Hunt for the ghost's time
Because there are no distractions at night, it is an ideal time to go on spirit which can help your sixth sense stay in tune with the surroundings. However, any time of the day could be beneficial, depending on who's doing the haunting. The elderly lady who visits my house for instance, knocks on the walls throughout the day, but is silent at night when we've done something to cause her discomfort, such as cleaning the house too late.
Bring a trigger object
Know your history of the place and of the ghostly incident, then bring something the spirit can be connected to. If it's a kid for example bring an item to play with or at a place where there was a big heist bring money from the era of the heist. Talk about it. Ask questions. You may even get enough energy to propel it.
Be a child
Adults are walking through the streets with blinders on. We've got so much on our minds. Children are open to everything. Wide open. They see things ahead of us. You will be captivated and eager to take on whatever you want to do when you visit the historic (and likely haunted!) spot. Believe the ghosts sense that you're sincere, that you'd like to meet them. Document evidence
Digital recorders are a really good basic tool. Since they generate white noise, spirits are able to communicate inside them. The less expensive ones are superior. EVPs (Electronic Voice Phenomena) are classified as Class A, Class B or Class C. Class A is amazingly clear that you are able to discern the words. We were in the last location and playing back EVPs. The spirits responded to our questions with crystal clear voices.
Engage all the senses
It's like you feel a sense of presence. Your hair is hanging on the end, you can hear the sounds or feel a slight touch but then you turn around and no one is there. There are smells - earth old perfume roses body smell. They could be angry. There is no way to tell if everybody is all sweetness and light. However, for the most part they are not demons. They are simply people like you and me.
Be aware of the dangers
You're not hunting for stones. You're not hunting seashells. Provoking is very serious.
If you've established an excellent relationship with the witness, they'll be happy to hear from you again. Make sure you make an appointment with them in the event of any other incident and ensure they keep a note of the call. If something does happen then you can go back to conduct another investigation, varying your approach to maximize the impact.
