Is there any hope of a Ptolus Pathfinder edition?

Product Discussion

One of my big regrets in the post D&D 3.0 era is that I didn't buy the Ptolus setting when it came out.

Has anyone heard any rumblings that it might be revamped and reissued in a form compatible with PF?

Seems like there would be a big audience out there.

Dark Archive

Monte Cook has discussed it a number of times as far as I am aware but I don't know about a full (Or official) conversion.

+1 hope

I'd enjoy it, since my book was stolen. *growls*

There's a LOT of Ptolus to go over, and I doubt it would be economic to print it again, even in Pf format.

However, a hugantuan PDF, including all the PDF-on-disk info from the first printing might make sense. Monte obviously has contacts with both Super Genius Games (who run his Dungeonaday.com site) and Rite Publishing (Jade Oath) and I bet either would be thrilled to do the conversions work (massive as it would be) for a cut of the take.

So... there's a clear path, even if I've heard no rumors about it.

Pathfinder Roleplaying Game Charter Superscriber

I would LOVE this. I see it as a PDF that is basically a straight conversion doc. There was an AE conversion doc with the original, I see a similar approach for the PFRPG conversion.

Sovereign Court

I would love this as well. maybe if enough interest is shown on this thread...?

Liberty's Edge

Paizo did print that one collected hardback of Monte's a while back. Anyone know how that did?

I've got room in my gaming budget to pay serious money for a copy of massive limited run book like this. I can only pull it off once a year so timing would be everything. If it was done on a pre-order basis like The Tome of Horrors hardback then there would be plenty of time to save up for it. I've met plenty of gamers who hang their heads in shame at not having gotten a copy of the original when it came out. I'm pretty sure they'd jump at a chance to get copy. It'd never hurt to throw out some feelers and get some feedback and gauge interest.

Maybe Mr. Cook could add some special seasonings and spices... Just sayin'.

I can proudly say that not only do I have Ptolus, but that my lovely fiance is geeky enough to have gotten it for me.

That having been said, I haven't read a tenth of it. The thing is huge! I'd love to see a slimmed down version of it for PF that was more approachable.

For that matter, bringing Arcana Evolved into PF wouldn't be a bad idea either.

Ive seen that in my gaming group. My impression was Monte did it himself.
