Peter Mulvey - Live at Ticonderoga
I don't even like folk music, but I went to see him when he came to town. I'm glad I did. He even gave out orders for a CD version of the concert--which was recorded by the TV station I work at. Ergo, I got a free copy. The CD also includes the FIRST EVER performance of the song 'Dynamite Bill (Makin' Things Go Boom).' Mr. Mulvey had written the song in his hotel room the night before. Awesome.

How does one order a CD version? Would you sell your soul and rip the Dynamite Bill track to an MP3 and email it to me?

My Trail Blazer holds 6 CDs - something that took me 2 days to realize after I bought it. I like to change it out every so often, but right now I've got U2, 3 Jimmy Buffet CDs, Evanescence, and Depeche Mode. I also like to throw in Linkin Park, Distrubed, Metallica, Black Sabbath, and the Highwaymen. Oh yeah, and occasionally Gregorian Chant.

I was part of the group that recorded the live version, so I got a free copy. It was a VERY limited release-- I think they only made enough for the people who were at the concert, but the tracks are all available on Lime Wire. What's your e-mail address?

That must have been a fun night.

Hmm...I never had a portable CD player. I made the jump from boombox to iPod with a long period in between where I just wasn't interested in music.
Ironically, as soon as I got the iPod, my voracious appetite for music could not (and still cannot) be satiated. After burning many a CD onto my iTunes from my father's library of classic rock CDs, I went through nearly $100 of iTunes gift cards that I received for Christmas. I then went on to burn anything of value from my CD library and then anything of value from my brother's. I soon discovered that my mom had a few good CDs mixed in with the stuff she likes that I don't. Then I turned to friends to recommend (and lend) me good music. When I had run out of that, I began to scour the internet looking at Wikipedia entries for bands I liked to see if there was even mention of another band of similar quality. Then when my friend got Guitar Hero II, I was introduced to many new bands and songs (and to a fun game). And it still goes on...I hunger for music!
Ahem. So yeah...but to answer the original question (sorta), my iPod contains mostly classic rock, heavy metal, alternative rock, and other assorted types of metal.

I'm certain Gowan received notoriety on an international scale, as it was visiting relatives in Newcastle, mid eighties, when I was initially exposed to the sounds of Lawrence Gowan. As a young impressionable lass, I'm not quite sure what won me over at the time, the music or Gowan's hair...
Your suspicion rings true Twiceborn, I'm a very proud Canadian!
