Sorry for the awful spot checks guys. Not my strength. Hopefully I'll roll better in combat than I have so far.

No problem at all. You've more than made up for it with your Sense Motive and Intimidate checks.

It will be interesting to see how my well my knowledge based character does. They say no plan survives contact with the enemy, but I sure hope Telvar does. :)

I've seen knowledge based character do very well in home campaigns. Knowing a monster's weaknesses can be very powerful.

By the way, as I am new to the PbP method of gaming, any suggestions you guys have would be welcome. Thanks.
I'm new to PbP as well. Its tricky, sometimes you have to suggest several different courses of action at once, depending on the information you get later.

I think all of you are doing well. I really like the roleplaying and your ability to interperse relevant skills rolls here and there really makes my job easier. I think your characters will continue to do well.

I’m playing in shamgar’s well developed Crimson Conquest PBP campaign. I wanted to let everyone in this campaign know that I planned to run the Wizard’s module Shattered Gates pretty much as is. I haven’t developed a world outside of the starting setting for the game.

However, shamgar inspired me. I love worldbuilding. So I have a proposal for all of you. I’d like to slowly start another PBP thread that isn’t an adventure but a worldbuilding project that will lead into adventures and a fully-featured campaign.

With the help of whoever wants to join in, I’d like to start a world from the ground up, using the roleplaying and rules that everyone in the group wants to use. Once we wrap up the Shattered Gates completely, I would then start this new campaign and a new set of adventures in this new world.

Before I open the worldbuilding/campaign to anyone else, I want to offer any of you the chance to jump in if the idea interests you. My basic idea is we would all toss out a few ideas of worlds we’d like to play in (swashbuckling ninja dinosaurs, spontaneous caster world, demon haunted ruins at the end of the world etc) as well as rule sets we’d like to try out (Tome of Magic, play a knight etc.).

Through chaotic democracy and DM fiat, we’d then narrow the worlds down to one world idea and a set of core rules. I’d then start setting the big area up, with anyone who wants to create a culture or kingdom working on that particular area. I have a Yahoo group set up I could give everyone access to and post maps there.

Once we get the basics in place we could then make characters (based on the background we made and the rules we agreed on) and I’d make adventures. If you wanted to try out PBP DMing you could even start your own thread using the world with other players.

All of this is starting to sound very ambitious so I’ll stop now and wait to see if there is any interest before proceeding. I’ve done projects like this before and really enjoyed them, but I’m not sure how widespread the desire to do something like this is.

It has been a while since I built a world. I am interested in trying this out.
