View the oracle as a drug addict that if it take too much it overdose. the major curse should be something you want to avoid but sometime go there anyway because you need to

The DC for the recall knowledge can be adjusted by the GM for things that should be easy. Knowing an Oracle is in the group I would prepare some information in advance

5000 shots in real life is around 6-7 kg and 15-20 liters. So the size of a jerrycan that can be tied with straps under a backpack. Bulk 1 would be good but bulk 2 would not be too bad since there is nothing to grapple it with one hand to manipulate it

IIRC Innate spells are always cast at the level given.

So, no.

Innate spell specify that you cannot heighten them and innate cantrip are heighten like normal cantrips and that you can cast them at higher spell level that you normally cannot cast but not that you cast them at the level given. The rule must be somewhere else

If a summoned creature cast a spell of equal level or higher than the spell that summoned it the spell fizzle. Could the creature cast it at lower level so the spell work?

By example with a summon lesser servitor at level 2:

- A qasit can cast detect alignment at level 2 but it is a level 1 spell that would work if cast at level 1

- A Shaukeen with constant magic aura at the 3rd level. Magic aura is a spell of level 1 so can the Shaukeen magic aura work at the level instead of the level indicated into the creature stats?

Caster shine in their versatility. Out of combat you have spell that make you breath underwater, make light, charmed people, calm them, change appearance. In combat you can deal damage with different element to target weakness.different area of effect, different range

Casters often have high int, wis or cha so they can have a lot of skills trained and more language learned. They are the one that can indicate how to deal with a creature but also use diplomacy or deception better than other class. Last game I turn around an ogre not with a spell but with a command that looked good enough to be obeyed because my deception was trained. There is more chance that you are the one with a weird language that permit to know what the monster are saying to each other.

They have familiar that can scout with their small size and ability to fly at low level and be guinea pig to test traps.

You can get away from a bad combat better than other class with invisibility or teleport and heal yourself and other party members. You can survive in climate that are hostile with resistance spell.

So this compensate the fact that martial class can do two attack in a round while we can only do one spell.

I want to craft a batch of 4 potion of invisibility that cost 40gp of material and 40gp to craft them. I can reduce the 40gp amount spending more time crafting. I have the material and 11gp at the start of the crafting of the batch

Do I need the 40gp when starting the process even if it would be reduce later?
If I don't need it, when reducing the amount if I am interrupted what happen to the batch of potion? Does the batch is destroyed? Can I complete only some potions of the batch because I have en enough cash for one of them?

A lot of the grimoire have the text

"that you prepared from this grimoire,"

but the endless grimoire has the text

"If you use the
grimoire during your daily preparations and are capable
of preparing spells of the appropriate
level, the grimoire’s nature leaks into
your mind, allowing you to prepare an
additional 1st-level spell."

So a Witch could have one more spell slot of 1st level?

the other part
"The grimoire’s eagerness to contain your spells grants you a +1 item bonus to checks to Learn a Spell if you do so by transcribing the spell into the grimoire."
with the witch that can .
"You can use the Learn a Spell exploration activity to prepare a special written version of a spell, which your familiar can consume as if it were a scroll "

Can the witch prepare that special version by writing it in the grimoire and tear the page to feed it to the familiar and get the bonus to learn a spell?

I would not penalizing a pc for it. He just need to understand that in some circumstance it will have some effect because of the concentrate trait.

I would have like that the GM guide give more detail on that trait

Because of Covid-19 our games are currently on Roll20 so it would look weird to throw all the roll secretly when the other pc are doing it openly

for the initiative it is covered well by the rule with a delay action where your delay secretly until the public roll. You cannot use reaction during that time by the rules so identifying spell as reaction cannot be done.

For mage/rogue The sneak attack rules looks like it must be added if you touch and the opponent is flat foot. They may have worded it in a way that it was optionnal because you don't always want to kill the adversary. The magic trickster say 'you can' so it might be optionnal for sneak attack on spell.

Deception with a high character that is spying will already have it above 30. So only a natural 1 while pc are rolling high can trigger something.

The cantrip is really the big problem. The public roll indicate to the other players that you touch. Others players will suspect something if you say that you have no more spell to throw and those are impacting at full damage.

For a spellcaster that want to pass as something else. What is allowed by the rule to intentionnally act worst than the roll of the dice and the modifier?

There is some that are fix that I know like cantrip have to be heigthened and prepared spell once they are prepared in a level slot have to be cast at that level.

Can a circonstance modifier be added to a skill check, spell DC or attack to lower our result because we act like we are not good? Do we have to roll if we want an effect that is easy for our level or we want to make it look like we fail the check?

If I have a tiny lizard familiar that I equip with a tiny saddle and speech abilities. The GM impose the list in the book without having special stats for a particular type of lizard.

If I cast an enlarge on the lizard it is now a large lizard. I used it as a mount since it is now larger than me . The command animals is used for mount but it is also an intelligent familiar that has speech.

Can other members of the group talk to it to issue a command to my mount with nature skill or they can just talk to it since it has speech and issue command without roll?

The command animal looks like we are talking to a dumb animal that has some minus in intelligence but if we use just the bonus from the familiar it gives a zero bonus. On the inverse my GM apply a -5 penalty to all my order to an unseen servant because it has -5 in int. Do you normally apply the -4 penalty to command a riding horse because it has a -4 in int?

Does the ride feat has any impact since It is a familiar that we can issue command normally?

What are the final stats of my large lizard?
The enlarge give a +2 to damage , Reach is 10 feet and clumsy 1 from the spell
there is 3 weapon increase from the weapon descriptions
the attack original damage is not specified.

If I equip my familiar with the manipulate object ability and a Weapon can it carry someone and also attack with a weapon?

