Just making sure: Is the foundry module + pdf only supposed to cost 21$? I only own the single pdfs not the hardcover. Afaik the discount should not have applied. I mean sure i like paying less, but i would rather not cheat you guys.

That isn't cheating them, that is paying what we should be paying given the changes in the hardcover are supposedly negligible and not worth an errata according to their staff.

Do you have to have the hardback PDF? I have the PDFs from being a subscriber but it isn't showing a discount for me.

So - will i have discount for having separate PDFs or only for having omnibus version? Should i buy this adventure twice (trice - including Foundry VTT copy)

I had to email customer service to get the .pdf after my pre-order of the special edition hardcover. Got the .pdf in less than an hour, though I haven’t had a chance to review it yet.

I have the 3 part PDFs from being a subscriber. I just tried to checkout and its not giving me a discount, but it is offering to let me get the omnibus PDF for free.

I feel like this is an error.. either in the shopping cart, or on the part of marketing. If you're claiming you get a discount for owning the PDF, shouldn't users who already bought the 3-part PDFs get the same discount?

Too bad I can't get this with discount for owning the 3 separate PDF's. I'd rather use pf2foundry than pay again for what I assume is a tremendous module, but also PDF I already have.

Just looked at it. This is a great release.

But it makes me sad to see the high resolution images of the original maps and creates in comparison to what we get when we buy the PDFs.

Please a ZIP with high resolution images to digital releases Paizo!

Oof. It feels really bad that those of us who helped make AV such a wide spread success that y'all republished it again don't get appreciated. This has made me significantly reconsider if I want to support Paizo products on Foundry.

If it's possible, could you please make a discount for the item as I already have 3 separate PDFs purchased? (I've actually bought them and I didn't receive them with the AP subscription)

I understand that this is in keeping with previous compilations, the thing that feels different for me at least is that there is not a major update such as from 3.5 to 1E or 1E to 2E. In fact, it was your comment on the hardcover product page that the compilations would "Thus, not a lot of revisions. We just want to get it printed and in the hands of players ASAP. It could be for collectors as a sentiment, but I see it mostly for new players."

I love my updated collection of Rise of the Runelords and am eagerly looking forward to my 2e collectors edition Kingmaker. This however, seems to be a project that does not align to the project scope of previous compilations. I would hope that the Paizo team might consider how this project differs from those others in that light.

One one hand, the foundry module is significant work, on the other we payed for the AP already with minimal changes. I would agree that 60$ is a bit steep for that, but applying the full discount (for all three volumes)seems a bit much. So maybe have a 5$ or up 15$ Discount would be seen as more appropriate?

Anyone i should contact then? The order is already completed. (with the wrong? discount, at least i have no idea where a 77% discount came from otherwise)

What was the decision behind the treasure not being unidentified? Seems odd that so much of the loot doesn't require identify checks.

Because the module includes the PDF basically. so you are getting it anyway from the journal entries.

Just voicing my agreement with what others have said. I have purchased all 3 pdfs and physical copies of AV. I also own pdf and physical copies of the Beginner's Box, plus the FoundryVTT version. I also have purchased the pdf version of Troubles in Otari, for what its worth.

It feels bad that I am disqualified from the discount, even though the entire reason I invested so heavily in AV is due to the foundry release.

I will still buy this because I want to support and encourage the partnership with foundryvtt and I want to see more come of it in the future... but I am definitely going to be waiting for the 'Gotcha' before I purchase.

Chiming in to add myself to the list of dissatisfied folks. I understand that there's some kind of precedent being referenced; but the fact remains, I bought and legally own the individual pdfs of the adventure. I'm not happy about having to pay the same price as someone who had bought nothing, while folks that happened to buy a different format of the same adventure get a discount; *and*, I get a free pdf with purchase --of the same adventure that I already have pdfs of.

I'm already running this adventure in Foundry VTT. I was really looking forward to upgrading for the parts that remain --and was under the impression that, just like the beginner box, already owning the pdf would be a benefit. So this is quite the letdown. I may hold off on this one. This also makes me a bit wary of purchasing future pdfs, as I'd rather not pay twice should it come out on Foundry.

I realize this may sound like whining to some; but I honestly just wanted to share my feedback with paizo, instead of changing my purchasing behavior invisibly to them.

No clue personally, but I'll take your word for it. Regardless, that's why I went on to explain my reasoning. Which has nothing to do with there being multiple versions.

Unless your point is that, going forward, folks should beware buying the non-collected pdfs, as they may not be considered for discounts? In which case yes, fair enough. Would have been nice to know beforehand, though.

It's not non-collected PDFs aren't considered for discounts, it's that the discount being offered is for the specific product, the collected version.

Possibly because of a technical concern in how that's handled but that's just me guessing.

The issue is that the discount is offered so that you don't have to buy the same product twice, in this case the AV AP. There is such a small difference between A, B, C vs D that if you want the foundry version you'll have to throw 39 USD in the trash as the majority of the price goes to buying a product you in essence already owns.

Three separate different PDFs I would say is not a small difference. Don't look at it as "I have AV why do I need to buy AV" but "I have program a, b, and c and this requires program d".

D only exists because so many of us bought A,B and C.

If you don't have it already, buying the Foundry modules gets you the compilation PDF for free. It's not a discount so much as a bundled PDF with the product.

Yea it is a bit disappointing that already owning the PDFs doesn’t qualify for some sort of discount even if it is slightly less significant.

I'm a little confused as to what the price is supposed to be for the Foundry module.

