Or charge for the PDF when it releases and then the balance when it ships. That's usual practice with print/PDF bundles from 3PP, isn't it?

I wouldn't recommend it. As costly as Paizo's things are, the amount pales in comparison to the price tag a divorce carries.

Hmmmmm.....soooooo tempting. This would make a really nice Christmas gift to myself and I was wondering what to get me this year.

Does this mean a copy IS in fact reserved for me, or could it 'sell out' and I not get it after all?
You'll get a copy provided you've placed and confirmed your order and didn't leave it in your shopping cart (so it sounds like you're fine).
Once they're all gone, their computer shouldn't let anyone order anymore.

Everyone is complaining about where to find the money to buy this awesome prduct. I have solved that issue!
No Christmas gifts for the family. No anniversary gift for the missus. No birthday gifts for my brother, son, daughter and nephew. And best of all I think I'll skip paying college tuition for the fall semester for my son and daughter.

I still have a few tier 1 openings for PFS GMs at Gen Con. That is 7 slots. One of the rewards for tier 1 GMs is a $10/slot store credit. Other rewards for tier 1 include free badge and a shared hotel room. So, that could fund one-third of the cost! Of course, if you wanted to only devote 3-6 slots at Gen Con, you could still net $30-$60 store credit. Food for thought.....

You can post a thread in th customer service forums, people cancel subscriptions and orders that way all the time.
The description says the case is 13 inches tall. My bookshelves are 13,1 inches tall...

(Note that you will need to have an active AP subscription at the time the Deluxe Collector's Edition ships in order to receive the PDF for free.)
The regular edition of the hardcover works the same way.
A few quick questions for clarification:
I just ordered the Deluxe edition, and want to resume my AP subscription with Shattered Star. Will I get the free PDF, since I'll have an ongoing AP subscrition when it will ship?
When does the 15% off for AP subscription apply? On pre-ordering, or on shipping? (I believe it's only when pre-ordering, but it should be nice to have an answer from Paizo staff)

Still plan on using my new compilation that comes out next month as my "beater." I don't really intend to use the actual book from this set, but I will plan on making use of the handouts, and will most certainly be framing all of the Wayne Reynolds art prints.

My eyes were glazed over for hours after this was announced, but my wife ultimately convinced me that it fails the Cheetos test: if you don't want to risk getting Cheetos dust on a game product, you should not buy that game product. :)

Mike, this made me so excited, I sent you a PM(after confirming it would be ok with the wife.) Then I remembered you wanted an Email, so I sent one of those. Then I read the instructions that you wanted some additional information, and sent a second Email. Sorry to flood you with all this, but, hey, I got excited that some slots opened back up. Ah yeah, thanks Liz. I didn't really think it through.
It's a hidden-in-plain-sight downside of the deluxe edition, I guess. For those with an AP subscription - switching from the "standard" anniversary edition to the deluxe edition is going to delay receiving the free PDF by a few months.
I guess it would be hard to code, but it might have made a great option if people could be charged for the PDF on release of the standard edition, then credited that price back when the deluxe edition shipped (if they were an AP subscriber the entire time the book was preordered or something). Hmm, it gets complicated, I guess...
This is still an awesome product. :)

Are the WAR prints all 8X10s? If so he sells those $15 each or 3 for $30 at cons(which was the only way to get them - those are 2009 pricing, it may have gone up)... that's at least $150 worth or art prints (using the 3 for 30 as much as possible with 2x $15 left over) making the book, handouts, metal case, and shipping only $50.... I was going to skip RotRL.... but I have been sad that I hadn't bought the rest of the iconics at Wayne's booth @ Gencon last year.

Considering the price tag, could these be signed by the team at Paizo?
I for one, would rather something this extravagant NOT be marred by signatures. I love my signed 1st printing corebook, but it's the sigs that make it special. I fear they would actually detract from the value of this book.
Although an inserted signature page would be cool.

The bindings for the normal core rule books didn't really cut it sadly, but I'd totally buy 4-5 for my play group if they got this sort of treatment :)

Well, since my Gencon trip got cancelled this year due all of my travelling companions being unable to get time off from work...
Preordered :)
If it makes you husbands feel better, I am in one of those "how to convince my fiance this is a good purchase" frames of mind... along with "how to restrain myself from making this purchase"
... it can be very hazardous to a household budget to have both members of the couple be avid gamers.

This actually the first time I find the special/deluxe/collectors/over 9000/limited/etc. edition of a book less appealing than the standard product.
It eschewed the awesome WAR Cover art in favor of a rather minimalistic emblem. That doesn't work for me. Especially because this way it would look completely misplaced in my PFRPG shelf.
But don't take advice from me, I'm not going to be able to afford the deluxe edition anyway.
