to get a free one, had to buy it recently) and I was looking at the pregens on the Paizo blog.

I was just wondering about the 8 Int. for the rogue? Is this errata? Or was this intended?

I'm all for characters with interesting stats - but I don't think I've ever come across a dumb elf before. Let alone a dumb elven rogue. (It would seem to pinch her skills too much.) Might be interesting but ...

Should the 8 be in Wisdom instead (she's impetuous and hotheaded), or even Charisma (a cold and aloof elf)? Or does the 8 in Intelligence fit Paizo's interpretation of Merisiel?

I don't think it's errata. And I think it can very easily fit Merisiel's personality. First, rogues already get a slew of skill points, so a minor reduction in that due to a lower-than-average Int isn't a big deal. Secondly, as an Elf, she's already getting racial bonuses on Spot, Listen, and Search...all skills that are fairly important to a Rogue, so that kind of makes up for the missing points (particularly at low level).

In addition, I kind of like the idea of an Elven Rogue with an 8 Int. It doesn't mean she's quintessentially "dumb"...it just means she doesn't bother retaining a lot of facts and figures and stuff. She lives by her wits, on the edge, taking life as it comes, depending on her innate talents moreso than accumulated knowledge to deal with things.

Impetuous? Yeah, quite likely. But stupid? No. Not in a real world, common-sense way. Wisdom generally defines that mindset anyway. This just means her book-learning and knowledge about the world isn't as great as someone else. So I submit that's entirely possible and credible for Merisiel.

Just my two-cents,

Yeah, totally possible. It's actually kind of interesting. I've never seen an elf or a rogue with that low of an Intelligence score before (other than Orc thugs). Usually, elves are haughty and intelligent - chock full o' book learnin'. I don't think the 8 will hurt her that much, it's just usually a stat that's capitalized on for rogues. I guess we'll find out more about her history and backstory later - which will probably explain the low Int. and high Wis. scores.

This came up in another thread, but there is some errata with regards to the 8 Int for Merisiel. Her skill totals left out the -1 modifier for her Disable Device and Search skills. For anyone who's interested, here's the breakdown:

Climb (+2 ranks, +1 Str) = +3
*Disable Device (+4 ranks, +0 Int) = +4 (but should have been +3 with -1 Int)
Hide (+4 ranks, +3 Dex) = +7
Jump (+2 ranks, +1 Str) = +3
Listen (+2 ranks, +1 Wis, +2 racial bonus) = +5
Move Silently (+4 ranks, +3 Dex) = +7
Open Lock (+2 ranks, +3 Dex) = +5
*Search (+2 ranks, +0 Int, +2 racial bonus) = +4 (but should have been +3 with -1 Int)
Spot (+2 ranks, +1 Wis, +2 racial bonus) = +5
Tumble (+4 ranks, +3 Dex) = +7

Total = 28 ranks (which is appropriate for an Elven rogue with an 8 Int)
* = These are the two skills where they forgot the -1 modifier for Int and just left it at +0...probably because they went back and forth over whether she would have an 8 Int or an 8 Cha...

Though it's unofficial, I've gone ahead and made those adjustments on my player's copy of the character sheet.
