Considering purchasing this, but not sure if it has what I'm looking for.
Does this supplement (or any, for that matter) introduce a Moon God/ess and Domain? If not, does Paizo intend to introduce it in any of their upcoming supplements?
I'm bringing in a Cohort (courtesy of Leadership) in a few sessions that's a cleric of the Moon Goddess (using a homebrew list of Gods). If a Moon Domain exists, or will soon, I'd love to get a look at it...
Thanks.

Desna's probably as close as you're going to get to a traditional Moon Goddess on Golarion, but there's no specific Moon domain. Yet.
DESNA, THE SONG OF THE SPHERES
Goddess of dreams, stars, travelers, and luck
Alignment CG
Domains Chaos, Good, Liberation, Luck, Protection
Favored Weapon Starknife
Centers of Worship Kyonin, Lands of the Linnorm Kings, Nidal, Numeria, River Kingdoms, Ustalav, Varisia
Nationality: Varisian
Her symbol is a blue butterfly with a moon, a sun, and two stars on its wings. She's more focused on the night sky as a whole, but the general effect is pretty much the same.
The only other moon-related human deity of any note for Golarion is Groetus, the God of the End-Times. Did you ever play Legend of Zelda-Majora's Mask for the N64? Basically, the evil moon that ends the world by crashing into it.
And then there's Haggakal and Haggakal, the ogre brother and sister gods. (Ogres aren't that smart, or creative, so they use the same name for them both.) Suffice it to say if you know anything about how Golarion ogres tend to behave, you really want to avoid worshiping them.

Just a rules question about the magic items, many of them are keyed as: "worshipers also get x spell 1/day." When it says worshipers, does it mean any lay worshiper, or divine casters (clerics & paladins)?
It actually says "patron," meaning "patron deity." Any character can have a patron deity; in a world of many gods, your patron deity is "your" deity, the primary one one you pray to and whose beliefs you espouse. You can believe in and even worship other gods, but your patron is your primary.
You don't have to be a divine spellcaster to have a patron deity. Seoni's patron is Pharasma, Valeros's patron is Cayden Cailean.
To finally answer your question, the magic item's additional powers work for *any* person who has that deity as their patron, not just divine casters. :)

I have a simple question that I am hoping for an answer to.
Are gods of the orc pantheon included in this product?
I am hoping they will be in the orc supplement coming out later this year but I am also hoping they might be in this particular product. :)
The philosophy is that there is more or less a single pantheon for everyone with a few individual demi-gods and more obscure gods being worshipped here and there. Orcs would mostly worship Gorum and perhaps Rovagug, I am guessing.
Lanx |
There are gods of different races in this volume (gnome, dwarfs, goblins, dragons, giants), but, sadly, no orc gods. I think these gods will be covered in the upcoming Pathfinder Companion Orcs of Golarion.
And, yes, Rovagug is a most likely candidate for an orc god.
Lanx |
No, it does not. It is mentioned when talking about spezific gods which became so by passing the test, but it does not go into detail about their tests. Even the Absalom volume does not give any details about this test. It is up to the GM to fill the gaps if he really want to allow his players to become gods.

See this post from James Jacobs if you'd like to know why we haven't published the mechanics of the test.

Ugg, I just had my first Paizo product fall apart, a bunch of pages fell out of this book. Just ordered a replacement.
Something's up with the binding on this book. We had a bunch of pages fall out of the first one, ordered a replacement, and now the same pages are starting to fall out of the second one. :(

I'm looking at picking up some old books ... but have the PF Campaign Setting. How much of this is now covered in the CS?
Thanks!
If I recall correctly the CS has half a page entry on each of the deities. G&M has multiple pages for each (4 I believe). Currently the only thing with more info for any deities is the articles in the APs.

Odd, I didn't look at the time, but I was looking at what the page was saying was the newest post when I posted that, there was some weird segmentation in the boards, I saw the G&M thread up there twice after I posted.
Joana |
Yeah, for some reason, there's also this thread. Dragnmoon's post was in both, and they were side-by-side earlier today.

5-15 *and* 51-62 for me. Neat, I'd never have thought the same pages would be affected.

Yeah, I'm really careful with my books, but mine just did the same thing - and it's pages 51-62, like as you mentioned.
Is there any word on if there's a new printing of this without this issue? Or if there are any care suggestions on how to avoid having this happen?
I just found this thread. I'm sorry to break it to you folks, but I'm afraid you have all clearly failed your saves and are now suffering from what is known as the Reynoldian Curse. In some regions, it is known as "SKRath's Failing". I first encountered this blight shortly after cracking open my hardcover, Ghostwalk. Once my eyesight returned a week or so later, I was able to finish reading the book.
The curse effect different material in different ways. Obviously, a sourcebook like this results in disolving pages. A minor campaign setting ends up in temporary blindness (Will DC 15).
My advice is to have Remove Curse cast on your purchase. Also prior to reading any material written by Sean; cast Bless, Prayer, or any other like magics. Remember, this must happen before reading it. Simply possessing the item will not trigger the curse. The evil is in the actually written words.
Good luck & may Caiden bless your spirits.

There was only ever one printing. (Odd that it's taken so long for this to happen.)
Those of you with this problem, does it look like the glue in that part of the binding has dried out?
Joana |
Heh. Just got out our old copy to check, and 3-14 fell out as well.
The first set of pages fell out quite a while ago. We bought our original copy from Paizo 29 November 2008 and ordered a replacement copy from Amazon 10 August 2009, so the first set of pages had already fallen out by then.
The pages come out all in one big section still together internally (i.e., like a booklet rather than in separate loose sheets). You can kind of feel the glue on the inside edges -- don't know if looks dried out??

It looks to me that there is barely any clue on the pages that fell out..

Customer Service had one to show me that was reported as a problem shortly after the books was released (so it's not just a product of aging here).
What's weird is that books are prepared in 16-page signatures—that's four 8.5" x 22" sheets folded in half—and usually when you see problems like this, it's that an entire signature has come loose. In this case, the outer sheets of the signatures are staying connected to one another, but the three inner sheets of the first and/or last signature are separating from that outer sheet.
As far as our QC process goes, there's not much for us to do—that printer was our main printer for a long time, and their other books don't seem to have had this issue; more to the point, we've also switched printers for the majority of our books.
Since the pages come out cleanly, the industrious among you might find it's easy enough to repair yourself with a little glue along the spine of the group of pages that came loose; those of you who'd rather not do that can drop a note to customer service, and we'll get you set up with replacements.

I already Ordered a replacement to ship to me with my next Subscriber shipment, I have had it long enough and gotten enough use out of it that I have no issues with buying a new one.

I've also experienced this issue with G&M, but that's the only Paizo-book I have where any physical problems aren't my fault - which can be compared with my Wheel of Time novels where all the Tor ones started to break loose from the spine within a year of being purchased. So I'm guessing this is not something Paizo should lose sleep over (do golems sleep?).

Has there been a second edition of this? I got my copy a few days back now, not purchased through Paizo, and it has an unusual amount of errors in it, spelling, grammar, logic. Is that "supposed" to be that way or did I just get handed a bad and early print run?
I can't imagine there's ever been a reprint of this one, but if there has, you'd find the printing on the title page.

This has never been reprinted.
