Holy crap, can't believe I forgot to post it here-

I got a PROMOTION ON THE SECOND JOB(sorta kinda)!!!!!!

I'll be doing an internet shift once(or maybe twice) a week. I don't get paid more, nor do I get time and a half after midnight, but its something I can do in my underwear at home(other than game)!!!!!

Lantern Lodge

Good things?

Right now, I am particularly pleased with and thankful for my coworkers. Especially Erik, Sean, Crystal and Gary.

I got my HDMI cable for my monitor in the mail this morning. From now on, when I compute, it will be in HD all the time!

Thank you! Thank you! Oh, wait. You're not talking about me are you?

One of us! One of us!

All Gary clones are required to report to the assembly hall. VaultTec policy requires compliance with all directives.

Congrats, Freehold. Not too sure about the underwear thing, but hey, congrats anyway.

That is a LONG, hilarious story. I'll have to tell you some time, or you can check with one or two of the people on the boards who gamed with me at my house.

You should post it some time in FAWTL.

Car fishtailed like crazy today. I managed to avoid the guard rail in front of the cliff and got it into a nice soft ditch on the other side. I was fine and the car was undamaged. That was a good thing. Tow truck was only $90.

The Exchange

Well, arguably that's a "not as bad as it could have been" thing, but congratulations anyway.

Wow! I'm glad that's all it was.

I'm just glad you're okay. You in the hospital is the last thing local china shops need.

I just found out a good friend of mine, who got a raw deal at his place of employment, IMO, and has been unemployed for 14 months, starts a new full-time job on Monday!

Awww yeah! So good to see people returning to work. Hopefully he likes his new job better than his old job. :)

More illustrations for KQ pdfs. It's a good thing; I was getting depressed with all this free time on my hands.

Receiving a loverly Edible Arrangments basket from my sweetie, who is very far away from me right now, and a soft fuzzy teddy bear.

Both were waiting for me when I got out of a meeting at work.

Thanks to my recent insomnia, I have somewhat ceased to be nocturnal. Now, for those of you who think this is a bit counterintuitive, let me explain:

For some reason (the leading theory being that my body hates me), my natural sleep cycle starts at about four in the morning, and ends at about four in the afternoon. Hence, why I work the night shift at my job, and take as many afternoon and night classes as I can at school. That's just the way it works for me.

Only now, with my newfound inability to sleep for more than three or four hours at a time, my sleep cycle has been kick-started forward, so that I now crash out at about eight at night, wake up around ten, fruitlessly try to go back to sleep for a few hours, fall asleep around four, and wake up at the crack of dawn.

Hence, why I'm posting on the messageboards at seven in the morning.

Now, I can actually do stuff that requires me to go places and interface with the local human population, as opposed to sitting in my room weeping, or otherwise venturing out into the cold, dark night to see if I can score a free bag of Fritos from the vending machine. Hooray and huzzah!

Cute trick. Now you can feign normality for as long as it takes.

I went on a date tonight. We talked for like 2 and a half hours, we both had a great time. She wants to go on another date. And she called it a date, so I totally know what we're going for. AND I was up front about my nerdiness and she's still interested. And now I'm telling my internet D&D friends all about it!

Liberty's Edge

Good stuff James! Hope the sequel date is as good as the original.

That's great news, James! Good luck on the next (and subsequent) dates.

I just passed through my thesis defense. Seems like they want to award me a Master's Degree in Natural Resource Sciences for some reason....

Grats! Usually telling a girl you game is about as chancy as telling her you have herpes.

Good news. Girls who balk at gamers are judgemental b%~##es, and the ones who aren't bothered (even if they aren't interested) are cool. Or she's desperate. Either is a winner in my book.

Thanks y'all. It's a really good feeling, to see the light at the end of the tunnel. No, not THAT tunnel!

I have a Job!!! (almost)

After 3/12 months (my last day was December 23rd 2009...) of lounging, and playing with the kids, on Thursday, coincidentally on my 28th Birthday....I start a new job, doing interesting things with servers and networking kit again. Oh flashy lights, how I've missed thee!