Does appyling some of the giant frilled lizard stats would be right since this is the only example of large lizard in the bestiary and which of the stats you keep?

The familiar swallow something does it shrink when the spell finish, so we cannot feed it during the spell duration? If it can swallow something what it the biggest size of creature it can eat during that time to make a corpse disappear?

The price of the saddle is include in buying a mount so what is the price of it for a tiny one? Do we need headgear since we talk to it?

Can I equip my familiar with barding? Since a normal horse is trained to wear it without having to spend a feat do we use the stats for barding in the book or there is some penalty?

If the spell is Heightened to a huge creature how many people can ride? Elephant are also huge but the bestiary does not mention it

The spell duplicate familiar make a copy of the familiar. What happened to objects and spell effects active on the familiar?

-If the familiar has magical objects like wands, scroll or ring of protection does the objects are also duplicate for the duration of the spell?

-If the wizard cast spell like shield on the familiar does the copy also appear with the spell effective ?

The separation is not as clear as you think because even if I use prepainted miniature I will modify them, add detail, make a base etc.. Prepainted can also be used to be cut in part for making other miniatures.

Some manufacturer will also sell both type.

Here is a page with a lot of manufacturer listed

Another list separated by theme

How do you rule a shadow projection spell on an imp familiar?

-incorporeal have no natural armor bonus but familiar give a bonus , do you count it
AC = dodge +3 dex + 2 charisma + 2 size + familiar natural armor bonus
if a mage armor is cast before you count it ?

-non magical does not do damage
magicel weapon does half
but there is also

DR 5/good or silver; Immune fire, poison; Resist acid 10, cold 10

from the imp

How do you count the 50% damage , before or after the damage resistance

-Can the imp cast change shape to broke the spell or does he take the shadow form of a beast?

-The shadow is silent and the imp can cast invisibility. Is there a chance to detect it other than by magic ?

I am playing a wizard that is beginning to have many spellbooks with a mixed of spells not learned, spellcraft done or not done, copied or not copied. Today i tried searching for spreadsheet to arrange my spell list without having to rewrite everything but it looks like all the database or spreadsheet have been removed. I am finding only dead link

Is there a fie somewhere left with spell from the common books like the core, advance player ultimate magic?

A wizard has an imp as familiar. The wizard craft while adventuring which gives 4 hour of crafting time. The familiar that does not sleep help him to gives a +2 bonus and work for 4hour + the night which is 12 hours.

Same thing out of adventure with the wizard working 8 hour and the imp 16 hours

How do you calculate the amount of work done ?

I made a wizard with mostly non damaging spell that turn useless after the dm ruled them or my use of the resource. I feel that I am not pushing too much but some of my spell are becoming useless because every time they are not working. By example

-Somebody smash a gem that was used for a magic jar. I made a mend on the gem to be able to sell it back. The dm rule that the gem was in powder and that the spell was not working.

-A rogue was escaping by walking on a tight rope. I cast animate rope to entangle the rogue with it. The DM rule a reflex save and the rogue got away.

-I cast an animate rope on an archer and give command to loop the rope of the bow around the head and the hand of the archer. This time the monster failed the reflex save but at his turn the monster simply move and switch weapon and made a crit attack on a pc saying that the entangle condition does not keep him from doing it.

-I hired an hireling porter. The dm ask for a perception check. I roll 3 dice for me, my familiar and the hireling. The dm voiced that it was too much an advantage to have action for me and my familiar avery turn while the other player have only one action so in next combat the hireling end up dead and the body was dragged to not be found and everybody on the group failed their perception to see it.

-My familiar(an imp) is made invisible and sent in a warehouse because we have trouble entering. The familiar see nothing but when the pc finally enter they find the objects easily

-the combat are made with snow, rain and other condition like that to have no warning that ennemy are coming so I cannot cast in advance spell like mage armor and shield on my familiar to sent it into combat.

-A ninja in the group want to use the poison of the imp. The DM ruled that the poison need a craft alchemy to be weaponized for the ninja to use it. and that we still need to pay for resource to make the poison since the poison of the imp is not the only ingredient. My imp is the only one that can make the poison without being infected so it would take weeks to make a dose.

It there some resource to better explain the spell to be sure they will at least do something useful when I used them.

I mean spell like , magic mouth that is a requirement for a Bottle of Messages. To know which object I can make with a magic mouth spell I need to look at every objects.

You can also roll the sense motive for the players. They won't know if they have failed it and will generate their view of the result by themselves.

Is there a list somewhere that list the objects I can craft with a spell. The list of object indicate which spell I have to knwo to make the object but I would like the inverse

Cast awaken on the elephant and ask the wizard to cast fly and enlarge on it and you have a dm that won't ever put an elephant in his campaign :-p

Out of curiosity, if you are not first level why wouldn't you have access?

Just did not have the opportunity yet to buy it or have the material/time to scribe it.

The familiar shares your ranks (but uses its Ability modifiers) in all skills - using its own ranks if they are higher. Thus, if you have Spellcraft and Knowledge (Arcana), so does your familiar. It can simply use its spell-like ability and tell you what it sees.

That part I knew it. The familiar has 5 less that the wizard in spellcraft so I was hoping to use the wizard spellcraft

I have a specialist wizard that does not have access yet to detect magic and identify at perso creation. We are not starting at first level so I have improved familiar with a familiar that can cast detect magic.

Can I do a spellcraft to identify items if the detect magic is cast by my familiar. Spellcraft say that I can identify object through the use of the spell but I am not sure if I push too much by saying the spell has to be cast by the one doing the skill check.

As an alternative can the Familiar show me how to cast detect magic which is a spell like for him?

If it does not work I will have to let my familiar make the check.
