That painted sample looks awesome!
How did the artist get the skirt to look translucent like that?
Paint it white as normal, then add a thinned layer of the flesh colour in the recesses, where the material would touch.
I'm more curious if the water jet is supplied with the figure (coming from her left hand), or if that is something the painter added (bent plastic rod and clear resin?)?

It's something the painter added... not sure how... if you go to the reaper website you can see the unpainted version

Does anyone know if she is large? Or if, unpainted, she would pass fine as a humanoid character? Please let me know thanks
Go here See those little triangles? they are at 1/2 " and 1" I think. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong

After I asked here, I looked around a bit.
The sample was painted by Anne Foerster. She has a website where she talks about painting another mini with a similar effect. She paints the miniature as though it were skin color first, then works over the skin with the clothing color to give the clothing a translucent effect.
The website is www.miniaturezone.org and the examples of her creating the same effect on another mini are in the Work in Progress section with the mini Cersei Lannister. (Page loads through a php script so I can't link it directly.)

I just got her in my shipment today. She's maybe tall for medium but she still looks pretty medium to me. Have to say I'm a bit disappointed with the scale since marids are supposed to be large.
I'm still not sure if she's medium or large. If she's medium, she's quite tall, but if she's large, she's quite small. I haven't started messing with her yet. Not sure if I'll base her as medium or large. I guess I should base her as large since marids are large.

For me, she came with a medium base, but the miniature is large compared to other medium size characters. If you use her as a medium human, she will look out of proportion with normal medium miniatures. If you stand her next to large monsters, she will be smaller, the proportions look right, but there is a lot of empty space on the base. She seems made to be ~8ft tall.