I'm a subscriber, so I have the individual PDFs of the original release, but not the hardcover. I bought the Foundry module yesterday and it was $21.00 and included a free copy of the hardcover compilation.

The $21.00 for the Foundry module seems like a great price (if memory serves, it's about par with what Fantasy Grounds charged for the module if you owned the PDF already). The content looks great and I'm glad I bought it BUT if I had to purchase the hardcover PDF just to get access to the Foundry module when I already bought the individual PDFs, I would have been pretty upset.

I imagine this is a one-off thing due to the timing of the release of official content for Foundry and the release of the hardcover. Hopefully going forward, digital content for Foundry will be sold with each individual release rather than compilations of recent product.

Definitely feels like a slap in the face to the people who don't need the new pdf because they already bought the original adventures.

Why not just have a $21 price for the Foundry module, and a separate $39 for the compiled pdf? Instead of making the module $60 and including the pdf for "free"?

Yeah, I don't actually have any intention of running AV anytime soon, but I was prepared to buy this just to support the Paizo and Foundry partnership as I expected to have it discounted as someone who has purchased this AP via my subscription. That not being the case? No, I'm not paying full price for this, again.

I'm also rather frustrated that I can't get a discount for this product. The people who own the compiled hardcover PDF have essentially the same content I do, but they're getting a 66% discount and I'd be paying full price, which I can't justify. I understand supporting a fair resolution for people who got the original volumes is more work, but I really encourage you don't follow this pattern in the future, because it makes the AP subscription a lot less appealing as a loyalty program.

It's not even about getting a discount. That implies we're trying to pay less for a product we want. It's about being required to pay extra for a product we don't.

If I don't want or need the pdf and just want the Foundry module, then I have to pay the $39 extra for the pdf anyway.

It's framed like a discount, but when I have to buy the pdf either way then it's not a discount. It's just being forced to buy a product I don't want for the privilege of buying one that I do.

The only reasonable explanation for setting these prices is to squeeze as much money as possible out of existing, paying customers. Otherwise just set the Foundry module at $21 and the pdf at $39.

It could also be something the system just can't support correctly. They have lot of troubles with PDFs granted by special editions granting discounts.If the system struggles with (Has 1 OR 2), it would surprise me if it supported (Has (1 AND 2 AND 3) OR 4) at all.

When they announced the foundryvtt partnership, they said those who already own the books will get a discount. So I went ahead and bought all the books. Both the PDFs (so that I could download and start prepping for the game immediately) and the physical copies (so that I am not chained to my computer 12+ hours a day). I would have certainly waited and bought the compendium version instead had it been clear when they made the partnership announcement that it was only that specific version that provided the discount.

That all being said, I ponied up the 60$ for the foundry version and I will say... It's awesome. Such great content. Fantastic maps, awesome journals, great sound effects and music. I'm very excited to run my players through it.

Maybe not good enough to justify the 200+ dollars I've invested in it. But at least I can say it is indeed a high quality product.

Folks they've literally said multiple times that the reason behind this is a limitation of their API. Their API can't confirm multiple product purchases at the same time, so it has no way of knowing you bought all three of the previous modules. It can however tell if you bought the single compilation. It sucks for those of us who subscribe, but in the end what you're paying for isn't the AP, you're paying for the hours and hours of work that went into making the amazing Foundry module.

They were also clear from the START that only the compilation would get the discount.

Love this paizo please keep doing foundry stuff. I will br buying this even though I wasnt a big fan of AV. But the maps and tokens can be used. For other games and stuff. I hope you guys do the same for kingmaker.

Oi oi oi, and now fists of the ruby phoenix is getting a collection too... meaning when it releases on foundry the same issue will present again.

Someone needs to fix this, not only are you locking errata away behind these collection purchases (it is a pdf, I don't care if you don't think it matters I and others I have spoken to do).

I will put this in very simple terms as a customer:

- I have been purchasing adventures to support paizo and build a library over time that I can pick and choose to run adventures from while supporting the company.

- If I want to run any of these going forward it seems like paizo thinks I should pay a premium for content I already own and that should have gotten an errata document for anyway. Existing customers mattering less than new customers.

- As a result from now on I simply won't be buying adventures as they come out as there is every chance they will be out of date by the time I run the adventure and I will be charged a second time to run it on foundry. (Fists of the ruby phoenix is an example of one I planned to run next year when I bought it late last year)

This is not a threat, this is simple fact... I am happy to support a company who I feel values its customers, but this was the wrong way to handle this. And it absolutely could have been sorted in the last two months if it was an issue with existing discount systems.

Not looking forward to hearing "we will be releasing quest for the frozen flame in a collection format", as that is one I have also purchased with intent to eventually run it.

Oh btw I have bought it again for the full price because I was going to be running the AV again in july and I really wanted to support the foundry team. Plus my players are already brainstorming characters and I got them excited for the adventure.

But it doesn't make things any better, and if anything it makes me more angry.

I own the three AP pdfs from the paizo store, but that doesn't seem to offer a discount on the new compilation or the FoundryVTT release. That is...a bummer. It feels like a poor way to treat older fans who have been running the old version on foundry and singing its praises looking forward to this release. I hope paizo will reconsider and for those of us who decide to purchase the new release after the old would consider a store credit. This is definitely going to make me reconsider future pdf purchases.

They already said multiple times that only the compilation would provide the discount, as it literally is not the same product as the three books individually. No promises have been broken because nobody ever said that the original three books would garner a discount.
