The Starfinder Society travels to Castrovel to attend a museum gala celebrating the grand opening of its latest archaeological exhibit: a showcase of ancient civilizations of the Vast. With artifacts and belongings from the Scoured Stars in tow, the Starfinders prepare an exhibit display, network with esteemed archaeologists and organizations, and enjoy the event. TL; DR-Welcome to the sixth season! 90%

Basics- LET’S GO TO THE… museum? The Starfinder society is partnering with many different groups to show off artifacts of the past. What wonders will be shown, what friends will be made, and who might want to mess with this display?

Mechanics or Crunch- Paizo has a solid adventure here, with a decent balance of talking and combat. The flow is mostly talking for the first half and then combat for the second. There are a lot of NPCs to sway, so combat might get a little bit left to the side as its really only two fights. That said, it's done well. 4.5/5

Theme or Fluff- This is a one building adventure. You really only spend time in one museum for the entire adventure, schmoozing with different people learning about things that will happen later in the season's adventures. That is pretty standard for the first adventure in a Starfinder Society season. My one issue is the adventure is pretty short. Most of the time I run this it's less than three hours for a five hour session. The players have fun and the story is decent. Overall, its a good addition to the first adventures of each season. 4.5/5

Execution- PDF? Yep. Hyperlinked? Yep. Solid Art? Yep. Good layout? Yep! This is what I expect from a Paizo adventure. Things are not perfect, as they give good pictures for everything except for one enemy type, so you will need your own picture. It’s not bad by any means, but it's one small thing. 4.5/5

Summary- This is a fun adventure. It's short and a little unbalanced in story tempo if you are a combat monster, but overall it's a good one. I had fun, and so did my players. It’s not perfect, but definitely one that I will be gladly running for multiple groups this year! 90%

Interesting to see the Scoured Stars showing up in this one. With the Scoured Stars Adventure Path coming in July I wonder if we will see more Scoured Stars references in year 6...

Y'know what's wild about that art for the villainous android on the cover is that, completely coincidentally, she's, like, 90% a perfect match for a GMPC I've been running in my home game. :)

Villainous? How quickly we jump to conclusions.

Yeah, something that *has* been an improvement in OrgPlay is 'cover boss' not always being someone the party has to *fight*.

Again, an assumption sight unseen of material but it's good to see a step away from that mentality.

There’s at least two reasons to think she can’t be all bad.

I actually paused to ponder that while typing my posts, but, uh, the thing is...

glances down at the extracted factoid now nestled in the crook of my arm

    looks back at you

    "LOOK OUT! ELVIS!"

    throws smoke bomb,
    fires grappler through the skylight,
    zips up into the night

    AND IS GONE

I am curious- is this available for purchase early because of Paizocon? I played it there, but I have not seen it in my subscription.

The opposite. I think they pushed it back after PaizoCon so they could premire there. I haven't gotten anything about my sub either and it isn't listed (only 6-03 & 6-04 for next month) so I think whoever was in charge of that missed it with the release date change or still recovering from the con.

    Ah, thanks!

PaizoCon and GenCon frequently get to include scenarios before their official releases, to help encourage attendance. Scenarios usually release the last Wednesday of the month (Nov and Dec sometimes release early due to holidays)

Still nothing from my subscriptions. Saying 6-03 is next at this point so I'm a little worried...

Send an e-mail to customer.service@paizo.com and inquire about your May society subscriptions. Something went wrong, and they need to fix it -- but you will need to let them know about it.

I had the same problem, and they fixed it fairly quickly.

Thank you David. I did as you recommended and quickly received the scenarios. Much appreciated!

    Yikes
Anyone care to share why they think this ranked so low?

You can read the reviews yourself, if you're interested - direct link, in case the Paizo site ate the link.

Common themes seem to be (spoilers, obv)

    Spoiler:
the vicious trap in between the first and second combat encounters (which has fortunately been fixed since release - the stats in the currently available version are much less TPK-adjacent) plus problems with an all-skills heavy first half, and then an all-combats second half.
