Not perfect...

2/5

First the bad: yes, this book is riddled with mistakes and errors. A lot of them.
On the other hand: This book is pretty good for an in depth look at the robotech universe. The details on the veritech and the Invid were amazing and my players loved it. And character creation was pretty straightforward and simple and everyone got to play what they wanted.
Playing: Because of the errors and ommisions, it was touch and go, but there is enough story information and rules there to run a pretty good game. And who doens't love giant robots transforming to fight aliens?
Summary: small and portable. cheaper then hardcover. lots of errors and missing stuff. buy the hardcover.

1st Printing needs Major Errata

1/5

The First print og this book is Rife with Errors and Ommisions. Wait to buy a second-print of the Hard-cover version. the HC adds information that makes this a more-complete game and much more Playable.

Anyone played this yet? Does it use an updated version of the Palladium (SDC/MDC) system, or something new?

I had all the Robotech RPG books back when I was a kid. I loved the cartoon, and then I came across a full-page ad for the RPG while flipping through one of my Dad's Dragon magazines... so I saved up my allowance and ordered it. And back then, ordering meant sending a money order and waiting 8-10 weeks, lol. This was probably the first RPG product I actually bought with my own money. (I think Heroes Unlimited and/or TMNT was the second)

Even if I don't end up actually playing it, its worth buying for the nostalgia factor alone.

According to the Palladium website, the book does contain O.C.C's and is a "Mega Damage Setting". Might be time to locate my battered copies of the RDF Manual, Invid Invasion and The Sentinels.

i'd Wait to buy this Product. its 1st Printing is Riddled with errors the People at Harmony-Gold (the IP holder) and Palladium Let slip thourgh the Cracks.
the book should be going to a second printing soon. the Publisher is also printing a "Deluxe" 8 x 11 hardback eddition with "Extras" that really should have been in the First Manga-sized printing. thie Deluxe version also contains Updated Errata info, which is currently no being published online by Palladium.

it uses the MDC system as portrayed in Rifts Ultimate edition.

the over all MDc of all Mecha has been incresed compared to pervious editions of the game, While Weapon Damages have been lowered over-all except for Missiles, which now use the Rifts-Coalition style damages.
