A Starfinder Society Scenario designed for levels 3-6.

As the Starfinder Society investigates mercenary laboratories producing an unstable combat-enhancing drug, the latest lead takes an experienced team to the arboreal ghoran homeworld, Ghorus Prime. The Starfinder agents must discover who is funding these dangerous experiments while investigating a growing blight on the forested planet—and determine if these events are connected. This scenario is the conclusion of the Frozen Ambitions series, but these scenarios can be played in any order.

Frozen Ambitions is an ongoing series of adventures set in the Year of Exploration's Edge. These lower-level adventures are the perfect starting point for any new Starfinder character, and can be integrated into almost any ongoing campaign with little extra effort. The adventures in the Frozen Ambitions series can be played in any order.

A nice conclusion to the series.

    4/5

    (I played this.)

After the mediocre start of this series, it luckily ended on a strong note. While there are some flaws in this scenario, it also has enough high points that I overall judge it as a positive experience.

The story is a bit flat, especially as the capstone of this series, but that's compensated by good exploration. Maybe it's just good improvisation on the GM's part, but we had the feeling that the writer encouraged out-of-the-box approaches, which is nice. The combats weren't too special, but they also weren't bad or out of balance. We also got a surprisingly capable NPC who tagged along with us, which is a nice touch.

    Story spoiler:
Two things I don't like are:
    - How entirely one-dimensional the boss is. It's almost comical how '80s action movie evil he is.
    - While the blurb says you're supposed to discover who is funding these experiments, the scenario basically spells it out for you in the opening box text, and you're just sent out to collect evidence. Our GM left that out and let us stumble upon that ourselves, which felt much more satisfying (granted, if you've played the previous parts, you're guaranteed to know this, but as an overall story arc it just feels right to nail him with this).

Overall, I would say this is a mediocre adventure, but it has just enough nice touches to make it actually worth playing.

    Woo, Go Isis!

Oh, thank goodness the character I'm playing through these hasn't outleveled or underleveled for the conclusion!

    Congrats to the author!

Does the module mention what system Ghorus Prime is in?

    No.

Thanks. I'm seeing lots of systems on the Archives that use the primary planet's name and have no System name. I think I'll go with that as a naming convention with a blanket statement of "until it is officially recognized by the Pact Worlds, that's what us spacers call it..." Then if Paizo changes it in a later module, well that system got an official recognition and an official name.

Best I can come up with.

Shove me in a corner and demand a name for the star/system and I'd go with Ghorus, with Ghorus Prime being its sole hospitable planet.
