Much appreciated, I see how that works now!

Latest. No idea on datasets, just default as far as I know. Greataxe and heavy crossbow. Right panel. Masterwork.

On the Inventory/Purchase tab, I bought a couple of things, double clicked them, they disappeared and now I can't re-add them.

Does anyone have any insight? Surely you're not limited (by RAW) to simply drowning once you go under unless someone else pulls you up. There must be some mechanism for recovering from a failed swim check, no? At the very, very least there should be a way to attempt removing some of your armor or jettisoning some other gear and then a check for getting back to the surface and having another go at it.

When I read the flat footed rules in the Combat chapter it seems to indicate that you're always flat footed in the opening round (until you've acted), but it doesn't make sense to me that there would not be an exception when you're already prepared for battle. For instance, in our last game we knew that there was a room full of kobolds and we lured them out into the area that we were in, fully prepared to attack them. RAW we should be flat footed, but I can't understand why that would be under such a circumstance, and as a matter of fact our GM didn't flat foot us. I think that flat footed should only apply when surprised.

Still learning the PF system from the ground up. I was reading the Swim skill today and see that it tells you about going under and holding your breath if you fail the check, but doesn't tell you anything about recovering and getting back to the surface.

Well, PCGen proved extremely frustrating. I think I'll just have to get good and quick at hand making.

I've been feeling pretty sure that I've flipped around through CRB enough to run up on everything I'm due, but it was only a few days ago that I discovered the Favored Class Bonus to either hp or skill ranks, so I'm totally open to there being something hiding around in there somewhere!

This was my first attempt at using VentureCaptain, which I was considering trying as a hopefully easier way of making bunches of characters for my players, but I think what's happened is that I've discovered it not to be trusted.

Very much appreciated, yall!

I've re-created my first character (hand rolled and figured) in VentureCaptain, and every single detail came out identical except for weapon attack and damage. In my hand made one, greataxe is +5 and 1d12+6, and crossbow is +5 / 1d10+1. Here is a link to the VC one in Google Docs, if anyone could tell me where it is getting its figures so that I might discover where I might be missing some numbers from Core Rulebook. Much appreciated!
