Key monsters and NPCs from the Shattered Star Adventure Path come alive on your tabletop with the Shattered Star Pawn Collection, featuring more than 100 creature pawns for use with the Pathfinder Roleplaying Game or any tabletop fantasy RPG! Printed on sturdy cardstock, each pawn presents a beautiful full-color image of a monster or NPC from the Shattered Star campaign, including giants, constructs, ancient undead, Lovecraftian horrors, and dozens of unique NPCs also suitable for representing player characters. Designed for use with the Pathfinder RPG Bestiary Box, each cardstock pawn slots into a size-appropriate plastic base from that collection—making them easy to mix with traditional metal or plastic miniatures—and supplements the Bestiary Box’s creatures, together providing pawns for nearly every Shattered Star encounter. With tons of distinct creature images, the Shattered Star Pawn Collection brings to life the enemies and allies from all six adventures of the Shattered Star Adventure Path.
Note: This product does not include bases. It is intended for use with the bases found in the Pathfinder RPG Bestiary Box.

The Shattered Star Adventure Path Pawn Collection continues the grand tradition of beautiful full color pawns to help you run your Shattered Star campaign. If you're not running the Shattered Star AP, this is still an excellent set of pawns to pick up - especially if you ever consider running an adventure in Kaer Maga as it comes with duskwardens, a troll augur and more!
The art is gorgeous, the card stock is strong and the selection is magnificent. They're pawns. If you love pawns, you'll love this set. See the full list on Paizo.com to see exactly what you're getting.
Short Version: If you're running Shattered Star and use a grid, I'd suggest picking these up.
One of my players picked this up and it's proven very nice. The pawns look good and are sturdy enough for repeated use.
I do have two caveats:
1) The pawns are restricted by what art is in the AP. If the enemy doesn't have a full-body image (or full-body art in another book) it doesn't seem to appear. This can cause some gaps.
2) You should get enough pawns for each encounter when combined with the appropriate Bestiary boxes. However, if you end up combining encounters, you can easily run short on pawns.
All in all, I'm still very glad we picked them up, but it's not a pure no-brainer.
I realy like this set. It has everything what you for the Shattered Star Adventure Path, IF you also have the Bestiary 2 box. And that is wat the product says: "It is intended for use with the Pathfinder RPG Bestiary Box."
So I do not see any problems.
I am already writing some extra adventrers with some of the NPC's, because I like them really much.
Even though some of the creatures are missing from the set, it includes all the NPC's from the Adventure Path and that to me is more important in the long run. Considering the Bestiary box sets will have the so called missing creatures from the set I am ok with them not being here. I would hate to have the redundancy for when I buy the Bestiary box sets.
Not knowing which ones are missing from the set is not to difficult to figure out... as I plan things kind of ahead of time it will not be hard to just look the creatures up and see which ones are not in the set and which ones are in the bestiary box sets. Do not need a list of what is NOT in them.
As far as the images being cut off.. I know they do not make the art work specifically for these pawns.. so I can live with that as it is rather minor in my opinion. I have the creature with the art I wanted to represent the encounter.. this is what matters :)
Announced! Product image is a mockup and will change prior to publication.
Note: Now that we offer Pathfinder Pawns subscriptions, and those include free PDFs as the primary benefit, the Pawns subscription is the only sub that qualifies for free PDFs for this product.
Our manufacturing costs for the first few sets ended up being higher than we anticipated; this will be the new price for this type of product whether it gets another sheet or not.
Yep—this will give you options for all of the core classes in all of the core races.
But what about all the core genders?!
Anywho! For the Shattered Star set I was wondering when we might be able to expect a content list. What I'm specifically interested in is the giants! While the Rise of the Runelords set covers my ogre, troll, hill and stone giant needs I still require more frost and fire giants. They're kind of a big deal in my custom setting.
If this set has good frost and fire coverage that alone would be enough to sell me on this product. ^_^
For the Shattered Star set I was wondering when we might be able to expect a content list.
It'll be a while—the list hasn't even been finalized yet.
Four months later...any update?
I just got my Shattered Star minis yesterday, and I'd like to have the "right" number of minis+pawns to be able to run the whole AP; that will likely mean purchasing some minis as singles, and the sooner I can do that, the lower my cost is likely to be.
I can go through the AP and tally up the max number of any given creature I'd need for any given encounter, and compare that to my case count for the minis, but I'm hoping I don't have to wait another two months to get the pawns list, so I can start shopping for singles.
While the list has theoretically been finalized, we don't announce stuff like that until after we've approved printer samples... just in case.
Thanks for the response, and I get that this is the only solid information available for now.
Unfortunately, it's still frustrating because I not only don't have a content list (which I'd expected) but still don't know when I might.
Sigh. Hopefully I won't end up needing very many singles; the only reason to start buying them soon is my fear of price increases, which won't matter much if I only need a few additional Commons.
I'm kinda surprised that the NPC Codex set contents have been listed, while the list for this set is still in limbo. After all, the NPC Codex set isn't due out until May and this one is due in April. Oh well, the vagaries of marketing, I imagine.
Any ideas as to when we can expect a listing? Oh, and as a "me too" kinda comment, love the pawns...keep 'em coming.
Also, no Kadrilkasta? Disappointing (and, IMO, somewhat misleading) since she's on the product cover. Yes, I'm aware that there is a Huge-size Adult Blue Dragon in the "Designed for use with the Pathfinder RPG Bestiary Box", as well as the dedicated Battles "mini" for her.

Sadface, indeed.

K is gargantuan, a size that Paizo do not at the moment (and probably in the immediate future) cater for.
Ok my set just arrived today (yay!!!), i noticed something, i don't see any shadow mastiffs, why? I am not saying anything about bestiary 1 monsters missing or even bestiary 2 (since bestiary box 2 is out) but bestiary 3 monsters? why?
I have a question for those who get the PDF. How exactly does that come? Is it a sheet full of the pictures the next page has them reversed? Or is it like the pathfinder paper minis line? I like the paper minis and have considered just getting the pdf's of this and future pawns (I own Bestiary 1, RotRL, S&S, and NPC Codex box). I'd definitely be more inclined to buy more bases because I'd be able to print out multiples instead of being limited to what's in the physical product. Any info is appreciated!
Do they have any cutting lines that are laid over the images? My only gripe with the physical pawns besides not having more is the cut lines have cut off portions of the images that make some of them not make sense.
Yeah, I was afraid of that. I suppose I could get over it though. And Super-imposing an image in a whited out one would be super useful for people who find that perfect picture for their pc/npc. If only photoshop weren't so darned expensive.
