As far as I know it is the first Lost Omens book to get a special edition, which probably explains why it is happening later than the original release - they must have just recently decided to do special editions for Lost Omens books, or are doing it for one of the most prominent ones to gauge how interested people are and will then decide whether to do it for the rest.

Very nice. Are we going to see the entire Lost Omens line be deluxified now? I'd prefer deluxe versions, but if it is going to be sporadic it will look weird.
Yes, we intend to do all of them monthly starting in July until we catch up, and then plan to release them day and date from that point forward if they sell well enough.
People have been asking for these from the start, and since we are so proud of the Lost Omens line and it is doing so well, we figured let’s give it a shot!

Seems strange to make this so long after the original release. Are the contents the same?
Contents will be in line with the most recent print edition. I’m almost all cases (at least for now) that’s still the first, but it’s conceivable that we will have a reprint with changes before we get to the Special Edition. In that case we will go with the most recent standard edition printing.

Will there be a different subscription for the Special Edition line, similarly to the rulebooks? Also, will the Mwangi Expanse and Absalom books have different spines, just as they do in standard edition?
Good questions that I will seek answers for, but we don't yet have any new subscriptions to announce, nor so we have any details about the Mwangi Expanse and Absalom book spines at this time.

As a Lost Omens line subscriber, I find myself wondering: Will those of us who have been faithful to the line until now who want to get the books that we already own in special edition get any kind of discount/return policy?

You could sell your book on the second-hand market to pay towards for the new blue books.

Any update on this? I hoped to hear something about this at PaizoCon, but if it was brought up, I definitely missed it.

You haven’t missed anything. Our subscription changes announcement has been delayed due to technical challenges. Stay tuned

It's the end of June now, and I was wondering if there was any update on this. Waiting to subscribe with bated breath.

A little confused -- the blog posts/email blast suggest this has been released, and the product page suggests its current shipping. But it didn't ship with the rest of the current release content (Dark Archive) and appears to have gotten stuck in my sidecart.
Should it have shipped and I'll need to ask CS to look into it? Or was it announced in the blogs/emails a week early (given the data Aaron lists as Aug 4 above)?

My August 4th date, above, was the copy/paste of an error from when we thought the product would be held for release at Gen Con. It is not being held, but shipping is still in process. There were numerous products and our warehouse is also shipping to Gen Con. Thanks for your patience and patronage.

It seems that some but not all of these Lost Omens Special Editions have pdfs, and some do not. Is that an errata kind of thing, or is something else going on? I don't really see a need to buy a "special edition" pdf if it's identical (except for the cover and maybe back matter) to the base book pdf I already have.
