"Haleen, she was the one who raised me up from despair. I am of the Forlorn, the abandoned elves. I have lived for nearly a century and a half and I have watched three generations of humanity live and die. The friends I had in childhood grew old and died before me, and their children as well. I had turned away from the joy of my people, became a spirit of hate and destruction. I stalked plains, mountain, and desert taking the lives of those who had wronged me. And when noone had done such I took lives for money. I met Haleen when she was a young woman, she opened up something in me I hadn't known in a hundred years, hope. I turned from the monstrous creature I had become and calmed my hate. I still knelt to Calistria, but now it took much more to wrong me and I did not seek death from the perpetrator. I took a woman and lived happily for a time. But now my wife is dead and Haleen is gone, disappeared. I can not bring my wife back but I can find my friend Haleen, and I will visit horrors on anyone who has hurt her."
