About Zoryn Drax

Zoryn Drax — The Forge-Wing of Damoritosh

Born of Steel and Sky

Zoryn Drax was hatched aboard the Triaxian carrier Vigilant Hearth, one of the Skyfire Legion’s shipborne training fortresses.
He was smaller than most dragonkin, a Shipborn hatchling bred to fit the cramped corridors of human-sized starships rather than the vast skies of Triaxus. Yet from his earliest drills, Zoryn showed a rare blend of strength and precision—his talons struck like plasma cutters, his roar like a reactor ignition.

He came to revere Damoritosh, god of war and discipline, not as a destroyer but as a forgemaster—the one who tempers chaos into purpose. “A blade earns its honor not in the strike,” his mentor told him, “but in the forging.” Zoryn took that lesson to heart.

Mercenary of the Red World

When the Vigilant Hearth was decommissioned, Zoryn refused to return planetside. Instead, he followed the scent of conflict to Akiton, the dust-choked world where honor was measured in thasteron credits and blood. There he joined a salvage-mercenary outfit called the Red Flight, specializing in boarding actions and battlefield reclamation.

His team didn’t just strip wrecks—they recovered the fallen. Zoryn’s strength and endurance made him their anchor in the storm, hauling debris, shielding comrades, and standing firm when plasma fire rained down.
Among the Akitonian mercs he earned the nickname “Forge-Wing,” for the way his emerald wings gleamed in the heat of battle and for his habit of hammering disabled tech back into shape mid-firefight.

The Soldier’s Creed

Years of hard labor honed Zoryn’s philosophy: that discipline is salvation. He wielded his tactical painglaive as both weapon and teaching tool—striking not just to wound but to suppress, to control the field and protect his allies.
He adopted the Close Quarters doctrine of the Pact Worlds military, mastering techniques like Whirling Swipe and Primary Target, turning two-handed weapons into instruments of precise area suppression rather than reckless destruction. His battle laugh—a thunderous, rolling roar—became infamous, terrifying enemies even as it rallied his comrades (Menacing Laughter).

Zoryn carried his faith like a shield: Damoritosh forged order through struggle, and Zoryn forged himself the same way.

From Mercenary to Starfinder

During a contract protecting a Starfinder salvage team near the ruins of a crashed pre-Gap battle station, Zoryn witnessed the Society’s courage firsthand. While his mercenary crew wanted to strip the site and move on, the Starfinders stayed—risking everything to recover knowledge instead of loot.
When the Red Flight abandoned them mid-assault, Zoryn stayed behind. Shoulder to shoulder with the explorers, he fought off a swarm of skittering drones until reinforcements arrived.

After the smoke cleared, Venture-Captain Orna Vesh offered him a new kind of contract—not one of blood, but of purpose. The Starfinder Society needed soldiers who could fight not just for pay, but for progress.

He accepted.

Now Among the Stars

Today, Zoryn Drax serves as a field operative and security instructor for the Starfinder Society. His emerald armor bears both the sigil of Damoritosh and the silver-white compass of the Starfinders.
He fights not for glory or coin, but to guard those who seek the unknown. When he charges into battle, his voice echoes through comms and corridors alike:

“By forge and flame, by discipline and dust—let the unworthy break upon our wings.”
