I've been better at keeping in touch with my best friend, and we've been exchanging e-mails on a regular basis. A few hours ago, he went on his first date--ever. Though there were doubts from both of us on whether his crippling social anxiety would get the better of him, he and the guy he went on the date with had a great time, and have decided to make it a regular thing. Here's to you, Alex and Alec!

It seems to me we could all use a bit of the positive in our lives. I know I could. This is the place to list good things in or going on in your life. Despite the frustrations, there is always something good going on, isn't there?
Good things for me from today:
Spouse loves me, my job has me going to exotic locations to be pampered as I wait my turn to drive fast, fast cars.![](/WebObjects/Frameworks/Ajax.framework/WebServerResources/wait30.gif)

I just received an e-mail from a guy I hadn't seen or talked with for over two years. We'd been sort of friends, but we had some sort of falling out (I can't even remember what it was), and shortly afterward, he left town.
Last night, I found an e-mail message from him in my inbox. Apparently we're both in the same city, and he wants to get together. He's also now in charge of a local open mic night, and I have an open invitation.

We had to cancel our tabletop game last because I had a nasty cold. Well I'm better today so this evening will continue our game. And the last game session ended with us leveling up. Bad thing, I rolled a one. Good thing, she (my Arcane Duelist) is now level 3. New spell, more skills and a feat :-)
Last friday I received my DVD box of the Complete Collection of Wooster and Jeeves. Now that I'm feeling better I'll spend this week, or weekend, watching the rest of the 6 disks.
In fact I received a lot of stuff of DVD last friday, Brutti, sporchi e cattivi (Ugly, Dirty and Bad) was one of them. It will be fun to watch it with my girl friend.

My wife is working full time again, and she more or less likes the job.
My son is back in the United States after being deployed to Afghanistan.
Now if I could just work a little less and find some night to GM again when I could get my regular group back together again, everything would be back to "normal."
And I am truly thankful to God for all of the above. Even working too much, because, well, I'm working, and I know a lot of people that aren't.

As for my good thing (which I mentioned briefly last night in another thread) - watching Ironman 2 last night, the wife had me pause it so I could feel the baby (who, coincidently enough, we've temporarily nicknamed Ironman) moving and kicking. Huzzah!
You know, you can always call him Tony . . . or Toni if you aren't sure of the gender yet . . . ;)

Yeah, we know it's a boy. Saw his "junk" and everything. But we can't call him Tony - my 4 year old nephew said "No. Just call him Ironman."
So, for now, Ironman.

My friend, whom last month I had to talk out of suicide over the phone, is doing much better. Is still in dead-end job but is coherent enough to start working her way out of it. Is very good news.
Also, Halloween on $10:
One bag of candy for trick-or-treaters...$7
One bag of candycorn for personal eating...$2
...$1 for decorating?!
Ended up with two tiny pumpkins and making paper cutouts of dancing skeletons. It worked!
Also, birthday! For me. I have acquired... rent money, I hope. And leftover candycorn.
