Great mini and a lot of fun to paint

5/5

I haven't painted a mini in probably 7-8 years but since my group just started Kingmaker and this mini looked so cool, I just had to get him and pick up a brush. First thing you should know about this mini is that some assembly is required. The following come as separate pieces- his cape, his bow, the top half of his head (with the helm) and the two antlers on his helm (each separate). I normally don't like having to fiddle with a bunch of little pieces but gluing him together wasn't that bad. The antlers were the trickiest part but with a little patience they aren't too bad to glue. The mini itself is very well detailed and very close to the his picture on the front of Stolen Lands. The main difference is that his helm on the mini covers more of his face than it does in the picture on Stolen Lands. But everything from the pouch on his belt, to the leaves in his arm and leg bracers is accurate to the pic. I always use a black undercoat when I paint, so his color scheme of gray, green, brown and flesh tone worked very well. I painted the bow more of bluish-black than the red on the cover. All in all, for my first mini in years, he wasn't that difficult to paint and I'm pretty pleased with my results. All that's left for me to do is base him. I highly recommend this mini. Even if you aren't running Kingmaker, he looks really cool and you'll find some use for him whenever you need a ranger/barbarian type.

Wow, too bad my current group will be fighting him before I can buy and paint this.

When can I expect to see this released?

Same here.

I'm sure he'll be a cool figure but he's about a year too late.

Cheers

I, for one, can still see this character being a really cool Cleric/Inquisitor/Oracle of Erastil, personally.

I believe he's currently scheduled for May.

I may just have to break out the old (and I do mean old) paints for this one. Haven't painted a mini in probably five years...

Any chance at a photo anytime soon?

May is rapidly drawing to a close. Any chance on an update for this? My party is nearing his fort, the showdown is all but inevitable!

Wouldn't you sell more AP minis if players could get them by the time the the correlating AP issue is shipped?

Why are the AP minis coming out so late?

Is it because the minis line is still relatively new and yet to be streamlined? Do you wait until you know if a character is well-received before its commissioned?

This is so much a more complex question with a harder answer than it sounds.

Let me give the simple answer of: Paizo has hundreds of awesome figure art we at Reaper are using to make these figures. If we focus only on the new AP stuff, the hundreds of awesome figures that came before will be obvious in their absence. What we are trying to create is a useful mix of 'New and relevant to current audiences, and inclusive of the really cool stuff from the past'

Stag Lord might be a year too late for a lot of you. But somebody out there is just about to begin Kingmaker, and that GM will be happy.

Can we expect it soon? I'm about two months away from starting my KM game and I would need to receive and paint it first.

I'm sure your customers would love (hint, hint) to see a page with just a rough time line for releases. At least the order in which they'll come out, if not actual dates. Is that feasible?

I would really like to purchase Vordakai, Cyclops Lich, but only if I can get by the time my players reach Kingmaker Part 3. They're about to begin Part 2.

I just started my Kingmaker game, a friend of mine has also just started running it too. I hope he is ready soon. :)

I know that this week, we're shipping these to distribution:

60067___Nyrissa, Dryad Queen by Derek Schubert $8.99
60070___Velmarius Elazarin by Julie Guthrie $6.49
60074___Serpentfolk Warrior by Julie Guthrie $6.29
60076___Gray Gardener by Patrick Keith $6.99

Which has a Kingmaker figure, a Serpent Skull, one Inner Sea figure for use in all Golarion games, and one figure (I am ashamed to admit)I'm not sure about the Product origin for.

Stag Lord was originally slated for May but did not arrive from the sculptor on time. I would expect it to be the 4th selection for June (which originally the Gray Gardener was to be released in June, so this is one that came in early). Dirty secret: Sometimes a sculptor turns in a green late, and we have to do that.

I show these for June:

60075 King Castruccio Irovetti
60077 Baba Yaga
60078 Khavith, Serpentfolk Evoker

July:
60079 Lyrie Akenja
60080 Pathfinder Agent
60081 Runelord Alaznist
60082 Vordakai, Cyclops Lich

August:
60083 Samurai
60084 Ninja
60085 Gunslinger
60086 Ameiko Kaijitsu

Also note that the August product release is linked somewhat to some upcoming product that will be relevant at the time of the model releases....

Thanks for the info, Reaperbryan.

Yes indeed. Thank you very much.

Rubs hands in anticipation for several upcoming Kingmaker minis.

I second that, but at the same time I start crying, because I won't find the time to paint them.

Ah, the pain!

Liberty's Edge

I just want the fig for a head swap. The Bulwinkle Hat is proving problematic to sculpt. Perhaps the same delay is happening on Reaper's end? :)

Picture is up on the preview page on reaper's site. The mouth looks abit akward i think but otherwise it's another must have for me.

That is a great mini. The Reaper website says available in July, so hopefully soon.

Wow! I am really impressed by this Mini. Even if it might be too late, when it hits the streets, it's going to be a definite buy!

Ruyan.

Liberty's Edge

Thank the Maker! I like it a lot. Just need to sculpt a breastplate on him (make it one of those muscled ones and there's very little to do) and put some scales on the skirt (tatzylwyrm hide), and you've got my half-orc ranger.

great looking mini indeed... a must have.

Wow!!!! That's one awesome looking mini!

Ooo, Hircine!

We do steal him from Elder Scrolls as the deity of werecreatures, so...I may just get this one.

The Exchange RPG Superstar 2009 Top 4

I hope the head on this mini is not attached. His helmet is one of the major magic items of this adventure path and It would be cool if the PCs could easily pit this head on their character's mini.

Just get a vorpal sword...

Dark Archive

As my party killed the Stag Lord just last night this came a tad too late for me but I guess I may just buy him for my collection anyway!
