Team Components

Hive is a board-less, strategic game for 2 players ages 8 and up. The object of the game is to surround your opponent's queen bee while trying to block your opponent from doing the same to your queen bee.

Each player has 11 tiles, all in all, representing 5 different insects. The players take turns, either choosing to add a tile to the hive or moving a tile in the hive.

Each tile has a unique way of moving (like in chess) and resembles the movement of the insect depicted on the tile. For instance, the grasshopper is the only tile which can jump.

Hive is a fun game to play because of its simple rules, yet challenging for its depth. Hive enhances each player's skills of strategic planning, tactical thinking and spatial vision. To win, you must play both the offense (surround your opponent's bee) and the defense (to protect your queen bee).

A nice decorative storage bag makes it easy to carry, store and play anywhere.

Hive: Mosquito Expansion

Team Components

This expansion to Hive introduces two Mosquito pieces (for a total of 12 pieces for each player) to your Hive game. Once in play, the Mosquito takes on the movement characteristics of any creature it touches at the time, thus changing its characteristics throughout the game.

Hive: Carbon

Hive Carbon is a new edition of Yianni's Hive that plays the same as that classic two-player game but with stylin' black-on-white and white-on-black pieces instead of the multicolor bugs running around in the current edition. What's more Hive Carbon will include the mosquito piece that was previously sold separately as well as a new ladybug piece.

Hive: Ladybug Expansion

Team Components The Ladybug, a graceful insect, can now be added to the standard Hive set! The Ladybug can move three spaces at a time, two on top of the hive then one down. It cannot move around the outside of the Hive and cannot end its movement on top of the hive. It can, however, move into or out of surrounded spaces that make the Ladybug much faster.

Hive: Carbon Pillbug Expansion

Team Components The Pillbug moves one space at a time, but has a special ability it may use instead of moving. The special ability allows the Pillbug to move an adjacent piece (friend or enemy) two spaces, up onto itself and then down into another empty space adjacent to itself.
