I don't know who exactly Lantondo is, but it's important to note that in 2e NPCs aren't built like players, and may have something where you'd expect a class, that is instead just meant as a guide for the types of things they are good at. For example, a mayor may just say "level 5 mayor" or a guard may be listed as level 6 protector.

Do subscribers get the pdf when shipping authorization starts? not sure how that works.

If you're subscribed you get access to the PDF when your order ships and you're actually charged for the order ^w^

Impossible! Perhaps the archives are incomplete?

Is there any new news on release schedule? My players and me are relay excited for this book. I understand if there are delays and all. But waiting with no news has me on the edge of my seat. I find my self checking this form and the customer service pages at least once an hour . :p

When we have something to announce regrind the August 25 release date we will do so in the Customer Service Forum. We just had the Aug 4 release date, rolled from late July. Thank you for your enthusiasm. Please let the process proceed.

Just noticed that it is no longer possible to preorder any physical version of this book. Will it be possible to order it after it launches on aug 25th?
After it launches, almost definitely. I think the pro-order is currently disabled because of an uncertain launch window due to potential delays. Malevolence and Ruby Phoenix were also like this when they got delayed due to shipping problems.

I see a lot of mention of the Customer Service thread being updated for products? Which thread is that? We don't have an August thread or a Secrets of Magic thread there that I can find.
My assumption is that they will create and sticky an August thread when they have something to tell us about it.

Thank you very much. Honestly this whole situation has been stressing me out. Honestly maybe it is a statement to my own financial situation, but the stress of the two week window of when the subscription costs hits is already bad. This new situation is making it worse.
I don't know, maybe I need to be responsible and just cancel all my subscriptions if I can't afford the stress of when payments are going to be removed.

Nothing useful to say other than, I'm sorry, I've been in that situation myself, and it sucks. Wish this wasn't happening to you.

I hate to say it but yeah, if the timing of the money going out of the account means issues for you, that implies there were other things you couldn't pay for if they came out on time (because in the end your entertainment budget is the same, whether its 50 dollars each in two separate months, or 100 dollars at once a month later-- you would have had to have the 100 dollars to spend to begin with that you don't need to spend on other things, from not spending it on the books in the original month they were supposed to come out.)
I hope times get better for you, I know how rough that kind of situation can feel, even if its just the stress of a larger number leaving the account and showing you what you're spending, as opposed to the timing influencing whether you can 'afford' it.

Sometimes money is just moving in and out of an account a lot as you shuffle around finances or try to manage expenses and payments.
Part of the stress just comes from the potential inconsistency, because who knows what the account might look like next week at any given moment and it only takes one minor screw-up for a bank to start sending you into a financial death spiral of fees and penalties.
I get why Paizo does things the way they do, but sometimes I wish companies that worked this way just had an option somewhere to pay immediately, just so the consumer could have a little more control over when the charge is sent out.

One thing I do is I buy the certificates every month to add money to my Paizo account. That say I dont worry about the money coming out of my account. I put a set amount in every month, even if Im only getting one Ap book, that way I build up a little surplus, in case a time comes when I have a real emergency i can skip putting some in for a month.
If that is an option you can try that.

I just hate when my subscription ships after the street date. It's not part of my subscription to get the pdf early (though it's obviously exciting), but it really sucks to know it almost would be more satisfying to not subscribe. I want this physical book, and mostly that makes the subscription worthwhile, but it will be feelbad to have my subscription ship on the 25th or later.

This exactly. I already struggle with the idea of having my subscription because I'm not supporting my local gaming store by having it (who always has the books available on the street date). Even the free PDF isn't a huge value as the shipping cost is almost the price of the PDF.
I'm not complaining or trying to put down the subscription, but I've already been questioning it and weighing the pros and cons for me personally.

Yeah, the shipping estimate is still the same, they're just going to tighten the gap between order spawning and shipment starting. They're doing their best with the global shipping nonsense to make sure everything gets out on time, and they're still waiting on one of the ~minor~ releases of the month to make sure they can try to get that out on time too.

Were books being shipped and pdfs released today for subscribers or is that all going to take place on or about August 25th? I'm a new subscriber and not sure how that works.
Normally books ship out 1-2 weeks before Street Date, with subscribers receiving their PDF when their book ships. With all of the shipping problems in the world right now, time tables are a bit screwy. We should hear from them today on what the plans are, but the last time table we received was:
•Authorization (Order Spawning) Date: Thursday, August 12th Friday, August 13th [Note; this has not started yet. Hopefully will start today]
•Begin Shipping Estimate: Monday, August 16th
•End Shipping Estimate: Wednesday, August 25th
[Note; Subscribers would get their PDF somewhere in this window]
•Street Date for Paizo Products: Wednesday, August 25th
You can follow the updates in the customer service section of the forums. Specifically Here
