When is Issue 139's Supplemental PDF going to be posted for Download? I am thinking about using STAP, but in Forgotten Realms, which I thought I read would have conversions in the pdf.

Thanks.

You are correct, there is supposed to be some supplemental information and campaign conversion articles in a PDF soon. WHEN?!!?!? James!? You there!?! No sleep for you until the PDF hits the website! j/k... just go tell me to piss up a rope.. omg, i'm talking to myself again.....

C'mon editor in Chief get it up/along with the players guide. We needs it!

I'll check tomorrow where those conversions are at... I'm pretty sure the've both been handed in. Having them up by Friday seems like a fine enough goal... so I'll shoot for that.

Liberty's Edge

Thanks James! Friday is very cool.

(I will have already started our games, we're playing tonight, but that should not be a big deal!)

*Many Thanks* for your time and effort on free stuff for us!

Any chance you could give us the city STAP starts out in for (realms)?

We're still waiting for the FR conversion notes. Once they're in, it'll be a few days until we get them edited and layed out and posted. So for now... we can't really give an accurate date... but I'm hoping it'll be up this week.

Any update? I'm running a PbP and would love to use some high quality images to help describe scenes and for combats. All I need are the images. I don't need any conversion notes. :)

BTW, kudos for a great start to the AP. It's the first time in a long I've gotten as excited as I did to DM again.

It's a key /and/ a virtue!

I like chocolate mousse. When I go to restaurants with excellent chocolate mousse, I always order them. I have to wait until the dessert is made before I can eat it though.

Asking the manager about the dessert doesn't necessarily speed the process up. I tell you, though, when I bite into that chocolate mousse...it's worth waiting until after dinner for it.

We're patient! But for the curious, can Eric Boyd give us a hint what he's doing with the Isle of Dread in the Forgotten Realms?

Oh! Yeah...ummm.... err....how about we not throw a hundred posts on the site begging for the Enhancement when James has said it is on its way? :)

I was asking because, as far as I understand it, James is waiting for the conversions before posting everything. I just want the pictures. :)

Yeah, I'm really only interested in the high-res pics as well, so splitting them out from the conversion notes would be convenient for me. However, it would likely double the needed time/resources for formatting, review, upload, etc. so I understand why such is not necessarily an attractive option for the Paizo folks.

Luckily, it's probably going to take me about 2 months per adventure rolling this out, so this should be the only time I won't have a we enhancement readily available (assuming the rest come out within a month of the magazines).

I could wait an other week if it was fully detailed. James, please make sure it has everything in it whats needed, like proper FR related history, organizations, places, gods and everything else that doesnt come to my mind at the moment.

THANKS!

I am so much looking forward to see it and to get my issue 139 in my hand!

Liberty's Edge

Uhm......Now that issue #140 is about to be released...when are we going to see issue #139's supplement (not to mention #140's)?

Sovereign Court

Is the Affiliations article from Dragon #348 going to be available as a PDF? (Please, please, please!)

I just tried scanning it, and after correcting all the typos in the Church of the Whirling Fury courtesy of my OCR (and its inability to deal with the mag's tinted backgrounds), I might as well retype the whole thing myself.

I don't really want to have to type out the letter for the invitation, but I am about to...

The hold up before was waiting for the conversion to Forgotten Realms. Even though I will be running STAP from FR, I would rather have just the stuff from 139 if that is all that is available...

Paizo Employee Creative Director

Again... after Gen Con, things are insane here. We've got one or two less weeks to work on a magazine than normal, which means we have to rob production and development time from the NEXT issue, and so on, until we get caught up. During this time, we just don't have the resources to get online supplements up and running, and once these days are over, a lot of people tend to take a few days off to recover. Which is the stage we're coming out of now.

All of which is a way of saying, yes, we're aware that the map/illustration supplement for #139 is late, and we'll be doing our best to get it online ASAP. It'd be a minor miracle to get it online this week, but next week's certainly doable.

Thanks James - a lot of us appreciate what you are doing for our game.

Ah well, my group will have to settle into Greyhawk after all, I can't tell them oh, just one more week again... Thank you for all your effort anyway. <pout>

James,

What are the odds of getting this by the end of the week?

