A Pathfinder Society Scenario designed for 1st- through 4th-level characters.

After a group of prospectors discovered an ancient, abandoned dwarven ruin within the mountain known as Droskar's Crag, they reported their finding to the Pathfinder Society. The Society sent a group to enter the peak and explore the sprawling complex within. In the process, they made some new allies, recovered some lost relics, and discovered multiple entrances leading deeper into the ruined site. What else lies within the depths of Droskar's Crag? Venture-Captain Luna Aldred has sent out a call for Pathfinders to delve the ruins once more in search of treasure and knowledge that might otherwise be lost to the ages, but there is no telling what dangers might lie in wait...

    Competent Dungeon Crawl but...

    3/5

Reasonable Dungeon Crawl. You don't get to fight the cool creature they hint at the whole scenario and all the pay off feels like it's "outside of scope"

Map and instructions for which way you choose to go are also quite confusing.

Is generally a cool location though with good flavor. Better payoff or better connections could have gotten it to 4 stars.

    Dungeon crawl with some setup

    3/5

It's fine, I wish I could write something more interesting but it feels a bit like the middle child, and I am not entirely sure if this scenario mostly serves as a setup for 3-98.

I had a good GM, and no major issues when I played this, but I am having a hard time getting excited about what I experienced. This might be because I don't tend to love dungeon crawls without a stronger narrative element... I am not saying, that this hasn't been done well, it's just that I am really not the target audience.

That is essentially all I can say as a player, I likely have more insight once I have prepped the scenario.

Edit: it might absolutely be the case that the preceding scenario, this one, and the upcoming special form a greater whole, and if that is the case I plan to update this review.

Good scenario, but nothing super exciting IMHO.

    3/5

(I both GMed and played this scenario.)

This is a good dungeon crawl. Nothing super exciting, but if you want to bash in skulls for a few hours, this is a good scenario to pick. But that's about it. There's a few skill checks to make things interesting, but there's barely any roleplaying to be done and narratively it falls a little flat. It has the typical "second part in a trilogy"-problem, where you have to build on what came before, but also need to set up the final(?) part, and therefore can't really stand on its own. There's a few cool setpieces here, but the conclusion fell a bit flat for me.

Behind the scenes, as a GM, everything's set up really well. No editing mistakes, everything is clear and the final boss has clear instructions on what to do. I like that. I hadn't heard of the author before, but if this is their first work, very well done! I've seen much worse.

All in all, it's a good scenario, but nothing really excites me about it. My players did agree it was a good dungeoncrawl, but I wish it had a little bit more pizzazz.

Well Put Together, but a few concerns

    4/5

There's not any glaring problems with the scenario. Its a pretty decent small little dungeon crawl and the author did a good job of putting atmospheric touches to make the necromantic dungeon seem creepy. My players at the end of scenario definitely seemed to accept that they didn't want to search farther into the dungeon that was outside the bounds of the scenario.

My one concern is that is possible that there wasn't much challenge to it? We played it in high tier, with one player playing out of tier, and none of the combats seemed to really ruffle their feathers. Its possible that was just party make-up. Almost all the monsters resisted 2/3 of the types of physical damage, but it was the same type of damage for all of them, and the party I ran it for, all 4 could do quite a bit of that type of damage. Even if they didn't resist damage, only 1 opponent had a high AC for their level, and the rest had low-to-moderate ACs, so there were a lot of crits. Most of the skill checks seemed 1 or 2 points too low to feel like a challenge.

I believe it follows up on the events of Pathfinder Society Scenario #2-19: Enter the Pallid Peak.

I'm so excited to see Pallid Peak is getting a sequel! I can't wait to see what Caryn does!

I was checking my subscription downloads and found 3-10 is "Pending". Where do I go to find out why?

I got billed for the subscription, but when I went to download the PDFs, they're not even listed in my downloads. I emailed customer service so I'm just waiting for a reply. For 3-10 & 3-11.

I just wanted to share that you're not the only one having an issue, & it's a little reliving to know I'm not the only one.
