Is this adventure path worth purchasing for me (details inside).

I'm interested in the building and shaping of a colony e.g. can a tier 10 computer run a system by itself, a planet, a city? What kind of power generators are available, what colony units can I build etc. I'm not really interested in spending the money if its a "the colony grows in the background as the PC's do hero stuff elsewhere" type adventure path which is the vibe I'm getting from the summaries of the modules.

Does anyone know how in depth it goes into building a colony/city in the starfinder era and if it would be worth buying for someone more interested in the colony building aspects of this adventure path?

There are implications and consequences for the colony building portion of the AP so it is not completely background. However based on what you are describing the action is mostly the PCs going to solve problems adjacent to the colony's growth. I suspect the difference between what you would like and what it provides off the shelf is more than you would be interested in adapting.

So not even the pathfinder level of choosing what you build in the city and its effects then thanks.

The subsystem does let you choose resource allocations, what kind of special types of things to build and those choices can have mechanical impacts. I've never read or played Kingmaker so I can't use that as a reference.

The Charter Development rules are available in their entirety on the Archives of Nethys, at this link.

Everything else in the AP is specific to this charter and adventure.

Thanks, looks like its similar to pathfinder kingdom rules and not what I want which is a shame. Doesn't even say what kind of power supplies you can use fusion, fission, solar?

The rules just aren't that detailed. They're more abstract, which also allows them to be more flexible, I suppose.

Fine for rules but not worldbuilding sadly.

If you want worldbuilding, you cannot go wrong with the Galaxy Exploration Manual or the Deck of Many Worlds.

I have made use of both products when worldbuilding -- whether for homebrew or when writing official content for the game. I am proud of Horizons of the Vast but it's designed to be an adventure rather than a rulebook. Hopefully the other resources will be more helpful to you in your world building!

Hmm

One more thought: Senko, if you do write up something to help with world-building for Starfinder, I'd love to see it. Maybe you could publish it with Paizo Infinite!