Thanks.

There's a 90% chance of the upload being available by this week.

But there's only a 10% chance of that.

Seriously, though... I'd like to get them online ASAP. Giving exact dates is the path to madness. They'll be there when they're there.

No worries James. I trust you and your crews to deliver quality. Being "on time" (whatever that means) is something I gave up with back when Diablo 2 was coming out. If I can wait an extra year and get an awesome computer game, I can wait an extra week and get the supplement to an awesome adventure.

BTW When do you sleep!?! I've seen you post replies at 3 in the morning! You're worse than me, for the love of Pelor!

Make a SAN roll at all publishing deadlines for a loss of 1d8/1 SAN :)

BTW, I'm pretty sure Paizo Employee is a minor servitor race... probably serving the Great Old One, WotC.

I'll see what I can do to get things moving, but with everything going on at Paizo now... it's possible that we might just not have enough people to keep these enhancemnets going. I hope that's not the case, but there do seem to be some bottlenecks in the process.

So, no guarentees, but I'll do what I can. Of course... this week ends on a deadline for Dungeon #142, so I'll probably be too busy to get much done myself. Sigh.

Thanks James...do what ya can. It'd be sad to see the web enhancements die.

That would be a real dissapointment. I enjoy being able to use the player maps without having to manipulate the scanned maps for my PbP. =(

I personally don't care about the much maligned conversion notes (long-running saga in their own right) - I'd just like to have the artwork for use in my campaign. Just the artwork is fine with me, no text required.

James:

I'd like a bit of clarification: are the conversion notes threatened with extinction, or the entire online supplement for Dungeon issues?

Thanks,

Jack

That would be a shame. I feel that the web enhancements are huge. Just huge. A big reason why Dungeon is at the pinnacle of success that it is at right now. Just put Eric to the task. He' not busy. <g>

any chance of having the artwork seperate from the conversion notes?

Paizo Employee Creative Director

The conversion notes are indeed going to be seperate from the art/map supplement. I'm not sure if that's part of the reason things have slowed down our what, but it does actually look like things are going forward with both again. I wouldn't expect anything soon, but we'll get them out ASAP nonetheless.

Sounds like Paizo needs an extra staff member or two...or 7...

Pathfinder Roleplaying Game Superscriber; Pathfinder Starfinder Adventure Path, Starfinder Roleplaying Game Subscriber

I'd hate to see the web enhancment go away. They are great. In fact, I'd be willing to pay extra for them if that will help fund extra staff needed to get them out.

But not too much mind you :-)

Well, that is sad. I know what it's like to be bogged down with work. Good luck to the Dungeon staff, I feel for you.

I'm just gonna have to scan and convert all the maps myself. :) Extra work, but well worth it to enhance such a great set of adventures. Keep up the great work DUNGEON!

I am sure that there are people on the boards, who would donate time and help. If you need any help outside of the place, you just give the word. I mean I am no professional, but I'd be happy to help.

I *am* a professional with my own small company who'd gladly help out. Perhaps I'll send an email to Mr. Jacob's with a proposal.

I wouldn't mind so much about the delay in getting the Eberron conversion notes if they hadn't been promised in print. Now, we're to understand that the web enhancements such as this may go the way of the dinosaur...I'm truly at a loss. This isn't enouraging for Jacobs' watch as the new Editor-in-Chief...

I agree that because the magazine promises an online supplement, we ought to have one. However, I think James Jacobs is doing a great job. I think the new adventure path is awesome and from what I hear, the next adventure is the best one yet. We might not be getting the supplements we want, but we're getting some of the best adventuring in D&D history! But that's just my humble opinion...

The point is, I'm appreciating the quality of the magazine and see no need to take shots at James.

Correct! And I wonder when people will stop starting such threads as this one. We all know they're working on it, and there's absolutely no need to always ask when supplement no. XXX will be available for download...

I just got mine downloaded, and the darker illustrations that we could barely make out have been brightened up! I had no idea how much detail was in the cover art for TINH - sweet!!!! :)

Thanks to all involved in getting this supplement out to us - top quality as always!
