The swashbuckler tries to maintain their grab and trying to slice Krosovahn with their starknife twice more. "I've never been one to care about coin but your offer is tempting!" Zenith laughs and tries to shut him up anyway.

"The stars will not allow this!" Zenith says as the constellations on the sky-gazer's half plate begin to glow, and starlight shoots out between Krosovahn and Yakuthiel. Reaction ↺ Liberating Step. Yakuthiel gains Resist All 9 vs atk

Zenith then tries to move closer andd tumble past Krosovahn to further block him in. The swashbuckler reaches out with their freehanad and tries to restrain him. "Seems like you still need some sense knocked into you" Zenith says before trying to hit him with the the flat side of their starknife.

Zenith shouts back to the party "Two, over here!" they say as they run off the crate and start tumbling mid air.

Mechanics:
Keeping with my above post, Zenith would just tumble through ne'er-do-well (35 vs reflex dc). i'm picturing just running off the crate, relying on cat fall and expert acrobatics to take no fall damage and not fall prone, and then tumble through the ne'er-do-well. Then with remaining movement from the tumble, move back out into the open (probably end up 5ft directly south of current map position).

A somewhat small and indistinct kayal (fetchling), whose skin appears to be absent of color and partially void of substance, steps into the edge of town. They wear fashionable yet functional clothing underneath a somewhat bulky half plate that fits well and has a series of dots and lines etched into it forming what appears to be constellations. At their side is a kukri and a starknife with a central grip that depicts a silver dragon whose neck, wings, and tail wrap around the blades. Lastly, a moon-shaped medallion is worn around their neck and rests atop the armor.

Hearing a pleasant tune, the kayal follows to hear it more fully and soon finds themself looking at a crowd. Taking note of the wolf but not bothered by it's presence, they step forward, "Zenith. Just Zenith. By the stars I'll protect you, should you need protecting" they smile slightly. They then kneel down with their hand outstretched, palm open, to welcome the wolf. Zenith will gladly pet him.

Zenith is a lvl 7 gymnast swashbuckler with champ dedication and champ reaction-- liberating step. i will post proactively how it would be used with the text in spoiler, but generally first person to take damage where zenith is in range of them and the NPC.

For marching order, Zenith can start just about wherever. They have a returning starknife but prefer being in melee range and doing combat maneuvers (grapple/trip/shove/etc). I'll fill zenith in the marching order once more people have updated the slides.

2x moderate healing potions for provisions.

I have 4 gm glyphs which would be enough for everyone to start with 2.

First issue is Champ reaction is Resist All. "When an effect deals damage of multiple types and you have resistance to all damage, apply the resistance to each type of damage separately"(source, last sentence) This means that if the champ reaction would've been used then Makai would take no damage from that attack (and get 4 hp back).

Second issue is that the champ reaction and shield block have essentially the same trigger. And presumably Makai could've decided which one to benefit from. You do get to know the damage before applying shield block, so wanting to shield block an attack for 13 points of damage is pretty ideal to block with a hardness of 8.

Another minor issue is that if zenith's reaction was used on the first attack, then free step from zenith's reaction would have negated the 2nd attack in its entirety, but Makai would've had to have taken it, and that would be hard to retcon at this point.

Alternatively, if Makai's shield block was used on the first attack, then Zenith's champ reaction would have negated the following
18 physical -9 = 9 physical
10 evil - 9 = 1 evil
12 fire - 9 = 3 fire
to a total of 13 damage remaining against the critical.

Basically I see this could have resolved multiple different ways. With PbP advancing before the timing could be resolved then the current situation is most disadvantageous and I don't think that's how it would've resolved in a live game. These seem more likely:
- If Zenith's champ reaction was used first this would've negated all damage to makai from the brimorak (by directing reducing the first strike, and then makai stepping to avoid a 2nd attack).
- If Makai shield blocked the first attack then that would've been 5 points of damage from that attack, and zenith could react to the 2nd damage resulting in only 13 points of damage from the crit.

I don't have much opinion on it either way, but that is a lot of hp that could've been mitigated in either case
